Chapter 2

Isabella was in a flurry. She had so much to do before the ceremony. Isabella was not a normal princess as she would never have any servants and she would help out around the castle and trim the garden and bake in the kitchen just like the servants. She would refuse to have anyone work for her as she would say to here father "why have people work for me when I can do those things on my own." You see the king was very occupied with her brothers Nickolas, Darren and Joseph as one of them was to become king and take his place and therefore he didn't care what Isabella did. Everyday was a normal day where she would go into the market to meet her friends Madeline and Klara and they would spend the day riding around the meadows together on horseback. It was all normal until the day her mother died.

When the devil receives a sacrifice he is supposed to eat it and throw away the remains of it. And this has been done for centuries as the moment when you enter the undergrowth you become immortal as you cannot look and the devils kingdom and go back to the human world above. If you do go back then the price is death. Once the devil had been dressed he went into the great hall in which a spread of breakfast had been prepared. As he walked through the hall all you could hear was the eco of his shoes against the floor. He looked around the long table where he used to throw parties and dance the night away with the minorities, but the room had now become sad and cold as he never threw parties for anything. He was lonely in his big castle.
