Manifestation.

The bright light of morning break filtered in through the curtains as a soft breeze fluttered the white curtains.

I shifted in my sheets to get away from the light and to continue with my sleep but it was futile. I felt too hot and restless to sleep, summer mornings are the worst.

An hour before my alarm clock, I'm up and making my way to the bathroom to relieve myself and get freshened up. I took a look at my reflection and I looked horrible. My back long raven hair was plastered all over my face from the sweat and I had dark marks under my eyes, clearly, showing the lack of sleep I got.

I still felt hot and the occasional chills running through my body just like a flu would but my nose didn't even feel blocked. Perhaps taking a shower will relieve me of these chills.

With that thought in mind, I started getting ready for the day. An hour later I was already dressed and having breakfast still feeling chilly, I put on a jacket, even went as far as wrapping a scarf around my neck to help but to no avail. I'm definitely coming down with the cold.

A soft meow brought me out of my thoughts reminding me that I had a child in my care "Oh, morning Trixie. Sorry, forgot to pour you breakfast." I got up from my seat and pulled out a bag of Frisky Bitz and poured into her bowl.

Trixie meowed by my legs as she rubbed and waited for her food. I placed her bowl down next to her water bowl, she darted straight for it and ate. I bent down to stretch the hairless feline, she immediately stuck her butt up the moment I began to scratch the spot by the tail "Yeah you like that don't you" I cooed as continued to scratch.

She looked up, meowed than went back to eating. Satisfied, I planted a kiss on her back before getting back to my own breakfast and problem.

Today I had an exam to write and I ended up staying pretty late to study and now the consequences of my actions has come to bite me in the form of a cold. Taking a quick look at the time, I nearly choked on my cereal, I had an hour left before class started and there's no way I'm going make it in time.

Campus is about 20 miles outside of Blue Moon City and taking the bus will take too long. I needed to get there and fast. I started grabbing my backpack and stuffed all my books and notes, and any items I needed than quickly tied my hair up into a ponytail, not bothering to tame the little bit of hairs that stuck out.

Like a gift sent from heaven I heard the sound of a deep roar from a mustang GT and I thanked the heavens for the blessing.

"Bye Trixie, see you later." I locked the door behind me and made my way out to the parking. If there is ever a problem, there is one person I know who had the means to solve it, Rodney Michél.

He was the definition of a bad boy, the type girl's have been warned to stay clear of. He was leaning on the passenger door when I eventually came down. Rodney had striking emerald green eyes and his naturally messy black hair looked messier but in a way that looked hot and I'm certain his been running his hands through his hair to comb it, I've never seen the guy comb his hair once. Today, he decided to amp up his bad boy energy and dress in a leather jacket, a black t-shirt and blue jeans with black and white sneakers.

"Don't you think your over doing it?" I question, pointing to his outfit. Rodney pushed off the car and gave a little twirl followed by running his fingers through his hair in that cocky way "Jealous is not a good look, Love" he smirks and I only roll my eyes.

"You wish I was jealous. Now, move I'm late for my exam," I say and push him aside so I can get into the car "A thank you for coming to your rescue would be nice."

"Whatever you say prince charming, now start driving." He shuts the door as soon as I buckled myself in and makes his way to the drivers side, he puts the key into the ignition and peels out into the street, racing down the street probably doing 80mph, swerving through traffic. Normally, I'd complain about his reckless driving but today I'm grateful for his love of speed.

"So, what's going on with you?" He turns a sharp right and I'm forced to brace myself "What you mean?" I asked once I could relax and look at my notes without being tossed around the seat.

Still keeping his eyes on the road, Rodney tugged at the red scarf I had around my neck and the thick jacket I had on "And, you woke up late, it's not like you to wake up late," he added, I opened my mouth to answer but I was suddenly jerked back into my seat as he increased the speed. The traffic light had turned orange and Rodney was determined to drive right through it.

"I'd like to get to campus in one piece!"

He just barely makes it when the lights hit red and we nearly miss two oncoming cars who hoot aggressively as we speed pass them. Grateful or not this goes beyond reckless driving, I'm now trembling in my seat at the near death experience while Rodney has a wolfish grin on his face.

I leaned into my seat while I tried to relax my already shot nerves, he chuckles and focus his attention onto the road.

"You didn't answer my question."

"I was too busy trying to stay alive." I pointed out "Sissy," he mocks, giving me a side ways grin and I give him a dirty look "Caring for my life is not sissy," I shot back and he just shook his head in disbelief in the lack of thrill I have for speed.

If I didn't know better I'd have thought he was a vampire at the speed he was driving.

"To answer your question, I'm feeling cold might be coming down with something," I told him, shifting through my notes "You have a cold?"

"Yes, it happens, people get a cold," I stated in a matter-of-fact tone, I could feel myself getting more cold and pulled the jacket closer and silently shuddered "Ya, but you're not people. I've known you for a long time Ann and not once have I ever seen you catch a cold."

"Don't know wh..." I barely finished my sentence when everything went silent and my vision went blank in an instant, and then came back. I was now seeing a truck barreling down and crashing into us, the sound of the impact was loud in my ears and it sent the car spiralling out of control before landing belly up, Rodney was hanging upside, knocked out and bleeding, I tried reaching over but pain shot through my body causing me to cough up blood, I looked down to see that I was covered in a lot of blood and something sticking into my stomach.

