The Devil's Shadow
"Let's get to the most urgent matter at hand," Zhan Sheng said after the magistrate's long-winded monologue. "We must remove Emperor Gong Yijun's shadow guards once and for all in over for me to take the throne."
A heavy silence rang out in the room.
Everybody knew the Emperor was nearly untouchable with the Moonlit Blades, his shadow guards, keeping him safe. The rebellion against the empire had just begun, and they would need a lot of support from the other clans in order to take down the empire.
"But how do we even begin to tackle such a daunting task?" asked Li Wei, breaking the silence. "These shadow guards are some of the most skilled fighters in the kingdom. They're not going to go down easily."
"Gong Yijun's shadow guards are a thorn in our side," Zhan Sheng sneered. "But luckily for us, we have his precious Zi Yin. The General will want to strike a bargain for his son."
