Snapping Bones

After she dusted herself off, she began to lead me down the hallways quickly and she didn't make a sound as she did. It seems that she'd been scared quite thoroughly with our earlier interaction. Not that I cared if she was scared or not as long as she took me where I wanted to go.

I will admit it did feel good to put her into her place, and to see that smug look vanishes from her face.

The hall that she led me down got progressively grander and grander as we went down them. I didn't have any recollection of this family back from my first life. However, I'd not meddled in the affairs of the Beast Kin world, I'd spent a great deal of my life learning from the masters in my sect.

The last bit of my life had been spent in the company of that man; my life was far too short. I wouldn't allow this one to be cut short this time.

From the decorum of this house, it was easy to tell that this was a well of a household. Even from Cloud's memories, she didn't know much about the overall prowess of the family. But if the clothing of the maid and the grandness of this house were anything to go off of…

I'd been reborn into a fortuitous situation, well, once I cleaned up the trash that was trying to bar my path. I smiled to myself. Even though I had little information about the family affairs in the world, I have a suspicion that it was an important one.

My Mother's family was a different story, being of the fairy folk she'd obviously been very secretive about our family. I knew the fairy name that she'd gifted to me, Aerwyna. She'd also described a bit of her family to me.

Yet, I had no idea where they were located. It was almost a dead end.

I couldn't help the small laugh that bubbled up, this was a terrible position for a young one to be in. Yet, I wasn't a newborn fawn that these people thought I was, soon I'd turn them upside down and they wouldn't even know what was happening.

All I had to do was bide my time and polish my fangs before I dealt them the killing blow. They were now dealing with someone that knew the cruelty of others. If someone was to harm you; then they should be prepared to also be harmed.

I couldn't help but laugh to myself.

They'd really barked up the wrong tree this time around.

I caught Marissa turning her head slightly and looking at me from the corner of her eye. I give her a dazzling smile and bounce my way closer towards her. A look of fear and hesitation passes over her features as I reach a handout and grab her skirt.

For the past couple of minutes, she'd been leading up around somewhat of a circle. She was leading me round and round, yet, not taking me where I wanted to go.

I'd always had a keen mind, but ever since I'd been transplanted into this body, I found that it had gotten even clear. The only thing that I could attribute it to be my new body and the system that I now had in my head.

As of now, I could remember anything with a simple glance, this was something that would come in quite handy in the future.

This body of mine was perfect for learning magic, all that I had to do was fix the mutilated spirit veins in my body. That would surely stun this tripe family of bandits into shock.

Turning my eye up to look at Marissa, I felt her whole entire body stiffen and we'd completely stopped walking. Now we're standing in front of a large window that shows the front of the estate, we'd only been walking in the north wing of the family.

Or that's at least what my memory suggested.

"Where do you think you're taking us?" I ask her foxily.

A cold sweat began to run down Marissa back, she'd been told that she shouldn't under any circumstance allow the Young Miss to see her Grandfather, she'd also been the one that had delivered the poison to kill the Young Miss.

The fact that she'd conspired against the Young Miss of the Morninghelm family at all, could have up to five generations of her family slaughtered. This wasn't a simple matter at all.

Beads of sweat began to pour down her forehead, and she found that she was having trouble breathing. Even since the Young Miss had come out of her room, it was like someone else had taken her place. There was something extremely different about her and she felt it in every bone in her body.

"Marissa," I sang out her name this time, her eyes refused to meet mine as I called her name and sweat drips down her face.

It seems that she indeed was truly afraid, however, not afraid enough to take me where I wanted to go.

"Ye-es, Young Miss," her voice came out in a slight stutter. I felt a wicked smile and feeling birth itself in my heart. This rabbit woman was too easy to bully, they should have sent someone with more backbone to bully me.

But I suppose for the old owner of this body she was probably enough to beat her into submission. How sad.

Reaching my right hand out I grab her hand that folded in front of her, I pry the left one from the right one and stroke it softly. Her whole entire body stiffens.

"You've got such pretty finger, so long and delicate, they look as if they'd break like glass," I murmured as I held her hand.

"T-thank you," she manages to lower her head. She tries to jerk her hand back. However, I applied just the right amount of pressure and with her sudden motion, I broke two of her fingers.

"Snap~" The audible sound echo's through the hallway.

"Ah!" The shrill sound left her mouth as her legs buckle due to the sudden flash of pain. Her ears flattened themselves against the top of her head and she looks at her two fingers that are now misshapen and crooked!

Tears pour down her face.

"You Bit- "The word almost left her mouth as she looks up at the little girl that now eye level with her.

The most chilling smile rest on the face of the little girl, it was as if she was looking into the abyss her eyes are so chilling. How was it even possible that a six-year-old girl could do this?!

Unless all these years…had the little miss, planned this all?

That chilling thought invaded the mind of Marissa. The false realization dawned on her as she looks into the eyes of the beast standing in front of her!

She'd realized far too late that this wasn't the girl that she'd once bullied, no! What stood in front of her now was something that shouldn't be approached without caution!

While Marissa was realizing this, something else was happening to Cloud.

'Would you like to kill her?' The soothing voice of my teacher sounds in my head.

'No,' I reply.

Indeed, it was a tempting offer to kill this dumb maid. But at the moment it would draw undue attention to myself, the attention that I was ill-equipped to handle at this moment. I'd yet to awake my bloodline powers, nor did I have any magic to draw from at the moment. All that I had was my bloodlust, that would work on weaker people but not everyone.

'Then shall we scare her a bit?' My teacher asks again.

Looking towards the woman that's on her knees in front of me. I could feel the resentment that was boiling in my body, it seems that now that I was Cloud, I'd have to avenge her.

Reaching my right hand out, I cup her jaw and her eyes look towards my hand.

"What are yo-" Before she could finish, I exert some strength, flexing my hand and with the added help of my teacher. I crush her jaw!3

"Argg~" A muffle groan of pain leave her mouth as tears pour even more out of her eyes. Her whole body was shaking like a leaf in the wind.

A great deal of joy washes over my body. It felt nice to repay some of the pain that she'd caused me. I'd cause her even more in the future, I couldn't help but think to myself.
