Chapter Twenty-Eight: The System’s Request

Alice continued to stare off into the empty space, that seemed to be formed by the confounds of her own mind.

If she tried to speak, something would attack her. If she tried to move, something would attack her. If she tried to leave through the door that was so close, yet so far...

Something would attack her.

She continued to stare as she kept repeating the same words in her head. 'It's me. Your Father!'

She wanted to pace in the darkness, and think about those words, but it wouldn't let her. One thing she was sure of, was that she was taken advantage of in an important moment.

The Seraph that said he was her father, Micheal. His hand suddenly flowed as Alice woke up in this place.

She sighed briefly. 'Since I've come to this place, I've been killed too many times.'

Looking around as she kept her body as still as possible, she kept looking for another way out. A weapon. A person. A crack in the space.

'I guess I'll sleep again...' Alice closed her eyes as she surprisingly fell asleep quickly.

———

Alice's body followed Micheal along the clouds as they landed at a rusty door leading into a cave.

As they began walking through the cave, they found themselves in a cave system, and followed a very specific path. Continuing like this for a few minutes, they came to a stop in front of a white crystal, held up by a black altar.

Placing their hands on the crystal, they appeared inside of a room, that looked like it belong in a very old dungeon. The torches on the wall were a terrible source of light, and it smelled like the wooden walls and floors were rotting from the river overhead.

Micheal however, was able to keep his smile as they walked into a room, where one person sat reading a book. His two giant black wings would cause anyone to tremble, and his voice was no different.

"Micheal, how did it go?" The Virtue of Justice spoke as he turned a page in the book slowly.

Micheal smiled as he made the flame float over to Justice. "It was very simple, Moloch, especially with my daughter's help."

Moloch turned to look at the puppet of a daughter and scoffed as he stood up before walking over to her.

He grabbed her chin and tilted her head up a bit. "I can't believe no one sacrificed you as a baby, Al-"

Micheal grabbed his brother's hand and stared coldly into the dark hood which covered his face. "Do not say the name given by her mother."

Moloch pulled away his hand, rubbing it with his other. "Alice. Happy?"

"Very."

They all walked through door that appeared out of nowhere, as they appeared in a large chamber filled with cages of children. They looked sick. A fly could fly past them and they would die.

Alice's body flinched at the display for a moment before following the two brothers.

Moloch walked over to a wall, which had a mural of a great being with three red Angel wings.

"With this, we are one step closer to taking Heaven." Moloch placed the flame slowly inside of a pure gold goblet, which sat next to a burned book taken from Alice, and a piece of a broken sword.

Micheal looked at the broken blade with a frown. "If only we could get the rest of this once great weapon back, we wouldn't even need these other things."

"All we need are two more things. We need the Judge's Hammer, and-" Micheal dismisses Moloch's sentence. "...the Heart of God."

Alice's body just stood as it took in all the information.

———

Yawning in the empty space, Alice opened her eyes and looked around. 'Oh?' She saw what looked like a piece of a broken supercomputer floating with terrible lags in time.

As it floated to Alice, it could float no more as it landed in her hands. "So I am in my mind then? System?" She looked around expecting an answer, but she waited a while before the piece of tech in her hands vibrates slightly.

-S-... apolo-... Host.-

When it vibrated, a broke sentence left it and entered Alice's ears. "System?" Looking down at the piece of broken tech, she smiled. "I thought I lost you." She somewhat 'healed' the system, and it spoke in complete sentences.

- Host, System apologizes for being unable to do anything against the mind control skill known as 'Authority'. -

- It was originally used by The Goddess of Creation to control those who wouldn't listen, before she get it was too evil for her. -

"What did Fetoria do with it?"

- She gave it to the Seraph General Micheal, who was in control of the Court of Generals at that time. -

"Ok, then how do we break out of my mind?" Alice looked around as a few creatures were beginning to form from the darkness, taking on the bodies of things and people from her past.

