A Sudden Change

"Haaaays, It's been a month since I came into this new world and still, nothing happens" A teenager around at the age of 14 was sitting on the balcony while watching birds flying around and the sun rising higher.

His name is Seion Curatonia ( Read as Sey-yon Cura-tonya). He lived on earth before but he already died out of sickness.

He has an inborn sickness that made his body really frail to the point that he cannot go out and play with others. He is always staying in their house while watching movies and anime, reading books, and cooking foods.

His kidney had already failed and they didn't found any suitable donor and that was the reason he died.

After he died, he found himself of another body but with the same name. He also inherited his memory.

He was really happy that he given another chance to live and the world where he transmigrated is a world where magic exists. He was really excited about this.

In this world, his parents already died because of a tragic hunting incident. They were hunting together at the Shivusha forest and unluckily, a Monster stampede occurs resulting in their tragic death.

The Seion of this world lived with the money that his parents left in case something happens in them.

As Seion checked the memory of the Seion on this world, he found out that Seion had a problem in his body. Then he checked it and found out that he has a fractured life bar.

The life bar is where the life energy came from the hearthstone is stored. When the life bar becomes full, it will upgrade to another level. He was still at the mortal stage but if he fully-charged his Life bar, he can reach Fighter 1 realm.

The lifespan of a certain person or monster is based on their Life bar and it's level. In the fighter realm, every advance will add 50 years in your life span.

Although he is still mortal, his lifespan will be able to reach 70 to 100 years but when he checked it, he was really disappointed and nearly depressed on the spot. His life bar was fractured and this means that the life energy that is stored within will leak out. When the life energy of a person leaked out, their lifespan will be shortened and they will die prematurely.

He didn't expect this problem to occur. Based on his deduction there are only 6 months left in his lifespan. He was really happy that he can live his fantastical life in this new world but the reality sucks and he will die without enjoying his second life.

He immediately checked the Internet if there is some cure or solution for his problem but he was disappointed. This problem has no solution as of now and many people died prematurely because of it.

He felt that his soul was about to dissipate. His dreams and his second life will be taken immediately without enjoying all of it. He just sat down at the corner waiting for some miracle to happen but there is none.

He watched anime, read books, and manga when he was still on earth. In his situation, he became a transmigrator. In those fantasy anime he watched, transmigrators have what they call cheats that making them stronger than anyone in their current world. Some have legendary weapons, some have an affinity to all elements of magic, and so on.

But in his case, what was given to him was not a cheat but a problem. He just lazed sadly in the house every day waiting for some miracle to happen.

The world where is right now is in the world of Reon. Reon is a world of fantasy. This world is on the pinnacle of prosperity, the security is good, there are no poor citizens and there is no racial discrimination. Their internet is really fast and even downloading large amounts of files will be finished in no time.

This world was under the jurisdiction of the Armaments of Humanity. This name means that it is the weapon of humanity that can be used to fight evil beings.

The Armaments of Humanity is the one who is responsible for the security of this world. They placed guards to keep every city is secured.

The cities in this world were divided by ranks. It was rank S down to rank F. Rank F cities are the poorest cities in this world. They were not poor in terms of food and money but they were considered poor because their taxes are small because there is only a small population inhabiting the city.

Seion was living in one of the Rank F city and its name is Wind city. The Wind City was a rural type city. There are only a few tall buildings compared to the rank A and S cities where every direction you turn is filled with tall buildings.

At the age of fourteen, the Seion in this world already stopped attending school because he already knew that he won't last long in this world. Maybe the reason for the death of the original Seion of this world must be because he reached the end of his lifespan.

The age where a student can graduate in school is around 16 and that was the time where they will decide either they will become a hunter or pursue higher education.

He sighed, "What an unlucky life I got. I just got transmigrated and I was now about to die soon. Do the heavens really hate me that much?"

The sun has already set in the west and the smiling crescent moon appeared in sky along with the little glitters known as stars.

The night was quiet, no cars going to and fro. It was a peaceful rank F city. It is the ideal place to live peacefully for the rest of your life. Seion took his bath after eating his dinner. He wore his pajamas and was about to sleep when he heard a loud alarm sounded within the city and an announcement followed.

"Citizens, a Monsters stampede is happening 1 Km away from our city and its heading towards our city. Those who can fight please help the guardians to repel them and you will be rewarded fairly. And to those who cannot fight, please stay at your home and hide. We cannot make sure to kill every monster so there has a chance that they will enter our city and wreak havoc. I repeat..."

