5 For the day after

"I did it for you" the words of the mysterious figure rang in Damien's head as he jolted awake.

Once again, he was met with a radiating beam of sun light that felt more like a slap across the face than anything else, completing his daily ritual of cursing at the sun, Damien proceeded to rise from where he had fallen asleep.

"I can't even sleep in peace now" Damien said, with dark circles under his eyes. The dream Damien had was the first of it's kind, never had he felt so conscious in a dream before, the dream was so weird, that it felt more like a memory than a dream.

"Was that.... a Demon?" Damien thought to himself, as he walked around his camp.

Damien had never had the misfortune of seeing one before, as it was quite rare to spot a Demon outside the Nether-realm, but based on what he had heard of them, they were everything they were described to be, truly horrifying creatures.

The Demon had met all of the descriptions he had heard of; from their pale skin, to their horns, everything was accurate, except for the breath-seizing killing intent it exuded.

The Demon in Damien's dream didn't give the aura of a mass murderer, instead it gave of a warm and familiar aura, as though it was covering everything except Damien with its gut wrenching aura.

Shaking his head as if to rub off the thought he was having, Damien proceeded to lay on the ground in a standard push-up position cursing at his misfortune. The morning workout was something Damien was sure he would hate for as long as he had the system.

Only the thought of him having to do this every morning, made tears uncontrollably pour from his eyes.

Panting and huffing Damien did his workout passing out every now and again until he had finally finished with all the workouts except for the 5km run, which he decided to do while he looked for breakfast.

Running along the forest, Damien felt the refreshing morning air hit his face as he jumped from tree branch to tree branch. As he surveyed the forest for a descent breakfast, he made sure to avoid any area remotely close to where he had fought the Titan Bear.

After moving for a while, Damien heard the familiar sound of the System's notification, the message prompt appeared before him.

<Daily Quest complete>

<Reward: 3 stat. points to distribute>

Damien then opened up his stats that had increased by 2 after his level up, to give it a look before deciding where to place his free stat. points.

<Stats.>

[ Strength– 6]

[ Agility– 8]

[ Stamina– 5]

[ Faith– 25]

[ Mind– 300]

Staring at his stats., Damien recalled his battle or more accurately his escape from the Titan Bear, he recalled how if not for Darius' battle awareness that he had recieved, he would have been minced meat.

Since he had not dared to strike the bear, he didn't know how tough the hide of the bear truly was, hence he didn't know if increasing his strength stat. would even make a difference.

Honestly, Damien loved his new gained speed, he saw how necessary being quick was, as it helped him evade the bear's strikes and later escape.

But what use is speed, if you can barely make a dent?

With that in mind, Damien increased his stats., as follows.

<Stats.>

[ Strength– 8]

[ Agility – 9]

[ Stamina– 5]

Glancing at his stats. in satisfaction, he closed his system to focus on finding breakfast.

Time passed quickly and Damien was still unable to find any thing to eat, crying and holding his growling stomach Damien cursed at his luck.

He recalled when he would get up before the sun rose, to head to the most famous pork cutlet shop just so he could have a decent serving.

Relishing on his memories, Damien's mouth watered with drool as his stomach roared to no end.

But just when all hope was lost, the sound of an oinking pig could be heard in the distance, Damien's eyes flickered with new found vigor and determination as he proceeded to stalk his prey.

In the distance with its head in the bushes, and its fat ass in the open, a pig munched on the shrubs and filth it found in the dirt.

Raising its head every now and again, it ate like a thief with caution, ready to run with its ass incase things went south, in its case it wasn't so far off.

In the distance, Damien could be spotted on top a tree, his eyes as sharp as deadly slits as he gazed at the ass of the pig in the shrubs.

With cautious heist, Damien proceeded to lift a make shift spear made from a tree branch with a sharpened tip.

With great precision, Damien threw his spear and in an instant struck the dirt next to the pig.

Frozen in fear, the pig saw its short, fat, life flash before it's eyes. Not wanting to know who threw the spear, it ran and squealed for help from it's porkan brothers.

With a speed the pig didn't know it could achieve, it dashed as far away as it could, as it wished to escape its predator, oblivious to the trap it had fallen into.

With the sound of breaking wind, the hair on its non-existent neck stood on end as it felt its impending demise, turning it's head to see its predator, it was met with a figure grasping a sword, as it aimed at its head with its hair freely flowing from its head and through the space between the locks of hair were its black eyes filled with hunger, the next second before it could piece together what it saw, it felt its head unwillingly leave its body as it rolled in the air before landing on the ground.

Damien lifted the pigs body and carried it back to the campsite, once he arrived, he carelessly skinned the pig with the meager knowledge he had, draining the blood before pulling of the hide.

Using herbs he had found in the forest, he seasoned the pig before roasting it on the fire he had earlier prepared, resisting his urges to devour the pig as it was, Damien controlled himself and once the pig was done, he began to devour the pig.

"Honestly... the dumber they are, the better they taste," Damien said, as he rubbed his tummy smiling in satisfaction.

'It's been awfully quiet since I woke', Damien thought to himself, since he had risen from the dead he had never had this much... quiet.

Suddenly a familiar voice rang in his head.

"That's because you haven't asked for any suggestions or advice from me, therefore, I have been silent." Nyrer said.

"You don't need my permission to speak.., it's not like you ever did." Damien said with a scoff as he recalled some of Nyrer's rather hurtful comments.

Okay then, what do you intend on doing next?" Nyrer asked.

"Well now, I'll have a loooong nap." Damien said with a yawn.

He was met with silence that lingered for a little longer, before he said again.

"I'll train, so I can kill the bear, and layer those bastards that killed me."

"3 days for the Bear, and 5 for the bastards." Damien said to Nyrer, with eyes that resembled a scorching fire and a lopsided smile, as he closed his eyes to slumber.
