CHAPTER 1: Dear Diary | Monday, January 19, 2021, 7:00 am.

*Today makes it another day with them. My new family.*

*My new life.*

*My outfit? A collared white shirt with long cuffed sleeves tucked into a black mini skirt and held up by two studded belts. I also put on some thigh-high white socks, black heels, and a bit of jewelry. Nothing too much. My hair will be in high-braided pigtails today.*

*It's my first day at my new school, "Beverly Hill High". I have mixed feelings about attending, but that's for later. It's time for breakfast now.*

*With them.*

*I'm not used to calling someone else 'dad' since I stopped calling my biological father when I was twelve. So it's kinda difficult now to call someone else by that title. Oh well, I have to join them for breakfast and head to school quickly. I'll write more later. Peace!*

_I closed my diary quickly, hiding it away in my trusted spot before dashing out of my room, and shutting the door. With a deep breath, I approached the table where the rest of the family sat._

"Good morning everyone" I greeted politely as I sat down.

"Good morning Christy" replied my mom with a smile. Endowed in a white maxi gown, light makeup, and hair resting on both shoulders.

"How was your night's rest?" she asked.

"Fine mama," I nodded, putting together my meal.

"Ready for school?" asked my stepdad, Robert. Dressed in his all-black manly suit and a cold face.

"Yes Robert, I am, and you? Ready for work?" I asked as well.

"Yes, I am, thank you", without his expression changing one bit. "You should hurry up and eat your breakfast," he gestured to my plate.

I immediately began to dig into my breakfast -tropical granola with milk- when my little step-sister, Melody, spoke up.

"Sis, you look gorgeous, welcome to the family again" She beamed full of smiles, making it the tenth time she welcomed me to the family.

She's honestly adorable.

"Thanks, Melody dear, I'm happy to be here" I gave a small smile in return.

_I don't think I meant this, did I? Well, whatever._

I hurriedly ate the last of my breakfast, bade everyone bye, and had just made it out of the house when my new driver, Joseph, held open the door of one of the many cars owned by Robert.

I sighed, remembering Joseph would be driving me to school. On our way, he spoke up while driving.

"Welcome Miss. Christiana, it's a pleasure to serve you. You can call me anytime you need a ride somewhere"

I rolled my eyes and gave him a pleasant smile with a nod,

"Thank you," I said.

In no time we had reached the school. Joseph left me at the gates, driving off with a wave and I could only stare at the huge white and black building that looked like a palace. `Beverly Hill High School` sat emblazoned broadly atop the building. I smiled internally, walking through the big open black gates.

I stared around clueless, students went on with their morning with subtle glances in my direction. Soon, a voice called out my name loudly like a microphone was used. I winced, searching for the owner of said voice, my eyes widened slightly in surprise and happiness.

It was my godbrother, Mike Daniel Markus, the son of my godmother, Christiana Markus.

He ran towards me and we hugged each other tight, "Welcome to Beverly Hill High! I am happy to see you here." he said with a broad smile, showing his perfectly white dentition like a vampire's.

"Thanks, Mike, I'm happy to see you too," I replied.

"Come, let me introduce you to everyone", he took my hand and pulled me forward up the stairs, I followed without saying a word.

After walking a few twists and turns in the large school, Mike opened a door to a wide room with the description `Art department, Grade 12` above the classroom's door. He pulled me in while I couldn't help but stare. The class looked beautiful and the people there were scattered around doing all sorts of things: Some were reading, others singing or writing, a few sleeping while some were either playing or chatting with their friends.

Walking to the front of some students who were chatting, they stopped when they saw us approach, Mike still pulling me along.

"Hi guys, meet my god sister, Princess Christiana Haje Robert Singanian Tobiloba Williams Nai"

"..." Some stared in silence for a moment, and I could hear some whispers.

"Damn,"

"Long names.."

"The whole naming certificate huh..?"

"Hi!" A few waved cheerfully

"Hi," I responded, staring at each of them through my brown-black eyes, my slit pupils flickering around in observation. I've been told my eyes look like that of a cat.

"Welcome to the family," said one of the girls, whom I would later know as Laura.

"Thanks, I'm happy to be here" I replied. She nodded in approval.

"How does it feel to be part of the royal family?" A guy asked, staring in curiosity. Dandan is his name, so I would find out.

"It's.. nice, kinda weird though" I replied with a quick smile that did not reach my eyes.

"Let me introduce you to every one of them," Mike offered. I nodded and he began, gesturing to each person as he spoke.

"Meet Dandan Rome, James Christon, Laura Martin-"

"Of course she knows me," interrupted Laura.

"Yeah, yeah she knows", Mike rolled his eyes.

"As I was saying, meet John Kind, Barbie Storm, Titi Rock, Daniel Jasper, Henry Wood, Tope Afolabi, Sarah Love, Hawthorne Winter, Bonita Phillip, Rosamond Guit, Dave Leonard, Ayuba Benjamin, Beauty Prince. These are my gang members, with you here will be the ninth" he said smiling.

"Thanks for having me" I nodded in appreciation.

After a while, a teacher came into the class, "Good morning everyone!"

"Good morning Miss Beny!" they all responded, getting to their seats quickly.

She saw me immediately and called me forward.

"Everyone, I would like to introduce you to our very beautiful newbie, Princess Christiana Haje Robert Singanian Tobiloba Williams Nai, she will be joining us from now on, please welcome her warmly," she said.

Everyone clapped, some more hesitantly. "You can just call me Christiana," I said to them.

"Christiana dear," Miss Beny called.

"Yes ma'am?" I replied.

"Go take a seat next to Laura," she said.

I walked forward to the row where Laura was sitting and sat next to her.

"Happy to have you as my seat partner," she said, "Thanks" I responded smiling at her.

Two to three hours later, we were done with our first lecture before a break, but I preferred to stroll around to get to know the environment better. I found out that the school was populated not only with humans but other creatures; vampires -both pure bloods and haflings-, werewolves, fox hybrids, elves, demons, Nāgas (half snake-half human creatures), witches, and even people born with supernatural powers and abilities.

On my way to my next class, I bumped into a vampire with deep dark red eyes, reading books that I talked about often. I believe he was a pure-blood vampire.

"Sorry," I apologized.

"No probs," he replied in a calm tone.

"Are you new here? I've never seen you before," he said, scanning me from head to toe with his crimson gaze.

"Yes, I am new" was my reply.

"Welcome"

"Thank you" I replied politely.

We left quickly, passing each other by after our little chat.