My vision went blank again than snapped back to me being in the same green and black mustang, immediately I was filled with dread as butterflies erupted in my stomach and my heart beating wildly in my chest. I found myself griping my stomach where I was or about to be impaled and I'm fairly certain I tasted blood in my mouth. It took awhile for all my senses to return to normal and hear Rodney calling out my name.

"...Anita!"

My head snapped back to Rodney, his brows forming a deep crease with concern "What's wrong? Your eyes went white, is everything okay? You look like you saw a ghost, what's wrong?"

Rodney was shooting questions after questions and I couldn't process them as the voice in my head kept screaming for him to slow down.

"Slow down."

"What?"

"I said slow down!" Panic rising within me.

"I can't, you'll be late for your exam besides we'll be there with 30 minutes to spare, what's gotten into you?" Rodney looked worried and confused with my sudden shift in attitude towards his driving.

"Rodney for once, just listen to me and push the freaking brakes!"

Not saying another word, Rodney stomped down onto the brakes and the car came skidding into a complete stop and not a moment too soon as the truck I saw in my vision came speeding infront of us, when the truck sped past us, I could have sworn I saw the driver passed out on the steering wheel, before swerving to the right and crashing into a building.

We both watch in disbelief, probably for different reasons and we silently sat in the car as we digested the near death experience we both nearly had. I was trembling in my seat, too stunned to even speak.

"What. The. Hell."

Rodney was the first to break the silence and looked over at me perplexed "Ann, want to explain to me how you knew that truck was coming?" For the first time in my life I never seen Rodney as shaken as I am, I open my mouth to respond but I just couldn't find the words to describe what just happened so I said the only thing that could make sense "I had a vision."

I could see the gears turn in his head as he tried processing the words I just spoke and his lips curled up into that weird nervous smile "I'm sorry I could have sworn I heard you say the word vision," he nervously chuckled, running his hands through his hair.

"Actually, you know what it totally makes sense you are part Fae so of course you'll have visions, no biggie."

Oh how I wish it was a 'no biggie' but it was definitely a biggie, a huge monumental biggie "Rodney, Fae seers start seeing visions at the age of thirteen, I'm seven years late," I pointed out. Rodney went from shocked to well...more shocked meanwhile fear was slowly building inside of me.

All Supernatural's hit a certain age where their power manifest. The Cursed; your Vampires and shifters, get their powers at age fourteen and the Mystical's; Fae, Elements and Mages all get their powers at age thirteen. Basically, the moment you hit puberty your powers reveal themselves. One moment your human than the next your a supernatural and for as long as I could remember there has never been any reports of any late bloomers. So, this has me pretty scared right now.

Rodney clasped his hands together, obviously trying to process the information.

"Okay."

"Okay?"

"Okay-" Rodney wrapped his hand around my own and I wasn't sure who was trembling more; him or me "-it's okay, we'll figure this out but for now you need to get to campus and focus on your exam." He gently squeezed my hand and gave me a reassuring smile, Rodney started the car and headed towards the university.

Despite this morning's events I managed to get there with only a minute left on the clock and with great effort, focused on the exam and did fairly well. After the exam, I made my way to the office to get accommodation papers.

Rodney was very stern about me getting an accommodation here on campus during this morning drive, I came up with every argument in the book to let me keep the apartment even brought up Trixie and my deep concern for her living arrangements.

"She will stay with me and you've only been staying there for two months so there isn't a lot of furniture. Staying on campus will make it easier for you and that's final."

The conversation ended with me rolling my eyes and muttering 'Okay, dad.' under my breath and knowing I wasn't going to win this argument with him. Apart of me believes that he's shaken up, blaming himself about the incident and is now being paranoid, and living on campus is the best way for me to be safe and not get involved in any near death experience.

And to be honest, I am to blame as well. If I had applied to live here that incident wouldn't have happened but no, I wanted to be an independent adult and get my own place even though Rodney was the one paying rent.

I shook my head. I shouldn't be feeling guilty, I should be grateful that we are still alive. If that vision didn't happen we'd be roadkill by now and I'm not yet ready to bite the dust. But, now I'm faced with another big problem, the vision.

As far as I know, I'm half Fae and half Elemental, earth elemental to be exact. Having visions is a Fae's speciality and from what I've learnt in classes so far is that Seers are of God-like status. Which begs the question, why is my visions only working now?

A sudden chill ran up my spine and I started feeling really cold, like this morning. Knowing what was coming, I quickly looked around for some place to hide so that no one questioned my sudden white eyes. I found an empty class room and walked inside, locking it behind me so that no one came in.

Like this morning the world around me disappeared including sound and I only saw darkness for a split second before my vision came back and I found myself in someone's arms, really firm arms.

We were standing in a giant wheat field, just holding each other. I couldn't see their face due to the bright sunlight but I felt a sense of security with them. They had a strong spicy sent mixed with a hint of cinnamon and I found myself inhaling it, he leaned in and kissed my forehead.

My vision went dark once again and my senses all returned back to my current moment. I stood there, perplexed by the vision. The scent was still lingering in my nose as well as the sensation where I had been kissed.

This day just keeps getting better and better.

Who was that guy? At first I thought it was Rodney but shook that thought out of my head. Rodney's cologne has a hint of oak, almost like a forest kind of earthy. And, I barely know anyone on campus enough to guess who's smelled of spicy cinnamon.

But if this vision is anything like this morning's one than there is a chance of it coming true.
