I tried to concentrate on the stack of papers in front of me. But my eyes kept slipping toward the clock on the wall.

The contracts, pay statements, and invoices were nothing but a jumble of dry, boring words that did not make sense in my foggy brain.

My mind was full of thoughts of Molly waiting for me at my house. That alone made me want to shove the paperwork away and head home. But my father insisted that I help him get through all of the contracts tonight. Not that I had seen anything that couldn't wait until morning. But that was the way Paul Monroe worked anymore. If paperwork needed to be done, my dad would make sure it got done before calling it for the day. It was starting to get on my nerves, but he insisted this was how things would go when a person owned their own business.

"Scott!" My father snapped my name to get my attention.
