32 A NEW SIDE OF HER

She heard the noise again, but this time it was Emiliano's scream. "Mommy!"

Out of fright, she dashed out of the room and before she could take the fifth step, she saw her son struggling with an unknown figure dressed in all black.

"Stop!!!!!" She screamed. The unknown figure looked up and on seeing her, the figure released Emiliano and disappeared in the darkness.

"Baby!!!" Adriana rushed to Emiliano who was lying on the floor. She crouched down and held him in her arms. "Emmy, are you okay?" She asked, tears flooding her eyes.

Emiliano smiled. "I'm fine, Mommy. I'm a strong boy, I kicked the person back!" He giggled.

Adriana sighed and immediately hugged him to herself. "Thank Goodness. What are you doing out here? You almost killed me," she whispered, caressing his back. But then, something was odd. Emiliano's breathing was odd and his clothes were wet.
