32 Ais spar

number 3 won by a landslide getting double the votes of the 2nd most voted which is number 1 with 6 votes (including me), alright I would have thought Bell loving Xian would be more interesting but seems you guys don't want Xian to be a love interest

- Bell's POV -

Feeling a light touch on my face, my eyes fluttered open, and I met Xian's beautiful face. Her blindfold lay on the pillow as if she had forgotten to take it off.

'How did I get here?' I thought, trying to remember last night. The last thing I could recall was drinking under pressure. As I pulled the sheet away, I was met with an unbelievable sight.

Xian's bare body revealed itself as the sheet moved down her body, a pearl-like skin and flawless without any blemishes

Stunned by the sight, I felt blood drip from my nose as I tried to imagine what had happened last night for us to end up in this state. Looking at Xian one last time, I quietly left the room without alerting her.

"She must be in a deep sleep to not notice me there," I muttered and walked down the stairs.

- Xian's POV -

"Ugh," feeling a massive headache, I rose from my bed but felt cold below. Looking down, I muttered to myself "Why am I not wearing clothing"

-

Exiting the pub after dressing myself, I was surprised to find Ais waiting at the entrance.

"Are you looking for something, Ais?" I inquired, noticing her gaze fixed on me.

After a moment of silence, Ais finally spoke. "Are you training Bell?"

"Yes, I've been training him," I replied openly, seeing no reason to keep it a secret.

"Can I see?" Ais asked tilting her head slightly. I agreed, and we made our way to the broken church with Ais following me.

At the church, I found Bell standing in the field, seemingly lost in thought. When he noticed Ais and me, he appeared flustered.

"Why are you here, Ais?" Bell asked, his nervousness evident.

"Ais asked if she could watch our spar," I explained, moving to my usual spot in the field. I drew my broken blade and began to chant an incantation.

"O'Ice, listen to my call, In your frozen realm, I stand tall. Shape my desire, bend my will, With icy power, my purpose fulfill"

Ais looked on in confusion but turned into surprise as ice formed around my blade. Meanwhile, Bell, on his side, chanted his incantation.

"O flame, enchant my blade to aid me in my fight, engulf my enemy with your flame, and leave nothing but ashes"

Bell's dagger was infused with a flickering flame. A frost swordswoman faced off against a boy with a blazing aspiration to be a hero, opposite of each other yet brought together by our teacher-student bond.

With both hands gripping my blade's hilt and Bell lowering his stance, we charged at each other, marking the start of our sparring session.

-

As Bell rested on the ground to recover from our intense spar, letting the ice slowly melt away I sheathed my broken blade. Ais, who had been observing, took a step forward, her intent clear.

Drawing her rapier, she pointed it at me. "Spar with me," Ais requested straightforwardly. I nodded and motioned for Bell to step away from the field, which he did promptly.

Drawing my broken katana once more, I allowed ice to form on the blade as I assumed my combat stance. Ais maintained a serious demeanor as she prepared herself for the spar. With a sudden burst of speed, she dashed towards me, her movements were swift as she remembered what happened between Xian and Bete.

I had already anticipated her flurry attacks and spotted a notable flaw in her fighting style. Ais heavily relied on her incredible speed and strength to overpower her opponents, without a well-defined sword technique. Her strategy consisted of quick perception and instinct, making her proficient at blocking incoming strikes without much strategic foresight.

I slashed forward, and Ais quickly stepped back, creating a gap that allowed me to adjust my footing. As I transitioned into a different stance 'First, the calm lake below the blue moon.', my demeanor shifted to one of calm and serenity, confusing Ais but she soon regained her composure, her expression turning serious once more.

With a slight shuffle of my feet, I launched into a sudden dash, seemingly teleporting right in front of her. Ais attempted to parry my strike, but her efforts were in vain as she still felt danger. The blade cut through, leaving a crimson line across her hand as blood began to flow.

Ais hastily retreated from my range, wearing a perplexed expression. I remained still, waiting for her next move.

First, the calm lake below the blue moon: a style of illusion and trickery, designed to lead the opponent into creating openings that I could exploit to strike at their weaknesses.

"You cannot block what you cannot perceive," I murmured as I assessed the situation. Realizing that Ais was still grappling with what had caused her initial parry to fail, I decided it was time to make my move.

*Step* *Step* I continued my slow pace towards Ais, her displeasure evident on her face as she couldn't fathom my elusive movements.

Ais, clearly frustrated, launched herself at me in another offensive onslaught *Clank* *Clank* *Clank*. However, no matter how varied her attacks, she couldn't breach my defenses. The full technique of "The Calm Lake Below the Blue Moon" had been shown, a sword style with invisible defense and deadly invisible attacks. I had yet to unleash even when sparring with Bell.

*Clank* *Slash* *Spurt* - I deflected her attack and seized an opportunity to strike. Another cut on Ais. I prepared for another slash but suddenly felt my strength drained. *Clank* Ais parried my move and aimed to counter, but I swiftly retreated, leaving her slashing at thin air.

Ais, determined to strike me, rushed forward. However, we were interrupted by Bell's voice from outside the practice ground.

"Xian-san, are you free this afternoon? I want to find a blacksmith to make me another dagger, and I'd like you to tag along and help me," Bell called out. Considering my plans for the day, I nodded in agreement.
