~~~☆~~~
Before I tell u the story let me introduce myself. Hi I'm Jia, Jia Thomas. Let me tell you from the very start of this mess almost 7yrs back the day I finished high school. The very last day of our school life after this we'll only meet for exams. Every one was exchanging slam books, our shirts were full of drawing, writings and wishes. Some were crying, others were giving empty promise to keep in touch. Some hugged while others laughed remembering all the jokes that they had made together all the fun they had.
And me I was there sitting in my bench crying my eyes out. Every one who saw me came to hug and console me or cried their own few tears. Every one except one. She didn't try to console me by telling 'its all right' or 'I know how you feel but we'll keep in touch. Don't cry' . Because she knew the real reason to why I was crying. Unlike others she knew I wasn't crying cause I'll miss my class and friends.
I was crying cause the relationship that I thought would last forever. The person that I thought was my soulmate had left me. Like all teenage love stories I was crying while he was so coolly talking with his friends. Seeing how cool and happy he was made me even more frustrated and that made me cry harder.
And Neha my best friend was the only one who knew the real reason behind my tears. So after a full week of crying and depression Neha decided that it was high time I got over him and stopped weeping.
So in order to cheer me up she took me to THE DEN . Now Den was Neha's personal space where she had all sorts of crap and its where she invents new revolutions atleast that's what she says. It's a highly restricted area. No one is allowed to enter the den except Neha and the ones she gives permission. Mostly no one comes here afraid that all the junk might fall on them. So after getting kicked out 2 months back for calling a broken IBM 5150 a pile of junk. Here I'm in the Den.
At the time I thought Neha's idea of cheering me up again letting me enter den. Because she considers it as a very exclusive private property. But I was surprised to see that it was not the case. She had fixed that old crappy computer and had a programme running in it. Ok so now if I wasn't so upset and depressed about my break up I would have told her that playing video games in an old computer is not my idea of cheering your bestfriend up. But again I was wrong. Neha my best friend also a super tech geek shares everything with me except her precious junk. Of course I did not ever complain about it. Cause I was more than happy to keep it away from me than see stars and moons circling my head each time she tried to explain some of her very simple rather complicated ideas of revolution.
Even though we were besties our believes and personality were totally different from each other. Maybe that's why we turned out to be best friends after all opposites attract each other don't they. While I was a kind of girl who spent most of her time daydreaming, talking with my boyfriend, talking about my boyfriend, watching movies and sleeping. Neha was more of a tomboy than a girl and she spent her time going to junkyards and scrap shops to rescue craps, fighting with her mom, riding bicycle to accident spots in hope of finding useful stuff and of course joining, cutting, welding theses old crap to make a new and improved type of crap.
While she was full of facts and science and she never believed in miracles or religion or god. I was more of an Alice in wonderland type. I believed in all myths, super natural creatures and fairy tales. So now u understand form where I came up with my ex being my soulmate crap. Anyways even though our views were totally different from each other, we could totally relay on the other to have our back no matter what.
"Now I present before you find your soulmate version 1.0005 Tada!!"
These were the first words that came out from her mouth after programming that computer.
"What?!"
"Well this is a programme I invented. It helps you find your soulmate."
"Ok so is this your idea of a joke? Cause it's not funny I mean how can you make fun of me."
"Jia calm down I'm not making fun of you. I'm serious this program will actually help you find your soulmate. At least that's what its supposed to do. If everything goes right and smoothly this baby will show you your soulmate!"
"when did you start believing in soulmate and stuff? You used to tell me it was a bunch of crap."
"Well even now I don't believe in it. My aim was to make you try it out and if at all your boyfriend was really your soulmate as you used to tell, this baby could confirm it. But I never thought you guys would break up like that. That's why I never brought this up thinking maybe you'll get hurt."
"So if we had not broke up and this computer confirmed that he was my soulmate, you would have believed me?" I was getting angrier by the second thinking of all the times I kept talking to her thinking she would understand and all she was seeing was a lab rat.
"It's not like I don't believe you other wise, it's just that man.....Just think I could have seen the real thing, some solid proof I could have provided it."
I could see the effort she was putting to not force me into trying the thing.
"So now what do you want me to do?"
"I want you to try this. If you don't want to I won't push. But just think if this works properly and result is positive. I could produce it in mass every one could find their own soulmates. No need of divorces and fights only happy families. Think about it."
"Hmm...Ok... how do we start?"
"Yes!!" She practically throws herself on top of me in joy "I'll help you. You just need to answer some questions and it should find him for you."
I nod my head sharing the stool with Neha so that now we are both facing the screen as she taps in some code "By the way this version 1.0005 why too many zeros?"
"Simply."
