29 Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to your boss

"All vitals are up to the mark. There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with your body. You are as healthy as a horse." Li Yang declared as he emerged from the room attached to the president's office after finishing his brief check-up on Elliot.

"I already said that I was fine! Why did you come here in the first place? Aren't you busy with that Monkey gang case?" Elliot asked frowning, not liking the ordeal to go through a health check-up.

Li Yang turned to look Jay, who standing at the corner of the room with a pleading gaze. "Cough…. I just felt that it's been a while since I gave you a health check-up. What? Don't tell me that I cannot even worry about my best friend" Li yang said as an answer to Jay's silent plea.

"Hey! I just asked okay. Of course, you can" Elliot said rubbing his temples not wanting to argue with his friend now. He sometimes felt that his best friend had the capacity to beat a girl at emotional blackmailing. It was a tiring day to begin with as he had to deal with many meetings and paperwork as he had just taken over the position of the president. He felt his head now began to ache after dealing with this entire check-up routine, after a tiring day at work. He picked- up the intercom kept on his office desk and called Rain over as he landed on his office chair and reverted back to do his pending work ignoring the two people in his room.

Meanwhile, Li Yang sat down on the sofa which was placed at the centre of the office and beckoned Jay over. "What the hell man? Why did you call me in an emergency. Do you know how much work I had to keep on hold because of this. I thought it was something serious and I almost ran into an accident while rushing here. Were you playing a prank at me? Tell me?" he said almost scowling.

"Trust me. I was not trying to play a prank on you. You will know it all in a while" Jay muttered.

Just then a knock was heard on the door.

"Erena, bring me a cup of coffee" Elliot ordered Rain as soon as she entered the office.

Li Yang's jaws dropped. Just as he was about to recover from this shock, another bomb dropped on him.

"Huge amount of caffeine intake is not good for your health, Kai. Why don't I brink you some freshly squeezed juice?" Rain could no longer take his unhealthy habits, thanks to her brothers who made sure that she knew what was good for her health and what wasn't.

Elliot frowned. His expression matching with that of Li Yang. 'Shit! She's done for. She dared to address him as "Kai" even now, and to top that she refused to bring him coffee which I believe is literally flowing through his veins by now. Huh! If it was that easy to make him lower his coffee intake, the number of times I took medicines for my headache would decrease by ninety nine percent' thought Li Yang.

Just as Elliot was about to rebuke her, his gaze once again landed on those pair of innocent eyes which seemed to have hypnotising effect on him. "Okay. Get me some juice then."

"Alright" saying this Rain exited the office.

Thunder struck Li Yang. His jaws opened and his eyes almost popped out. His gaze reverted to his friend, then to the door from where Rain just exited and then back at his friend who came off as a complete stranger to him at the moment. Then he finally looked at Jay at the corner of the room who looked at the whole situation like a monk, who was already enlightened, and no worldly affairs could affect him in any way.

He quickly grabbed his phone and called his assistant "Misha, lockdown the entire hospital and prepare to do a detailed body check-up on President Elliot asap." After ending the call, he treaded towards Jay and patted his shoulder "You had a tough day man. You did the right thing by calling me. Don't worry. I won't let anything happen to your boss. "
