Castle Visit Chaos

 "So you're going to take the assassin back to the castle?" Varen inquires. "And you really think that's a good idea?" 

 "Yeah. It'll be fine." Emelda shrugs, working on breakfast while the others quickly move to repair the castle. 

 "Please just… No. I'll go with you." He decides. 

 "You sure like coming along all of a sudden." Emelda comments turning to him, putting a hand on her hip. "We'll be fine."

 "Ah. I just…" He blinks in surprise by her posture. "Just want to make sure everything goes smoothly."

 "You act like an overprotective parent." She says with a raised eyebrow. 

 "Me?" Her words seem to stun him. "Am I… Being overbearing?" 

 "Sort of. Feels like you're… Lingering overhead to oversee everything." She says trying not to call him a helicopter parent.

 "I… Understand…" He murmurs, shoulders drooping at that. 'Me… A helicopter parent… I want to crawl into a hole…'
