CHAPTER 39: DINNER WITH THE QUEEN

"I am back," Ki-an announced holding a tray.

She dropped the tray on the table and brought the table closer to the bed. "So, do you want to see it now or when you are done eating?" She asked.

Fate raised his head slowly to look at her, it only took him half a second to realize what she was talking about. Even if he was confused, her hands on the waistband of her bikini bottom was all the hint he needed.

"No, no, no." He yelled out, panicking. He vigorously waved his hands out in front of him.

"Okay then, after you eat. I get what you mean." She paused as she chuckled awkwardly. "Some people think it's weird to look at the first time." She smiled sheepishly.

"No, that's not what I mean. You don't have to show me."

"But I want to."

"Huh?" His eyes widened. "Actually, I am not that curious. Thank you for the offer." He smiled looking down at the plate of food.

"Fine, never mind. Just eat your food, okay? I will be right back." She grinned and slipped out the door.

Fate picked up the tray and placed it on his legs and dug into the meal. He rushed it, stuffing himself and barely chewing before he swallowed as his aim was to be filled not savor the meal.

He ate the last of it and gulped the water, every single drop. He dropped the cup, gasping for air. He returned the tray to the table and threw himself onto the bed. He was tired and now that he was full, fatigue was all he could feel.

Barely two minutes after eating, he could feel his body slowly shut down. He didn't fight it, instead, he adjusted so he was lying comfortably. He took his head off the ground and closed his eyes. In seconds he was out and fast asleep.

Barely five minutes later, Ki-an returned but Fate was already fast asleep and even as she took the plates Fate didn't even stir. Ki-an stood and watched him sleep for at least a full minute before she walked out of the room.

She left the room with her back and kept watching him until she slipped out of the room and quietly closed the room. Even the sound of the door closing was not enough to wake him up.

Fate jerked up, there was someone in his room. The room was dark, how long was he asleep for? He rubbed his eyes, trying to wipe the sleep off and hopefully kick in the night vision so he could see in the dark.

"Did I wake you up?" Her soft voice echoed in the dark.

Fate's eyes widened, and he recognized the voice immediately. "Lili!" He yelled in shock that she was in his room.

"Yes," she replied softly and smiled.

He saw her smile clear as day and the rest of her became clear to him. Her horns were almost twice the size of her face. They were thick and dark. The color of the horns blended pretty easily with the rest of the room and the color of Lili's hair.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." She said and touched one of his legs, simultaneously fire started on her other palm and the room lit up.

Fate felt an electric shock course through his body and he immediately sat upright, threw his legs off the bed, and sat beside Lili in the same manner that she was sitting on his bed.

"Is something wrong?" He asked, hugging his fingers between his legs.

"No, not at all. I just wanted to let you know that dinner is ready and I will very much like it if you will join me at my table." Lili asked, her voice breaking at the end of her words.

"Oh, of course. You didn't have to come to get me yourself." Fate replied without looking at her.

"I wanted to," she mumbled and gently placed her hand on one of his laps.

Even through his clothes, Fate could feel how soft her skin was and it made him wonder about other parts of her body. He shut his eyes tight and said, "Okay."

"Alright then. Are you set now or is there anything else you would like to do before you leave the room?"

"No, no. I am all set." As he spoke he jumped off the bed and stood to show he was set to leave.

Lili smiled again and copied his movements but there was no need for her to jump off the bed. She stood to her full height and Fate's head slowly raised as he tried to keep looking at her face. She was obviously taller than V.

Lili was at least a full foot and a couple of inches taller than V and V was quite tall. She was almost as tall as Ameita and demons were apparently taller than humans. All the demons he had seen were around the same height, a few were taller but there weren't any really short ones and they made his height pretty obvious.

She bent forward and Fate swallowed. She grabbed his right hand and then pulled him towards the door. He flailed behind her like a little kid as his tiny feet tried to keep up with her huge ones.

The light went off as she made to open the door but almost immediately the light from the hallway seeped into the room. It was not too bright but it was bright enough to see one's path.

The light did not look like it was coming from a candle or torch. The source of light was attached to the ceiling. Fate stared at it but he could not do so for too long as it hurt his eyes.

Lili led him through the path he had taken to the antechamber where they had met her but just before they could get to the door, she took a turn and an even bigger door appeared.

She pushed open the door and the room immediately fell silent as every single demon rose to their feet. They gave her a low bow as they walked past them.

The room was quite big and it was filled with tables and chairs. In just one glance Fate could tell this was the dining room. Demons surrounded different tables and they were at least six to ten demons per table. If Fate could try to guess their numbers, there were at least two hundred demons in the hall.

He kept his eyes down as he walked. He could feel their stares and it was as if a heavy weight was placed on his shoulders. The worst path was they had to walk through the hall to the other end. He could hear whispering again but they were not loud enough for him to pick out the words.

Finally, they got to their destined table and sat down. As soon as Lili's butt touched her seat every single demon did the same.

"Thank you for gracing us with your presence, your grace but I do not see why the boy has to join us, men are not allowed to eat with us," Ameita said stiffly while glaring at Fate.

"Let it go Ameita, also he is just a child." Lili scolded.

Fate bit the inside of his cheeks as he resisted the urge to yell that technically he was a teenager and in about a year and a couple of months, he would be an adult.

"Besides," she continued. "We have confirmed his identity. Don't you think Luthan would be pleased with our service?"

"Luthan?" Fate frowned.

Lili turned to look at him. "I would like you to meet my attendants."

Two demons rose to their feet, Fate thought they had a striking resemblance but all the succubi had similar features. Pointed nose, slanty eyes, and full lips.

"I am Mala," one of them said.

"I am Coda," the other replied.

"I am Fate," he muttered, not knowing what else to respond to their explanation.

"We know," they replied simultaneously.

Lili chuckled, "You've already met Ameita and Ki-an."

Fate looked over at them, finally looking at Ki-an who had been trying to get his attention since they arrived at the table. She smiled lovingly at him while Amrita kept glaring at him.

He smiled faintly and asked, "Where is V?"

The silence that followed was pretty awkward.
