14. Eleanora's past drifting her away

CHAPTER 14 : ELEANORA'S PAST DRIFTING HER AWAY

"Eleanora." Alexander called out, his voice gentler than he had intended to.

"Don't touch her-" Ethan was shouting when Alexander lifted his face, his eyes cold and murderous, making Ethan shut his mouth.

"Eleanora." Alexander called out again, this time his voice was more stable as he extended his hand to place on her shoulder.

"Please don't hurt me again, Alex." Eleanora said weakly as Alexander's hand froze mid-air.

'What is she saying? Have we met before? Why does she keeps calling me Alex? When have I hurted her before this? When? Where? How? When?' Alexander's thought were all chaotic by then.

As for Eleanora, finally the past started fading from her mind and soon she was completely blank. She took a deep breath before opening her eyes, taking in her surroundings before she realised where she was.

She immediately stood up, searching for Ethan who was looking at her with a weird gaze.

"Eth-" Eleanora tried to call out but Ethan turned around and walked away, not stopping even once.

'What did I do? What exactly did I do that Ethan was looking at me like that? No, no. Get yourself together Ellie! Maybe chase him. Yes! Go behind him-' Eleanora was still thinking when she felt a strong hand holding her from behind.

She turned around, meeting those onyx black eyes which sucked the life out of her body.

"Alex, I.." Eleanora tried to speak but to no avail.

Alexander looked in the direction where Ethan went, before holding Eleanora's arm and pulling her behind him.

"Alex! Alex what are you doing? Stop this! You can not do this with me. Alex I said stop it! Why? Why-" Eleanora was shouting loudly when Alexander stopped with a jerk, and turned around, placing his index finger on her lips.

And Eleanora immediately stopped talking, especially after watching the anger in his eyes which were now red. Alexander closed his eyes, taking a deep breath as his Adam's apple bobbed up and down, his efforts to not lash out on Eleanora visible.

She simply let him drag her all the way to his VIP room before stopping near his bed, Eleanora losing her balance once again and colliding into him, but she was quick to recover this time and stand back again.

"When have I hurted you?" Alexander asked straight to the point.

"I.. no.. it didn't.. I-" 

"Why do you keep calling me Alex?" Alexander brushed the previous question before asking this.

"We.." Eleanora started but paused immediately, knowing there was no use explaining this to him.

"Have we met before?" Alexander asked again.

But Eleanora kept looking at him, witnessing the anger rise with each unanswered question.

"Do you even know-" Alexander was burning from rage when suddenly his eyes went wide and he collapsed, falling on Eleanora who obviously was not enough to maintain his balance, making both of them land on his bed, Alexander on top of Eleanora.

"Alex! Alex, open your eyes!! Alex, can you hear me? Alex!!" Eleanora called out but to no avail. 

She was unable to wake him nor to get up from beneath his hulk sized body.

She looked everywhere, panicking a little before pressing the emergency bell near bed, which was fortunately within her reach even in this position.

Within five seconds, Tyler came rushing inside along with other men. And thankfully instead of looking he immediately lifted his boss off Eleanora's body, making her take a deep breath to compensate for the lack of oxygen.

"What happened?" He asked, a lot calmer compared to what the situation in front of him was.

But Eleanora instead of answering him, immediately connected the Intravenous to his intracath, administering some injections in it.

She attached the pulse-oxygen probe to his finger before tying BP cuff around his arm, taking in his vitals.

Once the monitor showed that it was within her control, she spoke.

"His anger led to this." She said, slowing down the speed of IV fluid.

Tyler just kept looking at Eleanora, expecting a more detailed explanation, but she didn't.

"Once he is awake, we will need to get another CT scan done, just to be on the safer side." Eleanora said, as Tyler nodded, asking his men to convey the same to nurses stationed outside this floor.

"Dr. Rosenheim, I am not sure what exactly happened between you too. But the boss is definitely not the one to act on impulse. Yes he gets tremendously angry, but he usually kicks away the source of his anger.

Unfortunately he is not firing you and this is why I would ask you to please not anger him anymore. I know he can be a little unreasonable at times, but please cooperate for the time being.

And please don't think that I am threatening you, but if anything happens to the boss, his family would make your life a living hell.

Fortunately only me and my men know about todays situation and his family had some other emergency, so they won't be knowing about this incident. But don't let this repeat again." Tyler said politely in a low voice, before retreating, leaving a frozen Eleanora behind as the gravity of this situation suddenly settled in her mind.

She took a stool before sitting beside his bed, looking at the peaceful Alexander which was a rare sight, remembering another instance from her past.

Eleanora was attending Anastasia's i.e Alexander's younger sister's wedding. She was sitting alone at one of the tables when daughter of another business man came to insult her.

She was yet another fangirl of Alexander, who insulted her loudly, making sure that everyone was witnessing.

When Alexander was notified about this, he came running for Eleanora.

"Tell your dad that our business is over." He had said before taking Eleanora's hand and leaving mid ceremony.

And with every single such instance, Eleanora's hate for Alexander only escalated, as he was the lone source for all this unnecessary insult in her life.

"Why don't you retaliate?" Alexander had asked when they reached his car, his voice full of anger.

"When you don't respect me, how will others do?" Eleanora had said with a smile that didn't reach her eyes.

"Are we all the same? Them and me?" Alexander had asked, even more angry from her statement and Eleanora had replied yes.

The next moment, Alexander stopped his car in a building parking and forced himself on Eleanora, not giving her a chance to even scream.
