Female lead: Audrey Monroe

Audrey is a shy, awkward seventeen-year-old girl who spent her life moving from one country or state to another until recently. She moves to the noisy, busy New York city with her mother and brother. some of her qualities, like being the only one who has multicolored hair and having a hideous birthmark make her seem out of place in the human world, where she meets and falls in love with Ace Rodriguez, a male vampire who was sent by her father to watch over her till she's of age, the fact that she is a hybrid is a constant theme in her relationship with ace, as it is forbidden to mate with a hybrid as the story progress she'll discover her powers which include foreseeing the future, super fast reflexes, resistances to silver, etc.

Male lead: Ace Rodriguez

Ace is an inhumanely handsome guy in new york. Aubrey falls in love with him and then finds out that he was a vampire and that he was sent by her father to look after her, especially during her transition.

He has super fast reflexes, speed, and teleportation. He worries that he isn't good enough for her as the sins he had committed in the past weigh him down. he was born in the 1850s in Spain and was the first of his family to be turned by Marisa when they were both getting married. he has the power to read his mind which is unique. he is very concerned about what the council would do to Aubrey when they find out about their forbidden love as their love matures, he gradually becomes more and more bond to challenge the council if they dared to take her away.

Important minor characters

Liam Monroe: Audrey's brother and best friend. He has been with Aubrey all his life, moving from one country to another, she is the only stable thing in his life and he cares for her a lot. although he is younger than her, he is extremely protective of her and very violent, he wasn't in support of her relationship with Ace as he believes he will break her heart, when he tried to talk her out of seeing Ace and she refused him outrightly, he went mad and ran away into the woods where he stumbled on Samantha an evil purebred vampire who turned him after they both had sex, he became her ally and she used him at her will like a puppet, her last request was for him to kill his sister who is a threat to her colony the black tide colony.

Ana Monroe: Liam's biological mother and Aubrey's foster mother, she is a petite woman who fell in love with Wyatt and got pregnant for him not knowing what he was until much later, that wasn't the only shocker she received, she also got to know he has a two-year-old daughter, all these she took it well but what killed her was his sudden departure and it led her into taking drugs, etc that singular act of his caused her to hate Aubrey his daughter and it made her angry to see her and her son together but there was nothing she could do.

Samantha Peterson: An evil vampire and a member of the black tide colony, a former member of the white bird colony she is bloodthirsty and loves power and can do anything to get to the top, she turned Liam into a vampire even though it's against the vampire's law.

Aiden: another member of the black tide colony who was sent to capture Aubrey, he fell head over heels for her which puts him in grave danger to his colony.

Smith: Aubrey's biological father, is the founding member of the white bird colony to which Ace belongs, he went away from his family so as not to endanger their lives as he foresaw the future that if he didn't leave, they will be killed. he loves his family so much especially Aubrey, the daughter of his first love and wife.

Allison: Aubrey Monroe's evil twin sister, she doesn't possess any power Aubrey possess but she is a shapeshifter. During Aubrey's mother's delivery, a black tide member found out the secret. He went to the human hospital and manipulated a human to bring one of the children and that turned out to be Allison. She was trained for evil, bred to do what her "father" asked her to. She will kill Liam (although he will be brought back to life).

Wyatt Monroe: One of the founders of the vampire race, he fell in love with a human and had a daughter but the love of his life died. In his fragile state he got another human pregnant and bore a son. Unknown to him, he had another daughter. He left his family when he found out that another vampire who lived as long as he did and is part of the black tide colony is trailing him, he didn't have time to say a proper good bye or to stage a death to fool people of his intending disappearance so he left hoping to go back one day.

Asher: An old vampire, he is the mastermind of all evil. He hates Wyatt because of a beef they had a long time ago, he will stop at nothing to cause him pain.