Then Seion just ignored it. He cannot fight and although his house is near the gate, the monsters will still unable to break through the Guardians' defense.

He lied on his bed and closed his eyes. He was about to fall asleep when he heard screams for his neighbor.

He immediately wears his sandals and grabbed the shotgun and some exploding bullet that is hanging on the wall.

His father left the gun hanging in the wall because he said that it might be useful in the future. And now is the time that he might be able to use that gun.

The screams came from the house beside his house or in short, his neighbor. His neighbor was a family of three people, a father, a mother, and a lovely little daughter.

They were quite close based on this world's Seion's memory. Because he was orphaned at a young age, the family always invited him for dinner, and sometimes he was asked to watch their daughter when they're on a trip or at work.

They didn't know about his condition. And if he didn't transmigrate, they will only found a cold body lying inside Seion's house.

After leaving his house, he arrived immediately at his neighbor's house. The door was locked and even though his fractured Life bar did not affect his physical prowess, his strength was still enough to ram the door.

So he aimed his shotgun at the doorknob and fired it and the doorknob was destroyed allowing him to open the door and entered the house.

The sight he saw as soon as he entered the living room made him feel the greatest fear in his life. He saw a dead body of a woman lying on the floor with some grey matters coming out from the hole on the top of her head. Her eyes were open wide and fear is evident on her eyes.

Then he saw a giant spider. The giant spider is bigger than an average human and based on Seion's memory, it is the Brain-sucking spider.

The Brain-sucking spider is a fighter-2 arachnid type monster that has a straw-like mouth or a proboscis that it uses to suck the brain of its prey. It mainly preys on other monsters on the forest but based on research human brains are the tastiest delicacy for them.

Then Seion heard a cry of a little child from the corner. Her tears flowing down from her eyes like rivers that flowing non-stop. The Brain-Spider turned towards where the little girl is.

Then by that time, Seion noticed that the spider already sucked the father of this family's brain. He was leaning against the wall while his grey matter slowly dripping down from the hole on his forehead down to his face with his eyes bulging out in fear.

The Brain-eating spider finally reached her after walking for a couple of seconds. The spider didn't notice Seion at all. The spider extended its Proboscis and was about to pierce the little girl's skull.

"HEY SPIDER! COME AND GET ME!" Seion shouted to taunt spider and divert its attention from the little girl towards him.

Then the spider was quite infuriated when he heard Seion's shout and then it immediately runs towards Seion's position.

Seion was about to pull the trigger and shot the spider but it is too fast and shoved Seion away. Seion was pushed back and his back hit the wall. He groaned in pain but he endured it and stood up again.

Seion runs upstairs and the spider followed him. If they battled in the upstairs, the spider won't be able to hurt the little girl and he can shot his guns without worrying about hitting her.

Then he dodged most of its attacks but he was still hit sometimes. His body was shouting in pain but he still needs to fight in order to save the little girl.

The second floor of the house was so devastated as if a small tornado entered the house and wreaked havoc there. The furnitures were reduced into rubbles while the wooden floor was filled with cracks and holes.

Then the Brain-eating spider charged at him, he wanted to dodge but he suffered injuries so he got hit and flew away. His back crashed on the wall and his body fell. He lies at the floor lifelessly. The Brain-eating spider walked towards him and when he was about to pierce Seion's forehead, a loud bang was heard and the spider fell down.

It was Seion who shot the spider dead. He just feigned about collapsing to lower the spider's guard and then shot it from a point-blank range.

The spider's body pressed on to him. It was really heavy and he tried to shove it away but he felt something warm that flowed from the Brain-eating spider towards his body and directing to his life bar.

He immediately focused his consciousness towards his life bar and saw his life bar filled by that warm energy. It was as if he absorbed the life energy inside the monster and made it his own. The Life energy that flowed into his body healed most of his internal and external injuries but his body still aches from the fight.

He was happy, really happy. This must be his gift ability from the transmigration! His face was filled with smile and excitement but it was turned immediately into disappointment.

The life energy he absorbed immediately escaped his life bar through its fractured part. His life bar was akin to a drum of water that has holes around, even how you fill it with water, it wouldn't get full no matter what.

He came back to his sense and shove the Brain-eating spider away. Then, he heard rushed footsteps nearing to him and a crying kid, it was the daughter of this family.

He immediately hugged her and asked her, "Sheena? Are you ok?"

She nodded but refrained from answering. She just cry and cried while hugging Seion.

'Maybe I can fix my life bar through absorbing monsters' life energy!' he said in his thoughts excitedly. Finally, after waiting for a month, he can finally see a glimmer of hope.
