9 Mike's Decision

Ohma's transformation was really hideous and crude. It was as if characteristics from two completely different species were mixed together in a single being. Both Laison and the audience was baffled while the latter was unimpressed by the crude transformation but former was reeling from shock due to the sudden increase in pressure.

Laison's expression became solemn and he decided to go all out. 20 more portals manifested and what came out of them wasn't any weapon made from silver aura but all twenty of them were made of shining golden aura. Their lethality was far more potent than the silver ones. These were weapons he received from his mother after joining Academy.

Without a second to waste Laison aimed at Ohma with all his focus.

Sound of air being ripped apart came followed by deafening explosions. But none of the projectiles managed to touch Ohma. He was moving at a very high speed even Laison was barely able to follow him let alone the audience. But after one weapon was destroyed another one was made and slowly their speed kept increasing. After around 10 seconds the portals also started shifting places. Laison mobilized everything in his arsenal all the tactics he could think of. He was barely able to follow ohma's movements and keeping all 20 golden spears above his head as a protective shell. He wanted to lure ohma and knew for sure ohma will have to make contact with him in order to attack.

No matter how fast ohma was he was still unable to evade all attacks and was eventually hit by some. That made him sure the silver ones weren't able to pierce his skin he only had to be careful of the gold ones. With that he darted towards Laison at full speed. Laison immediately mobilized the golden spears for frontal assault. Unlike his silver weapons the gold weapon were more durable. One of them flew pass by ohma's left side leaving a scratch along with a sizzling sound. It hardly took ohma 3 seconds to reach Laison. Laison was now in a hands length but then ohma noticed a faint ripple in air surrounding Laison in a circular manner. He was too far and in haste thus unable to notice it but now when he did it was late. He had no choice extending his hand he forcefully entered the barrier. The skin on his hands was being destroyed at a fast rate followed by his muscles, just when the claw was about to grasp his face Laison disappeared and appeared on the other end of the arena. Ohma quickly retracted his hand, it was half destroyed but healing at a visible rate.

Now along with all the weapons had a silver aura radiating around them. It was the ability Laison got after his second awakening where he can control small fragments of space to surround himself in a sphere and the same could be used to coat his weapons increasing their sharpness and penetration to another level. Laison was relaxed while he was no match for ohma in terms of strength and speed, it wasn't hard to tire him out using projectiles and even if he managed to shorten the gap it would only take few seconds to escape from his grasp again.

While dodging all the projectiles ohma started thinking of countermeasures. He could guess Laison's thinking and if this continued he would lose no matter what. So he decided to take a gamble rushing towards laison with full speed. Laison mobilized all twenty of the golden spears while the translucent circular dome surrounding him thickened.

With incredible swiftness Ohma evaded them. While 17 were evaded three struck ohma. one lodged in his upper body beside his intestines, another one in his thighs and the third one in his hands. While Laison called other 17 spears back, ohma made a 360 rotation and using his incredible strength threw the spear in his hand towards Laison. The spear came 4 times the speed and pierced the circular barrier in an instant but before it could touch Laison he disappeared. Laison appeared at another end of arena and was shocked to see another spear in ohma's hands the one which had previously drilled a hole in his thighs. The same scenario repeated again and laison barely escaped the tip of spear and in haste was unable to mobilize any attacks but the third time he appeared a spear was already before his eyes which he was unable to escape.

BOOOOOM

with a deafening impact he was pasted on the thick metal walls surrounding the arena. The spear was lodged in Laison's head and he was motionless. His life signs had already vanished. This all happened hardly in 3-4 seconds not enough to be stopped. The officers were in shock, it all happened too quickly. Laison was sure to win according to the spectators but who would have thought ohma would subvert the entire match in a matter of seconds. Barrier was put out, officers entered the arena to diagnose Laison but his brain was already turned to mush.

Ohma had two holes opened in his body while his wounds were healing rapidly he was still feeling rather fatigued due to loss of energy. A medical team came and took him to the medical facility.

While this was happening two people were staring at ohma from audience seats. They were none other than Mark and Clay.

"You did prepare the doctors, right?" Mark questioned Clay

"Of course, everything has been prepared beforehand and by the looks of it he is heavily injured and unable to resist" she answered

" That's good, what a marvelous surprise, who would have thought this much growth in the measly span of 3 months now many will get aware of his potential, so make sure to control him without any hitch"

It turned out there was a procedure that every contestant after leaving arena had to undergo a medical diagnose thus after Ohma challenged Laison, Mark and Clay already made all the preparations beforehand to inject Nanites and Neurotoxin inside Ohma. Since Ohma challenged Laison he must be confident in his abilities. In public Laison was rank 18 so Mark expected ohma to be that much capable at least but him defeating Laison was an unexpected surprise for him as for Laison's death it won't affect him much since Academy will be held responsible for that. He only had to focus on his own maneuvers.

While silent forces started moving, a person had exceptionally jubilant smile on his face. He was Mike and he decided to support ohma and reveal the perpetrator to ohma. He was astonished by ohma's growth and even more surprising was his combat power and his fighting sense. He was sure now investing in ohma is the right decision and if played on time he would be able to complete his objective as well. As for Ohma going against Alisa, Mike had nothing to do with that but he was sure Ohma won't go down without a fight and if his growth speed is consistent then he might become a formidable enemy for the empire.

"Make sure those idiots don't succeed" mike ordered

"By your will" and a silent reply came from the shadows

Mike was already aware about Mark and Clay and this wasn't the first time they tried something nefarious. Before he didn't bother with them but now since their interests clashed he had no qualms in taking care of them. He had to prepare in advance since a storm was coming in Malar.
