Chapter 13: Origin (Part III)

It’s a lot to digest, that everything I thought was true, what my parents think is true, is a lie. Humans were the voice of reason, trying to end the war that would’ve caused Mystic life to be gone, and the Council sat on their a*ses and watched, knowing that they could’ve stopped it with one wave of a hand.

Even knowing the truth probably for years, Iris still falls apart because no one cares. Because our entire being was pushed aside, is pushed aside as shame takes over. Shame and hate because it’s impossible for us to fit in, to see ourselves as a part of society. And we are alone. Always alone.

I see why Iris wants to overwrite the rule, destroy it for good. We shouldn’t have to keep living like this, in ignorance and seclusion. The only way to break free of that is for there to be no more rule. No more control.
