The Demon Twins

"I've heard the rumors but you two truly look nothing alike." "Does it matter?" "I suppose not, kill me off then." "It's my turn, Louis." "Get on with it then." With a loud laugh, the giant man brought down his hammer. With a squelching sound, a head was ground to a paste. This story centers around twins, starting off from their youth they go through a gradual progress in getting stronger. The stronger they become, however, they realize more and more that they will never get peace. *** Disclaimer: Firstly, this is my first long novel. This story will be slow, hopefully, I can do proper world-building. Power progression also won't be all too fast. I have no editor, so grammar might be off at some places. Hopefully, you'll enjoy reading it.

Chapter 7

The class soon began their classes on history and theory, first was the history of humanity followed by the theory behind the war. Louis was very interested in history, but the lesson on theory seemed a bit off, similar to brainwashing the children. Humanity believed that they had to wage war for the honor of their kingdoms.

In the history classes, Louis learned of the current emperor, the Emperor of Fire. All emperors in humanity were deemed to be heroes during their youth, and the current emperor was no exception.

The Emperor of Fire, Aidan, was born in the slums, fighting tooth and nail for everything and anything. After having graduated from school and starting his military service, it was his ability to fight like he was bound to die that he lived through every fight. After slowly growing his ability he suddenly grew wings when he met his current right-hand man, nicknamed the Oracle.

The Oracle helped Aidan gain a following while also strengthening him, through his constant battle and warfare Aidan grew strong enough to defeat hundreds on his own. And similar to every emperor before him, beneath his feet were mountains upon mountains of corpses. Aidan, however, was a natural attribute user, he had no bloodline, which was nearly unseen throughout the history of humanity. When a natural attribute user once again ascended into the throne the other natural attribute users supported him, solidifying his position.

The history class ended and school along with it. The twins were soon surrounded by their classmates, who held a myriad of emotions in their eyes. Awe, jealousy, and fake indifference were of the vast majority. Louis didn't feel the need to answer any of their questions and quickly left pulling Arthur who stood with pride while laughing.

"Good job both of you," Mallory said while looking at her two sons with great pride. "If it wasn't for that extra point I would have gotten better time and beat you," Arthur said while pouting. "We're a team Arthur," Louis said while rolling his eyes. Arthur started laughing while slapping his brother's back.

"You two should keep working hard, don't ever let up on your positions, remember what we've been through until now," Mallory warned sternly. The twins nodded sternly and left soon after.

"Doesn't mom look a little paler?" Arthur asked his brother. "Don't call Mallory mom Arthur, but it does seem that way." Louis replied. "I wonder if she's sick," Arthur mumbled to himself.

The two decided to spar after hearing that their power ranking would be more important than theory. "Why did we even take private tutoring," Arthur grumbled. "It'll still help," Louis replied levelly. They soon reached the training grounds located behind the mansion.
