A light breeze of stabbing coldness woke me up. My body was shaking and I didn't know why?
It was supposed to be summer. My eyes were closed and I was still figuring out why I was freezing- maybe I left the air conditioner on.
Impossible!
The thought only made my sluggish body jump to look at the air conditioner. Phew! I was glad it wasn't. My parents would make a big deal out of it. Still, why the hell was my room cold? I got out of bed and the cold ran through my body as my feet hit the ground.
I walked over to the window, pulled the curtains and wasn't sure what was going on. I couldn't see anything through as the window was frosted from the outside. I should probably seek an explanation from my parents.
I put on a jacket and a pair of socks to warm up bit. It was incredibly cold, I was still shaking as I slowly walked down the stairs. I checked to see if my mom was in the kitchen but no one was there. I tried to call them but there was no response. I searched the whole house and obviously I was alone.
"Is this a joke? Are they playing with me?" I couldn't stop thinking.
They must have gone to work early, but they could have at least made my breakfast.
I went back to my room, my phone was dead so I couldn't contact my friends. The outlets were frozen and lights did not come on. It was more freezing outside and I didn't want to go to school. Even though I wanted to meet my friends. I felt lonely cause I haven't spoken to anyone since I woke up.
Lonely? Friends?
The word "friends" echoed in my head. I could remember their names but couldn't have a clear idea of what they looked like. I continued to see their silhouettes.
Nevermind, I put on my uniform and winter accessories, took some money and grabbed my school bag. I opened the gate and left. At that precise moment, something was stretching out of my chest, precisely my heart.
What was that thing? A feeling? Loneliness? I didn't know.
When I turned to look at my house, it was gone. It was no longer there.
Instead, there was a huge, snow-capped gray rock like a two-story house.
Still, I didn't know what to feel.
"What is happening?" I whispered with a cold breath
Was I sad?
Many unfamiliar feelings seeped through my whole body. It was strange though, how could my "home" turn into a rock?
There was nothing I could do about it so I kept walking away. I had great difficulty walking. I was easily exhausted after walking only five meters from the rock. My bag wasn't that heavy, but it still felt I was carrying something burdensome. I felt I was chained to this rock and trying to move with it.
I had difficulty moving forward. No matter how much I moved forward, I was always glued to the same spot.
I didn't know how long it took for me to move an inch and my back was suddenly free as if the invisible chain was breaking. A lot of weird things have happened to me since the morning and I had no idea. The houses of the neighbors were also turned into rocks of different sizes and shapes. There was only the concrete road in front of me, so I kept walking.
I walked the quiet streets - no people, no cars, no animals. The silence was unbearable. I could only hear the irritating little noises of the insects hissing in my ears.
The wide sky was overflowing with large gray clouds. I was wondering if there would be a snowstorm or a blizzard. I really had no idea what was going on in my country.
My country? ... country?
What was it again? Have I forgotten the name of my country?
I really forgot the name of my country and at that time I was very scared. It was like I was in a nightmare and really wanted to wake up.
That was it! I was in a dream or a nightmare and I would wake up soon.
Knowing that I was in a dream, I decided to venture into it.
I was walking on the sidewalk and something caught my eye.
Not too far away there was a bus stop and a person was standing there...
