Chapter One:She Only Wanted To live.

A hundred years ago.

[Earth Realm]

~~~
"Uriel, I don't want to lose my baby. I don't want to lose her!" Ophelia cried out, rubbing her hand protectively, over her baby bump. She was highly protective of her child, considering that it was proclaimed that she is a monster that would destroy the world.
The tears wouldn't stop flowing down her cheeks, scared at the thought of losing her child. At this point, death was staring them right in the face. As if to prove her point, the wind suddenly picked up and she noticed the change in the atmosphere.
They were here.
Who are they?
The executioner; Micheal and his soldiers.
They were here for her.
They were here, for her child.
"Ophelia, We are not losing our baby. Listen to me," Uriel turned to her, grabbing onto her shoulders tightly, not that she was listening to him anyway. She was lost in her thoughts.
Uriel was an angel, soon to be fallen just like his brother Lucifer. He bet Lucifer would be cheering his failure - at his inability to meet their father's standards.
He felt weak and frustrated, watching the woman he loved crying and cowering in fear, for the safety of their child and he was helpless to do anything.
Their baby was innocent!
She had no sin in her!
Apparently, the only crime she committed was being a product of an affair between a human and an angel.
Intimacy between a human, and an angel resulting in the birth of a Nephilim, was forbidden. It was a sacred rule and he broke it. Now, his child had to pay for his sins.
His father even condemned Lucifer for planning the rebellion against him, and he had been an advocate to send his brother out of heaven for such a betrayal crime. It was quite ironic, that he too committed a heinous crime that would send him out of heaven.
Nephilim are vile and selfish creatures with no regard for human life. Sadly, the Highlord loved his humans, and Nephilim's killing his precious works was the point he drew the line. So their father banned such an association, and Uriel imposed the rule and kept to it as well.
Until he saw her.
Ophelia. Or as he fondly called her, Lia.
The very first human to catch his attention. It was merely an interest at first, until it evolved into something stronger and he couldn't resist her. The humans call it love at first sight, but Uriel knew it was more than that.
Ophelia is his soulmate, and right now he will do anything to save her and the baby growing inside of her, even if it means fighting against his family.
He will protect her!
"Listen to me Ophelia, nobody is going to touch a hair on you…"
But Ophelia cut him off, "They called her… a monster... " Her voice cracked at the end.
"They called my baby a mon..ster"
"My father was only trying to convince you into killing the baby, Ophelia. You need to stop harboring such thoughts –"
"But what about the prophecy?"She remembered, rendering him speechless.
"Uriel, you can't let our child die, you have to do something," She grabbed onto his arms as the wind gained more strength, whipping hard against her skin. They will soon be here for her, to remove that thing in her womb.
Uriel said to her, "I think i might be able to send you somewhere." He tried to pull her along but she stopped him.
"Until when do i have to continue hiding?" She asked, with a strong tone of resentment towards Uriel. This was all his fault!
"This is not time for this Lia, Micheal and the rest  of his men will be here soon and this is not going to end well"
He went for her hand again, but Ophelia refused him, she could be quite stubborn at times. Unfortunately, this wasn't the time for a lover's squat.
"I'm not leaving until i have the spear of destiny with me to ensure my child's safety, don't you get it?!" She shouted, almost losing consciousness from the stress of the whole ordeal, but Uriel was quick in holding her before she fell to the floor.
"I can't do that Ophelia, that's too dangerous for our baby, nor do we have enough time and you know that too?"
"I don't care!" She spat at his face, her anger growing with each passing moment, "Don't you get it? I will rather die trying to change her destiny, than live with my baby being called a monster. We have to change her fate, Uriel, so please…" She begged him.
It was a suicide mission to go into the hall of the Fallen to get that spear, a forbidden treasure that had only done more harm than good to anyone who possessed it. It was said a long time ago that one of the fallen angels used that to change his fate, after he fell in love with a human who only ended up killing him, after witnessing the power of the Spear of destiny.
