Gabby felt Blanca grasp the back of his shirt. "Gab, what on earth was that?"

"Demon and witch's blood, very fresh blood."

"Crap."

"We need to help, Dimitri!"

"Help him?"

"Yes-"

"Miss Vergil, Dimitri is surely capable of killing a demon or witch, especially a wounded one." Gabby snorted with an ugly smile that Blanca hated. She rolled her eyes instead.

But she shifted with a flare of discomfort. She wasn't a saint. Far from it.

The simple fact was that she had her precious enemies after her. Gabby might have considered her blood tainted, being she was half werewolf and half vampire, and humans considered her some sort of freak. When she did find someone willing to accept her for who she was and what she was, she would do a lot more than risk Dimitri's fury to keep her safe.
