The Divorced Heiress Is Getting Married Again!

Although it was only a marriage of convenience, Amelie Ashford was the perfect wife in every aspect. She was intelligent, obedient, and well-respected. She was kind to everyone and devoted to her husband. And she was perfectly content to spend the rest of her life like that, even though she was constantly nagged about getting pregnant. That was until her husband entered their house with a mistress by his side and eventually demanded a divorce. "Very well," Amelie said calmly, "I will divorce you." Richard's eyes shone as he heard his wife utter these words. However, to his surprise, she was not done. "But don't be surprised when you get an invitation to my next wedding." To everyone's shock, Amelie indeed got married again, and to a younger and, as it turned out, richer man! And she made sure that her ex-husband realized what it meant to lose the support of a woman like her. _____ "I was raised to be the perfect upper-class wife, groomed to excel and remain vigilant. All I knew was how to fake a smile, read, and work hard to ensure nobody dared to look down on my family. But in the end, that was exactly what made me boring and dull. So when my husband decided to divorce me, why did Liam fall in love with me instead?" Important: FL is not a Mary Sue. Divorce happens in the second part of the novel so watch out for your blood pressure.

Richard's Proposal

Richard watched as Carrie Wright carefully placed the cups of hot coffee on the glass coffee table before him with her trembling hands. he always found it fascinating how his wife's staff was so nervous around him.

His eyes moved over the interior of his wife's office at the Emerald Hotel and only one thought lingered in his mind –– she did care for this place. More than for anything else.

'This room looks drastically different from what she has at JFC. Is this her attempt to express herself then? It's strange. I don't feel comfortable here at all.'

Once Amelie's secretary finally left the room, Richard took the cup of steaming black coffee in his hand and asked in a matter-of-fact voice, "Are you not going to come back to the mansion at all?" It's your home too, you know.
