Lost in Space

Void Between Dimensions

In the never-ending darkness occasionally streaks of multicolored light zapped from one space crack to another.

*shinnng*

A ball of red glowing light rushed from an unusually large crack and tried to zip to another but suddenly the space trembled and the ball of light staggered. The space near it fissured as a gaping hole was cleaved in space. A black tendril dashed out the hole toward the disoriented light ball.

The black tendril instantaneously wrapped itself around the light and tried to pull it inside the hole. The light ball didn't relent and wriggled its way out from between the tendril, and jumped toward the other space crack. Just as it was about to pass through it, the port fizzed out.

The hole from which the black appendage has emerged was also closing and pulling the tendril inside. Despite its best effort, it was pushed back from the void to its original dimension. The hole was gone but a window between dimensions remained open for a moment, allowing one to gaze into it.

Behind the screen, one could see a monstrosity that looked like it has emerged from the depth of Lovecraftian horrors. An infinite number of eyes with hatred and malice marred its ghastly black misty body as tentacles of darkness were gushing out and devouring fallen stars and drowning the horizon with their malevolence. The sight was so terror inducing and eerily scary that it could drive anyone insane. Truly a cosmic horror from boundaries unknown,

"Tch" a sound of dissatisfaction sounded in the void as it moved his attention to other things just as the mirror to the other side shattered and collapsed.

Meanwhile, the stream of light which has lost its predetermined path began to flicker as the fuel reserves which allowed it to travel, began to run dry.

In normal situations, it should have torn the fragile space fabric of the dimensional void or hijacked another Portway, to continue its journey but because of the untimely intervention of the outer god has accelerated the consumption of fuel and damaged its machinery.

Slowly the light dimmed out and a red capsule-shaped spaceship came into view. The front portion had a glass cover behind which an unconscious man lay and the body was made of strange metal which pulsed and pinged at random intervals

The body of the man was bloody and battered. He a missing a leg on his left and a hand on his right. His face was marred with a scar running from his left eye to his cheeks. His chest heaved up and down slowly. His heartbeat was so slow that it would make one wonder whether the being was in hibernation or something.

And bingo! that would be the correct answer.

The spaceship floated away in the void for an unknown period of time, occasionally colliding with asteroid, yet it remained unharmed.

After untold eons, a streak of life emerged from a space crack inside the void. In the course of its journey toward the next port, the light began to flicker brightly.

*BOOOOM*

The explosion spewed a buttload of metal fragments and different machines and a bright blue aura which destabilized the space and tore a large hole in the space-time fabric.

From inside of a metal fragment a black slimy liquid seeped out. Slowly more of it seeped out and condensed in the shape of a small cat. Two white eyes manifest on its head. It shook and stretched its slimy body like an animal coming out of a cage after a long time.

It opened its spiky maws and yawned cutely and scratched it's ears.

It then turned his head and took a look at its surrounding . When it gazed toward the black hole which was attracting every object toward itself, the cat-like slimy organism's eyes reflected fright and panic. Instinctively, it jumped away from the hole and coincidentally toward a crack of destabilized space. Half of its body passed through when it felt something weird.

Looking back, it saw his body stretched to an infinite length across space and stupendously he could feel his whole body. Then it started feeling a contracting force.

Flapping its appendages and kicking any small rocks or objects it found, he swam toward a red capsule to gain a footing. When it reached the capsule it wrapped its whole body around the small ship. Once his body stabilized he looked around the three-meter big capsule ship.

The metal and structure of the ship seemed ancient and the tech weird He had not seen many spaceships, but comparing this to the ship he was stored in after the vile beings kidnapped him from his home planet, it was totally different. Looking past the glass cover, it looked like a corpse was stored inside. The condition of the corpse itself can be described as poor even for a dead body.

The skin has dried and peeled off the body. All muscles could be seen from the outside and they too were dried and husky. The most strange part was the bones that could be seen from some places. Looking Carefully, the body was missing some limbs.

Just as it latched onto the body for a footing, the force of the dimensional black hole increased as did the gravity of the situation.

The metal fragments and the apparatus began to slowly accelerate toward it.

The organism tried to force its way through the crack but the space tunnel shredded the remaining half of its body just as an industrial blender would shred a newly born baby.

Half of its body which had latched to the humanoid being shuddered in pain and also sighed in relief which gave it an almost comical expression.

It looked at its body which was gravely injured. it would take years to recover itself in this lifeless environment. But hey, that was at least better than getting sucked inside the event horizon of a black hole, right?

It jumped in fright, almost losing its grip on the humanoid body due to the sharp sound.

It slowly turned his eyes backward and what he saw almost scared the life out of it.

The crack that was nearly closed was unfolding like cheese as the goo felt a strong force of attraction on the vessel.

Panicking, it began to circle the capsule frantically and slowly tired itself out and lost consciousness. Instinctively its body moved toward the male being and covered his body with a black cover before assimilating into it

*thump thump

An utterly impossible sound ringed from the body of the man whose body itself outdated the life cycles of myriad stars in the cosmos. If one could watch his body now, he would have seen the outer skin of the man recovering at a visible yet ignorable speed.

Slowly the decaying capsule with its inhabitant of past eons moved toward the space hole before colliding with the event horizon of it.

Under its immense gravitational force, the decaying capsule took its last breath as it bid farewell to its oldest friend, whose body was also experiencing the same yet withstood it.

Various streaks of light were coming out of cracks, but before they could move forward, the blackhole intervened in their path. Before the inhabitants inside could utter a word, they were disintegrated down to their last atom,

One such crack opened near the man's body and sucked him away.
