Chapter 35

Leander felt fingers tugging at his cravat and instinctively tilted his head back. After trying for several moments without success, Julien pulled back with a frustrated sound, although he kept one arm around Leander’s ribs.

Leander was grateful for the support. He was still dazed. “What now?” he asked, startling himself because he sounded perilously close to whining.

Julien’s lips curved slightly. “This isn’t a good time.”

The unsettled feeling in Leander’s stomach went from delicious to sour. “You already…you’re already attached? To that man I saw you with at the theater?”

Julien seemed briefly puzzled, but then broke into a warm smile. “There is no one else who interests me at this time, I assure you.” The low voice seemed to pour over Leander, smoothing away any unpleasant feeling. “But I have a houseful of guests and we will have to be going down to dinner before too long.”
