Sirius The Bastard God

Having introduced himself in such a grand manner, Sirius, the god of fortune, looks visibly pleased with himself. You could almost picture that if he had arms they'd be crossed, as his chin would point slightly upwards full of pride.

The boy however, grimaced at the mention of the word 'god'. His soul shuddered as the faint violet light flickered briefly. That word seems to hold unpleasant memories for Fey, and as his partner and tenant, Sirius noticed it too.

[*Fufufufufu* yes, but you can call me Sirius, little Fey]

Taking a moment the reaffirm himself, Fey calls out his name for the first time.

'Sirius'

[Yes, yes! You'd do well to remember me little Fey, for we are partners from now on. You see, you and I, we share a soul now]

Fey frowned at the mention of sharing a soul, perhaps he had not fully realized what kind of deal he had made until now. The thought of every action being under someone else's scrutiny is certainly unpleasant.

As if he could read minds, Sirius rightfully, or perhaps it would be better to say that he shamelessly declared his innocence.

[No need for that long face little Fey. I know what you are worried about, but I swear to God himself that I don't have a hobby of peeking]

If Fey still had a face it would surely be twitching right about now.

[Ahhh, but I'm God. *Fufufufu* there, there little Fey it was just a little humor, you've been so tense since the very beginning even I'm starting to get uncomfortable]

Sirius was right. Fey had been going through a mix of emotions ever since he woke up. From hopeful to worried and then stressed about his future, Fey's life as a small floating soul had been difficult thus far.

However, even if he was right, Fey wasn't going to admit to it any time soon.

[Ahh, so he's a tsundere.]

At this point, Fey's soul was shinning out with a violet-red light.

[Ahh perhaps I pushed it a little far there. Apologies little Fey but its been so long since I've last seen a soul so innocent, that I could hardly help myself]

At the mention of an apology, the red light subsided until it became a pure violet once more. Fey took a moment to calm himself before asking something that had been on his mind for a while now.

'You called me your champion before. What did you mean by that?'

Sirius, the now bastard god (as declared by Fey in his mind), smiled when he heard Fey.

[A champion? Well it means that from now on you fight in my name little Fey, and I, in turn, provide you with some of my divine powers]

When Sirius mentioned the words "power," Fey's could hardly hide his excitement as his soul gave off a radiant and happy violet light. What was one of the most basic requirements to be a hero?

It's power of course! Imagine trying to save a child from a burning building only to end up dying from the fire itself, or even worse from the smoke. People wouldn't remember you as a hero for trying, they might just think you're an idiot who overestimated himself.

The amount of Yo*Tube comments alone, scolding you for trying to be a hero would be enough to drown yourself in.

This isn't to say that Fey is belittling the noble qualities that make up a hero, but it's simply that without having the ability to follow through with your heart, you can't be much of a hero.

'And what powers would those be?'

[Weeellll, as you are still an Lv1 mob, the amount of power I can give you is very limited. In fact, it's so limited I can't give you anything]

Without an ounce of shame or hesitation Sirius, tore apart Fey's hope.

Without power what kind of hero could he be? Is Fey supposed to scold the bad guys to death? Is he supposed to hope that they feel so bad about their actions that they turn themselves in? What kind of lame joke is this?

Would they even be able to listen to a weak little soul like him?

Perhaps realizing the crux of the issue, Sirius hurried to correct himself. After all, he can't have his champion lose hope so soon.

[While I can't give you any of my power just yet, There are many things I can do, for example, this!]

*Snap*

From within the depth of Fey's soul, a sound akin to fingers snapping rang out. All of the sudden, Fey's soul which was originally a violet color was now a bright crimson red.

[Look, how cool is this! Other's souls are always a dull white color, but yours can be whatever you want, and not just red, I can also do many other colors]

*Snap*

*Snap*

*Snap*

With each new snap, the color of Fey's soul changed. From red to pink to green to yellow and then finally back to violet. Visibly pleased with himself, Sirius took a second for Fey to appreciate his almighty divine powers.

'STOP MESSING WITH ME!'

Surprised by his outrage, Sirius was dumbfounded for a second. Realizing that Fey was perhaps a bit more sensitive than he had thought, Sirius decided to stop teasing him for once.

[*Fufufufu*, don't be fooled little Fey, this isn't just a trick. Colors are more than just art. When it comes to the soul, colors represent an emotion. By changing the color of your soul, even if you were to lie, The other person would hardly be able to notice it even if you were to confidently declare that you were a firebending walrus. Although at that point, they might actually be questioning your sanity instead.]

As if remembering something Sirius took a second before explaining once more.

[Ah there is one more thing. As your patron god, I can also give you the power to evaluate your characteristics and skills, in other words, a status if you will]

Although Fey's memories are a mess, his souls still shuddered excitedly at the mention of the words status. Taking a moment to calm himself a little, Fey calls out within his soul.

'Status'

Hello everyone!

It's your Lv1 Mob author here, TimeWalker. I'd like to thank you all for picking up my novel, as well as warn you that I plan to take it pretty slowly on this one. Most novels out there have the MC gain insane levels of power by chapter 100, and I don't really see much of a future for those novels. And that's honestly okay, but I want something different and hopefully so do you.

Anyway, I don't want to make this too long. Do help me out with some suggestions over which world you'd like to see our fledging MC go to first, preferably somewhere that's somewhat safe and doesn't require Saitama levels of power.