One can have a fair amount of power if they had that in their possession. It was called the spear of destiny for its greatness. The fallen angel who once possessed the Spear of Destiny, was able to trade her immortality and became human thanks to its help.
Unfortunately, human nature is wicked and angels are not used to such nature, not even among the fallen ones. She was killed by her pathetic human lover, who discovered the power of the Spear and wanted it for himself. This was another reason why intimacy between human, and celestial beings was highly prohibited. Human nature corrupts everything in its path, and angels were not made to have such a nature.
Although Ophelia's intention for her baby was pure and sincere, she simply wanted to change the fate of her baby. But then, what are the chances she wouldn't get greedy for more?
"Uriel!"
Michael's menacing voice boomed across the earth, and he knew at once that his brother was here. His brother was furious and everyone knew nothing, but disaster followed every time Micheal was in a foul mood.
"We have to leave right now," Uriel began to drag her along, looking around with his enhanced sight. He felt it, his brother and his entourage were closing in on them.
"I have to get my hands on that spear uri.."
"But you wouldn't live another day if we don't leave …" Uriel's statement was cut short,by the sudden lightning force that struck him, sending him flying meters away from where she stood.
"Uriel!!"Ophelia screamed in shock, holding onto her stomach as she watched him groan in deep pain from the attack.
Uriel had lost his powers, which was a punishment from his father, and couldn't even defend himself now. Not to mention that his brother Micheal was a warrior, the defender of their father's throne. His father's favorite son.
"Finally, I found you, "Micheal grinned with a burning rage in his eyes, looking at his brother struggling to stand up, before his gaze fell on Ophelia. The woman who was responsible for all of this. He loathed her!
"Ophelia run.." Uriel warned her, wanting to save her but some oppressive force kept him on the ground, and he wasn't able to lift even a finger.
He knew that it was Micheal's doing, and Uriel knew deep down that he could never win against him. Micheal was cold-hearted and cutthroat, always doing the work of his father no matter what. He would never understand, not with his foul temper.
"There's no point doing that, you pathetic human, "Micheal cursed, facing Ophelia and using his power to trap her in the same spot.
"Leave her alone, brother, she has done nothing wrong!" Uriel begged him, fighting against his power all to no avail.
Micheal walked over to where Ophelia's feet, were rooted to the ground and stared at her with a smirk.
"Please…my baby, "Ophelia cried out, "She's innocent, don't kill my.."
''Then you shouldn't have created such an abomination in the first place," Micheal placed his hand on her stomach, a strange light appeared in his palm, and in the next minute, Ophelia screamed in pain.
"Ophelia!" Uriel was filled with so much rage, and need to protect his woman that he somehow broke out of Michael's hold and ran over to the scene. Uriel might have lost his power, but he still had his supernatural strength and with that, he hit Micheal in the face forcing him back.
Uriel caught Ophelia before she fell, fear washing over him when she wouldn't open her eyes.
"Lia stay with me," He begged, cupping her face to look at him, "I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have dragged you into this." But there was no response from her.
Micheal was back to his feet again and said to Uriel, "You know she was meant to die with that thing living inside of her, brother, no hard feelings but it was the right thing to …"
With an aggrieved wail, Micheal's words were cut short by the incoming attack from Uriel, but he was too weak and blinded by emotion. He countered every one of Uriel's moves and beat him up instead.
"Father would be proud of me for ending this madness now and for all…" Micheal trailed off, moving to where  Ophelia was lying and picked her body effortlessly from the ground.
"Leave her alone!" Uriel shouted, struggling to get on his feet, but he was too tired.
"Spar..e my baby pl..ease" Micheal was startled when he heard that woman's voice. She should be dead by now, but she had a great fighting spirit. An admirable trait but it was too late.
"You should rest in peace now, human," Micheal closed his palm over her eyes.
"No! I will kill you, Micheal! I will kill you!" Uriel shouted, watching the tears leave  Ophelia's eyes as his brother raised his hand, summoning a lightning strike, and was ready to end her.
"Please live…" Ophelia placed her hand on her stomach as if speaking to her child.
Micheal released the lightning bolts and that was until it happened…
