A friend and level up

Slayer Norman was an ordinary studient.

He wasn't specialy popular, he was trying to be a normal guy without any problem, he was smart more than most of his comrades but he was hiding that fact not wanting to get noticed.

Being almost transparent, that was how he was living.

Why?

Because anyone being invisible was the best way to avoid problems.

He was always like that.

He was living with his mother since his father died in an accident during a business trip when he was six.

His mother was working hard, so he didn't want to cause anything that would put his mother in trouble.

Then he continued like this untill one day were something terrible happened.

He was in his classroom looking outside from the window when someone began to talk to him.

???:Hum…Slay! A shy female voice said from behind him.

He was wondering who would come to talk to him, he was always alone and never tried to make friends.

So who?

He then turned round to see who it was.

It was a girl from his class, she was like him, always alone.

Slay:What is it? He replied.

???:Hum…I am Sara Kyle! She said in a panicking tone.

Slay was wondering why would she talk to him and how did she know his name despite him being almost invisible.

Slay:Nice to meet you, I am Slayer Norman! He replied.

She looked embarrassed.

Slay:So what can I do for you? He asked calmly.

Sara:Well, I've always seen you alone since we were in the same class, and…I was wondering if we could…Be friend! She said in a cute embarrassed way.

Slay was speechless, she didn't only noticed him but also wanted to be his friend.

The only thing in his mind at that moment was the question:"Why?"

Slay:Why do you want to be my friend? He asked her a little confused.

Sara:Well, you see, everyone seems to have already formed their group and I don't want to break their habits, but when I watch you it looks like I can be friend with you, it's like an intuition! She stated.

Slay was confused, but when he thought of it he was wondering if have her like friend wouldn't be that bad.

Slay:Why not? Let's be friend then! He stated.

Sara's eyes were shining from joy at hearing these words.

Sara:Really? She asked for confirmation.

Slay nodded in response.

Then they began to talk of all and nothing, as the talked Slay began to feel something new.

(So it is like that to have friend?) He thought.

After courses were finished, they went home.

The next day they went home together.

Slay:Where do you live? He asked.

Sara:In the west district! She replied.

Slay:It seems that we were more close than we thought! He said.

Sara:What do you mean? She asked.

Slay:I live there as well! He said.

Sara:Really? Then why wouldn't you come visit us, we have a little cafe? She proposed.

Slay:Would that really be fine? He asked.

Sara:Of course we are friend after all! She replied.

Slay:Okay, then like it will be saturday I'll come tomorrow! He stated.

Sara:Yeah! She said in a lively tone.

(She looks like a different person frol the shy girl from yesterday!) He thought as seeing her like that.

The next day.

Slay was in casual clothes in front of the cafe.

He notice that there was a bunch of car infront of the building.

He heard some strange noises inside.

(What's going on inside?) He asked himself.

There was a plate with "closed" written on it on the door, but Sara told him he could come the previous day so he decided to go in.

Then he entered inside of the cafe after knocking at the door.

As soon as he was inside, the door was close by a man in black suit.

There was a bunch of man dressed like him inside.

Man1:Look like we hava an intruder boss! The mab stated.

Man2:What do we do with him? Another one asked.

Man3:Just put him with the others! The man that looked like the one they were calling boss ordered.

Slay was lost.

What was going on there?

Who are these guys?

And were is Sara?

They tied him with a rope before putting in a room in the basement. He didn't try to oppose any resistance knowing that that would just make things go worst.

Inside the room he saw Sara tied with some people that looked to be her father.

Slay:Sara?

Sara:Slay, is it you? She asked in a panicking tone.

Slay:Yes!

Man:Sara, who is that boy? He asked confused.

Sara:It's my friend, the one that was supposed to come! She explained.

Mr Kyle:Really? Sorry young man, seems that you are in trouble because of us! He apologized.

Slay was confused but knew that he wasn't responsible.

Slay:It's not you fault don't worry! He said to reassure them.

But what is going on? He asked.

Mr Kyle:Well, these men came here and began to

threaten us to give them the money of the case, but they weren't satisfied and sent us here when one of them is trying to open the coffer! He explained.

Slay:I see, so they'll gonna use us as hostages if the police come! He stated.

(What can I do?) He asked himself.

He was frustrated of being weak.

Then something strange appeared infront of him.

It was like a screen.

There was a question on it:Do you want to get strong?.

「Do you want to get strong?

Yes/No 」

(What is this?)

Then the door suddenly opened.

The men outside began to enter inside.

Boss:We have done what we wanted! We don't need you anymore! He stated.

Man1:What will we do with them? He asked.

Boss:let's get rid of them! He stated.

Slay and the others began to panic.

(What can I do? I must do something or they'll kill all of us)

(Why am I here again? I am not supposed to be here)

Man2:Hey boss, can we have some fun with the girl before that? He asked with a lustful gaze on Sara.

The other men as well were the same.

Then Slay remembered that it was for his friend that he was there.

Boss:Do as you please! He replied.

Mr Kyle:Please no, I'll do anything you want but spare my daughter! He begged them.

Slay was searching a way to save her but nothing.

Boss:You can't do anything for us, I sorry for your daughter for having an useless father like you! He said.

Then the other men began to try to abuse of Sara while she was fighting and screaming in attempt to fend them off.

Slay was cursing himself for being that weak.

Then he remember, the screen and the question.

「Do you want to get strong?

At that moment the time looked to have stop for him.

Then as it was said on the screen, the world seemed to be in slow motion for him.

Slay, cut the rope that was restraining him with the knife, then he made some cuts on the legs of several of the men, mainly those around Sara were those that he injured.

And as an ending he placed himself behind the boss and put his knife's blade under the boss' throat.

After that he stopped his skill and time began to run as usual.

Then all the men that he injured fell down on the floor with blood flowing out of their legs.

The others were surprised and confused by what just happened.

Then the boss realized that there was a knife under his throat.

Boss:What the hell…? He asked loudly with a surprised look.

Then Slay put more pressure on the knife.

Slay:Any move and your boss will die! He announced in a threatening tone.

The boss was more surprised.

Boss:What? When did you get ther…? He asked before being interrupted by more pressure ob his throat that began to bleed.

Slay:Quiet! He ordered.

Boss:You don't know against who you're going! He stated.

Slay:I don't care! He replied.

Just get out and never come back or you won't get out of here alive, the choice is yours! He stated.

The boss hesitated a moment before replying.

Boss:All right! Let's get out of here! He ordered.

Then they began to leave the place.

After all the men were out, Slay slowly let him go.

But before leaving, the boss said something.

Boss:It will not end here kid, we'll meet again! He said before leaving.

Slay was a little afraid about what would happen but he tried to not let any sign of weakness appear on his face.

Then the men leaved the cafe.

Slay sighed before falling on the ground exhausted.
