When You are already Impressive

"Wait. What?" Eden asked, looking at Ages, his eyes widening.

"What's wrong?" Ages asked but Eden only held the phone up and placed it in loudspeaker.

"Can you say that again, honey?" He asked and they heard shuffling in the background before the automated voice began again.

"Am I in loudspeaker?"

"Yes."

"Ok, listen carefully. The two girls are Mia and Alice. They go to Hotori High and are both sixteen years old, in the same class, eleven.

"They are neighbours and childhood friends. Their families are very close so they practically grew up together. I have their parent's names but I don't think that will be too important at the moment.

"Cutting to the chase, it seems like both their families are reported as missing as of this morning. The neighbours reported them as their houses looked ransacked when the friends of the girls went to their houses to pick them up.

"They are not from your territory, Eden. But they are from the Wolf's Bane Territory. I will be sending the rest of the information I collected to all your phones. Please tell me if you need any more help."

"You are such a gem, Noel!" Eden said, showing Noel with praise after praise. "I am so fortunate to have someone so talented and brilliant an-

"Please stop." The voice said keeping the call immediately.

"Awww~. He's shy." Eden said, looking at his phone with a bright smile on his face as his phone along with Fern, Ages, Hayden, and Harper began to ring with notifications.

Pulling out her phone, Harper stared at the message from an unregistered number and stared at the profiles of the two girls along with their parents' and grandparents'.

"Are we sure these are the girls?" Fern asked, looking at the information.

"Are you saying that Noel is wrong?" Eden asked, raising an eyebrow at the man. "Well, not that that is a problem. I am sure Noel can prove himself, if he wants to."

"There is a chance that this is them," Harper said, looking at the burnt face of one of the girls. "There is a faint resemblance. But we can't tell from here. We will still see if we can find their identities somehow."

"Just saying, if it is them." Ages said, looking up from his phone. "That means that they are from the enemy territory. Why are they here then?"

"Wolf's Bane will not kill their own people just to make us uncomfortable, right? What are they going to do, accuse us of murder?"

"I think that is it," Eden said, quickly typing into the phone.

"Huh?"

"Call a meeting of all the captains," Eden said, grinning at them. "Tell them to come to the meeting room in twenty minutes. We don't have a second to waste. And, Harper, I know that these two are the ones that Noel sent the profiles of."

"You would think that about your partner, Eden." She said, still very sceptical. "He could just be trying to look cool in front of you too, Eden. Most of what he gave are speculations."

Suddenly another notification ding came on everyone's phones, the instant Eden looked at the message, a wide grin came on his face.

"Do you believe him now?" he asked, tilting his head to the side as the woman stared at the video sent of the two girl's kidnapping and subsequent killing in very quick snippets.

It wasn't very clear in the video but they can make out that they are them in that trailer like video.

"How- how did he even get these videos?" She asked, turning the video off immediately. "Where did he get them from?"

"Hello? Noel?" Eden picked up his ringing phone. "Yes, we saw it. Yes. OK."

Holding his phone out, the man put it on loudspeaker. "Say hello, Noel."

"Can you all hear me?" Noel's automated voice asked again.

"Yes, loud and clear."

"Ok, one of my sources caught of a whiff of that video uploaded in a secret, private net and sent them to me after I asked if they have anything on those girls.

"Those videos I sent you are only snippets. There is only one copy of the video around and an auction is being carried out to be sold to the highest bidder. Once the person buys it, there will be no more traces of this video to exist anymore.

"The bid will end soon. What do you suggest?"

Harper looked at Hayden who nodded at her.

"Buy it."

"Alright. I will delete this number and everything in it in ten seconds. So that no one can be traced. I will send you the entire report when I have compiled it."

"We will wait for you then," Eden said, trying not to gush with pride and embarrass Noel. As if he didn't already do that before. "We can put this off for later on and-"

"Eden?"

"Yes?" Eden looked at the phone, surprised. He thought he kept the call already.

"It's lonely here."

Instantly, Eden felt a surge of energy fill him, "I will take care of everything here and come to you quickly. Just wait for me."

"Ok."

"Bye." Eden kept the phone and turned to Ages. "Are they coming or not?!"

"They have all said that they are on the way." Ages said, looking at his phone. "Hmm? Where did that number go? Your boyfriend's one."

"All traces of it is gone. Just like he said." Fern observed. "He really is quick. Exactly ten seconds."

"Do you think he will be able to get the video?" Harper asked, slightly concerned. "If only one of those exists then there will be a ton of people trying to buy it right?"

"Yes. I wonder if he will be able to get his hands on it." Ages said, thinking. "If he isn't able to then … what do we do?"

"We need to conduct our own research," Harper said. "I will employ the best in my team to find out what they can about these two girls. Can't let Eden's boyfriend do all the work."

"You'd better not," Eden said, rolling his eyes at her. "If I find out you are, I will not even spare you, harper."

"How did you even find someone so capable, boss?" Hayden asked, laughing before pain overtook his expression. "Ouch."

"You are still recovering, don't do anything stupid," Eden said, taking the helmet from Fern and began walking to his motorbike. "About how I met him … maybe I am just blessed, you know?"

"Shut the fuck up," Hayden said, rolling his eyes at the man.

Sticking his tongue out at Hayden, Eden turned to Harper. "I will leave the rest to you then. Contact me if anything is wrong, ok?"

"You don't need to tell me twice." She said, giving him a half-hearted salute.

"I will be going ahead then. Ages! Fern! Hayden! Hurry up! You all have ten minutes to get there." He shouted, putting on his helmet before driving away.

"There he goes again," Fern said, watching him go.

"How he is able to make it this far, I wonder sometimes," Harper said, shaking her head.

"He is an excellent leader." Ages said, shrugging. "As much as I do not want to admit it. Why do you think we still follow him so wholeheartedly?"

"Well, you aren't wrong about that." She chuckled, grinning at the man. "Are you three leaving now then?"

"We have to," Fern said, sighing. "But I will need to pick my leader up first."

"As always. He hasn't changed at all." Hayden said, laughing while holding his side in pain.

"He'll be happy to see you, Captain Hayden," Fern said nonchalantly. "Celt has been talking nonstop about you every time he is drunk."

"I don't really know what to feel about that." Hayden laughed, doubling over in pain again. "I really need to stop doing that."

"Agree," Harper said, turning from them to the people around her, giving her orders to start cleaning everything up and report everything back to her in the office.

"Shall we get going then?" Ages asked as the three began to walk to a car parked at the side of the road. "I will take you there, Hayden."

"I was hoping you would. I didn't have any vehicle with me and Harper is too busy." The man said sheepishly.

"What about you, Fern?" Ages asked, turning to the man. "Will you come with us or?"

"I have my own vehicle. I will pick Celt up first and then we will make our way to the meeting hall." Celt said as they spotted another car behind Ages's.

"Where is Celt by the way?" The red-haired man asked, leaning against Ages's car. "Aren't you two always connected to the hip?"

"As soon as he heard about what happened, he told me to check on that and ran to the other direction. I have an idea of where he might be so I will check there first. See you both in a while." He said, getting into the car and driving off.

"Bye! Bye!" Hayden waved as the man drove off.

Hopefully, that idiot is not out getting himself caught.

Warning: It will get more brutal from here.
