~10 minutes before the beginning .~~~~~~~~~

"I guess i have nothing else to do…"

I decided to go to the convenience store down the street of my rundown studio to get a can of soda because I was thirsty.

It was slightly snowing but I didn't bother to take my jacket, the store was nearby. I left the house and started walking.

While walking down the street I saw a black cat which was apparently looking at a homeless man who was sleeping with a cardboard.

"We will be saved!!!" Was what was written.

I chuckled a little thinking that that's how Western Horror movies start with some biblical verse, something random like *Matthew 24:36* or *Luke 21:25-26*.

I ignored the man and the cat, and continued on my Crusade for Soda and entered the 24/7 shop. I went straight for my can of Soda after greeting the old lady and having some small talk with her. Once the treasure was secured and I had closed off the fridge, I headed towards the counter to pay up for the soda. Once I reached the counter where the old lady who was called Nanny by the locals, she started smiling brightly.

"It's on the house Noir-Kun have it for free!"

"Nanny i can't possi-"

"Ara Ara, go on see the fireworks you still have a few minutes left"

After trying to fight my way with the coins i had in my hand, I decided to give up and try and give her a gift later in the week.

While exiting the 'Triple Seven', I noticed the black cat from earlier gazing at me with blue galaxy eyes that caught my gaze. After rubbing my eyes to make sure I was not dreaming, the cat had disappeared. I figure that I was imagining things and I just put the image aside in my head for the time being.

I started going up hill to be able to watch the fireworks from a better view. Once I arrived I took out my phone to check the exact time in Tokyo as it was going to be new year. I had added decimals to the clock for me to be able to check the exact difference between midnight and when the fireworks shoot.

Like every year I started mumbling the countdown starting from seven on my own.

"Seven, six, five, four, three-"

Before even finishing the countdown, the first Pop announced the New year to be starting.

Unsatisfied seeing it wasn't timed perfectly, i sighed and checked up my phone to see if i had received any messages from 'them' only to find myself surprised.

"Ugh? How comes the timer stopped? Did I program it to stop at exactly midnight?"

The way it stopped exactly at 00:00.000 made me feel like I had to wait another year to retry my experiment on synchronisation.

But as I looked up I-

"Matte Matte…"

I rubbed my eyes again to check if I was going insane but each time my eyes closed and opened the beautiful yet unnatural view I had in-front of me did not change.

"How…?"

I was shocked to see that the fireworks that had popped in the sky had not moved an inch.

I tried taking a picture of the phenomenon but even when I pressed the shutter of my phone, the usual click was no where to be heard. The picture didn't even save, and when I noticed that I did not hear the click of the shutter, I also realised that I wasn't hearing anything anymore, the wind was completely silent, the snow stopped moving, everything was paused.

"This can't be happening…really?"

When I started looking around to check whether I was really crazy or not I came to notice the cat that i saw earlier watching me.

Clearly puzzled by the turn of events while I was looking at the cat, the cat seemed amused like if he could see the question marks over my head.

"Hey-"

Before I could even speak, the dark dazzling sky started shining even brighter with the apparition of a falling star.

It seemed huge at first but it was as if the more it approached the city the less it was big without losing any density of light.

Once it was a hundred meters or so higher than the highest building in Tokyo, it stopped.

"Mind Blowing isn't it?"

As if it was not Mind blowing enough, THE CAT STARTED TALKING!

"Well anyways, I guess he was eager to show off"

As it said those words, a screen appeared in front of my face and I saw a kid around 14 smiling at the screen.

"Test one two one two? Can you hear me?"

As I pondered to the idea of answering 'Loud and Clear' he continued.

"Well duh you hear me I am a real god after all!" He said Proudly as if people were saying he was fake.

"Well anyways, Happy New Year everyone, your one and only Kami-Sama has come to you on this very special occasion to inform all of you that it is time!

I know this is a lot to handle for the few of you living under rocks or like sages, but I have already planted a few things for your mind to be prepared for this day and for you to act accordingly as well as how to start living from now on."

As I was pondering on what the self proclaimed god meant, i looked at my right to realise that speaking cat that was mocking me had apparently evolved into a full grown astonishing women with a Blue kimono with feather like patterns.

I was robbed of my words due to the events unfolding in front of me so i just looked at the women as she was apparently smoking a pipe.

"Excuse me-"

As i was going to ask her who she was she looked at me with a small smile as if i was some kind of trophy or achievement she had worked hard to get.

"Mikka, you will know everything in due time, do not rush, do not worry, we will meet again"

As she said those words she vanished into thin air, with no transitions whatsoever like a cut in space time itself.

"So from now on, I wish you all a great life, as the previous life you were all leading has come to an end! We have changed quite a few things. Enjoy!"

With that, the new found Jesus had disappeared and time itself started flowing back.

As I was clearly shocked I figured that staying on the hill was not going to help me.

"Anyways, tomorrow will be a new day, death isn't going to play with me."

As I had yet to experience the adventures ahead, I decided to go back to my studio and forget the scenes I had lived.
