Arriving at Liam's pack. The alpha stormed into the pack doctor's office. "Are you out of your mind?" he demanded. He looked angry enough to demolish a few city blocks himself.

Blanca stepped between him and her team.

He spoke in a soft, harsh hiss. "Why, in the name of fuck, did you run from a werewolf and a demon?"

"They weren't just any demon or werewolf, Liam" Blanca said patiently. "They were different. Powerful."

Behind her, Cara wept softly, as though she were reliving her nightmare in the alley.

"Different," Liam said flatly, clearly unimpressed.

"Yes, different," Sharon told him. "They were mutated somehow. Like Anda this morning, their own powers were heightened. And they possessed the powers of many more supernatural beings. They were like no demon or werewolf I've ever seen before. Nothing hurt them. Nothing. Not even when Warrior One shot them in the head."

"Decapitation?" Liam asked.