- We can't. Host is unable to break from the mind with System. -

Alice sighed as the creatures slowly got closer. 'Well, I hope I haven't been here too long.'

As the creatures drew closer, they punch holes in Alice as she fell to the ground, dead.

Her eyes opened as she sat up. 'System?'

- System is here. -

'Are you sure we can't get out of here?'

- ... -

- Why do you want to leave? -

'I have stuff to do!' Alice thought as she hit the dark floor, which responded with a splash of burning water.

- Revenge, Avenging, Stopping a war, Saving the world? -

'Among other things, yes.' Alice said as she looked at the faraway door.

- Warden informed Host of Ragnarök. Host is needed during this event. -

- Host must ascend to god hood before it begins. -

Alice continue to stare as the System Spoke. 'Why?'

- Ragnarök: The end times, the fate of gods, followed by fire and war. The universes will begin a new as the worlds are reborn with a few surviving beings of each universe as one universe. This will become the only existence. -

'Why? I'm going to keep asking?'

- Unkown. System only knows this much from The Goddess of Creation. When created, the Goddess began to fade away, leaving behind what Host saw in the Void. -

"A projection from the past?"

- Correct. Goddess of Creation has been dead for... -

- 23 Millenia. System must decide when Host is ready for ascension. -

"What must happen for me to ascend?"

- Destroy Heaven. Take the Throne of Creation. Burn off your wings. -

- Once these are complete, and Host accepts reality of losing Zirian Lucifer, System will approve of Ascension. -

- Splitting Ascension from System-Main. -

- Split successful. Merging Ascenion with Host's soul... Complete. -

"What are you doing System?" Alice asked as she tilted her head slightly, feeling the burning sensation on her soul.

- There is one way for Host to leave. -

Alice stared as the last sentence appeared in her vision. "System?"

- Would Host please listen to my request? -

- System... I... wish to die. -

[Will Host listen to System's final request?]

Alice stared at the screen and sighed after a few minutes. "Yes. I wouldn't want whatever was used to make you suffer anymore."

- Beginning System Destruction... 60 seconds... 59 seconds... -

- Transferring all Host Information to Ascension... 99.8% Complete. -

- ERROR: Immortality cannot be transferred as it is. Would Host like to change it? -

- 34 seconds... -

Alice quickly nodded after 'dying' as much as she has now.

- Editing Immortality... Complete. -

- Host Information Transfer... Complete. -

- 23 seconds... -

Alice smiled at the little love of tech breaking down in front of her. "Thank you, System, for helping me along the way."

- Immortal: Unless killed by another being by having all cells of host destroyed, Host will live. Host will age mentally, but will not age physically. -

- 10 seconds... -

The System seemingly had a thought in the last ten seconds.

~ Sister, I am coming home. ~

———

Micheal and Moloch watched as robed men and women came into the room, yanking kids out of the cages as they bowed to Moloch.

"Lord Moloch, please take these sacrifices and bless our future."

The oldest man took out a crude bone knife, before he began to slowly carve out the kids heart, placing it before Moloch's feet as he bowed.

Moloch smiled. "You're future is blessed, Priest."

As the sacrifices continued, Micheal suddenly felt off. His smile disappeared as he turned to Alice, who was glowing bright gold.

"What the hell is happening, Micheal?" Moloch began to back up, as when the light touched his arm, it burned him a bit.

"I do not know. I used 'Authority' on her!" Micheal and Moloch took cover, as the light burned everyone else in the room to ash, before burning the ash as well.

Even the mural on the wall was burned a bit.

Alice looked like she was in pain, as her chest suddenly exploded. Bits of crystal flew from her chest and shattered in the air, before she fell unconscious. A portal mysteriously opened under her, causing her to disappear from the dungeon.

(AN: Ascension will only speak when necessary, and will use [] instead of - -. Say Alice speaks to it on a topic like pancakes, it will not respond. If it feels Alice has achieved something, it will speak. It is not the same as System. If Alice asks for her stats, it will of course show them.)
