Chapter 5: Looking for a new home

The next morning, we packed our stuff and started our search for a new place to call home, we entered into the forest and went very deep in it, we kept on walking for nearly two hours, before we started to see a big mountain we didn't have enough equipment to climb it safely so we just kept walking on the side of the mountain, we thought that we could find a bigger cave then the previous one to take it as a base, however we found something that put us in a shock, we found someone dead, there wasn't any blood or flesh, there was just his bones and clothes left, the moment we saw his bones, James went running to the nearest tree and started vomiting , I felt really uncomfortable and almost vomited like James but I was able to stop it, I noticed that some of his bones were broken, and his dead body was near a cliff, so he must have died from falling from the cliff, after James calmed down we started checking on the dead person I found that he has a dairy and small bag with him, at the beginning I didn't want to take a look at his stuff however we don't have a choice, we need anything that can help us survive at this wild Island, after I took a look at his bag I found a metal knife, a pencil (well I suppose that he was using it to write his dairy), a box of matches ( it was half empty), and a really long rope ( it seem that it is very strong so it can't be cut easily) , I opened his dairy and started reading it, in summary it seem that he came to this island trough the orb just like us , but he was from another country and it seem that he has spent one year on the island, he divided the note book to parts one is his dairy , the second he wrote the information he have on the island (were to get food and water ,  some information on medicine how to use some of the wild plants to make simple medicine , the dangerous animals that can be found on the island and other things ) the last part there was  a map that was drawn by hand that show a part of the island it seems the island is so big that even after a year he couldn't explore all of it there was a mark on the map that show his base, and on the last page there was a letter that says:

                «to whoever found this dairy, my name is Leo and if you read this that must mean that I died if you want to know my story read my dairy on the first part of the note book, what I will say is that you can take whatever you want from my base there is a mark on the map that will show you the way, in return I want you to at least make a proper grave for me  if you can.»

             I told what I have read in the book to James, we were scared that we wouldn't be able to leave the island, I was starting to freak out until James hit me on the face and told me to calm down and that we will survive no matter what will happen, I calmed down and I grabbed the bag and started emptying the bag, I told James to pick up the stuff that I took out from the bag and put the bones in it and we headed to the mark that was on the map, we spent like two hours navigating our way through the forest and reached a cave, the entrance of the cave was hidden by some bushes and vines, the inside was spacious and perfect for a camp, and the best thing is that because the entrance is hidden the wild animals will not enter the cave, so we took it as our main base.
