1 Magic World

Jake had always been a little of a strange kid, the sort of kid nobody would really like. He would try to get friends and he would succeed, but they would not last. He would not leave them, instead, he would keep pestering them, even when they distinctly told him to go away. Then would follow them because of his unique personality, he would be bored and then looked at his friends to fix it, usually walking forward to them and acting like a monkey because of his boredom. His lack of friends, his clinginess and his low social status made dating a hell on earth for him. He was the school's joke. He would grow unprecedented hate towards this side of him, this hate would grow to create a masochist in him that would enjoy hurting himself because "Fuck that strange little kid".

Today Jake would finally have his hands on the new game "Magic World", and was hyped for it. Jake had almost run back hope. Jake opened the door, rays of light landed on the floor. His brother was in front of him, cleaning the house.

"Come home early, aey" Said his brother Alex, whilst he was looking at him.

"Ye school ended early, did the game come?" Jake, responded.

"Yes, it's in your room," Alex said, with a hint of disappointment in his voice.

Jake immediately took off his jacket and threw away his shoes as he ran towards his room. He was quite excited for "Magic World" and had been daydreaming the entire day for this moment. He saw it laying on his bed, 'this is going to be a fun experience' he thought. Before he put on his helmet, he quickly messaged his friend which he had planned to play with, he told him that he was going in and was most likely going to play an archer and that he should avoid picking something similar because then they could share the drops.

First, everything was black, then he saw a white text, "magic world" was written on it and it kept on expanding as if it was approaching him. Then it disappeared and he found himself in a room with a line of text in front of him.

"Hello, you have officially entered Magic World, and you will not be allowed to exit until you beat the game. Naturally, the exit button has been removed but if somehow you get out you will almost certainly die, you will not have to worry about time, as time is a lot faster in here than in real life, one hour here is a second outside, therefore, food and other bodily desires should not be an issue."

'WHAT!!?!?!?!?!' Jake internally screamed, he then tried to exit only to find that the button was locked out. He froze as he was contemplating what had just happened him, he did this for a solid five minutes which to him felt like seconds 'What a way to start this game'. He tried to alert his friend only to suddenly figure out that he couldn't, for a second he felt slightly sad. After a few more minutes of pondering, he accepted the scenario as it was. A small side of him started looking forward to this. He kept reading as it was the only thing he could do.

"Nevertheless after you have finished reading this, you will be forced to select a class, there exist five classes, every class has six play styles in it and every playstyle has near a billion specialities in it. Specialities will be coloured differently depending on their difficulty to play. The difficulty scaling is green, then red, then dark red and finally black, with the easiest being green. The harder the class is, the larger potential it has but in return it starts weak and is difficult to perform well with. Specialities are unique, once one has been picked it cannot be chosen by another player. Good luck!"

'The classic hard to play, but even harder to master type' Jake thought. Not to lie, Jake kind of liked that type of playstyle. He would not care if he failed a million times, as long as he succeeded once. He would always be the one to make long intricate and highly complex decks in card games. Shortly after five different cubes appeared in front of him. On each there stood a different class, Jake already knew he wanted to be an archer, he clicked on it. "You have chosen archer" appeared in front of him, then 6 more cubes appeared. Jake had always been a huge fan of stealth games, he opted towards a more sneaky playstyle, so he clicked the stealthy archer cube.

Then a seemingly limitless list appeared in front of him, the list was filled with a lot of rectangles, each of them containing the specialities. Jake saw multiple different rectangles disappearing but he decided not to rush. Instead, he took his time looking through everything almost too slowly, he thought after all that he would be stuck with this speciality for the rest of his playthrough so why not pick carefully. He saw multiple different names, " Blue Flame archer, "Earthen archer" "Elven archer" "Eye archer", "Strengthened archer". Shockingly, as he was scrolling through he noticed that there was not a lot of black specialities, actually there were practically none and every time he would see one, they would seem uninteresting and frankly not worth it compared to others classes. But he kept on scrolling, a few minutes passed, then an hour and then multiple hours, then something he saw something peculiar. There was one speciality that was black, almost blacker then the other blacks, it said "Death Archer ~ Death and black magic become imbued in the host". 'sounds too interesting to pass up so fuck it' he thought as he clicked the rectangle and started his journey.
