1 Prologue

The immaculate, wooden door creaked shut and the Queen rose from her stone throne. Her robotic, unmoving green eyes looked directly at Emilie who shivered and glanced around her. She stared up at the light that was so bright, it hurt her eyes and peeked at the motionless soldiers who stood by the walls so still that they couldn't possibly have life. Then she turned back to the evil ruler who smiled with no amusement and greeted her with a sharp, cold voice. "Emilie Tillman." She said and Emilie couldn't help but jump slightly at the intensity of the tone, "you could have a whole immortal life, yet you wish to be human and proceed to death." The room continued to be silent as no one spoke. Despite the glares of the cyborgs piercing her back, Emilie did not shrivel with shame and embarrassment, but instead held her head high. Proudly and boldly, she said, "Yes, your majesty, that's what I wish for." The Queen observed her face carefully.

"Such a shame." She tutted with a shake of her head. "You would make such a beautiful cyborg, just like Julie." The mention of her changed mother made her heart ache with both pain and fury. Gritting her teeth, Emilie muttered, "Julie is my mother no longer. She is my mother as long as she is human."

The Queen glared as she answered.

"She is not dead at the very least."

"Why would I care?"

"Because even though she is a cyborg and you claim is none of your concern, she is still your mother and I know for a fact you worry about her."

"I don't worry about her." She lied. But truthfully, she did worry deeply for her mother. She worried for her safety, even though she would never die or get hurt, and most of all, she worried for her mind. The Queen had the power to control every robot's thoughts and movement. And looking around again, Emilie realized that the guards were being steered, and perhaps her mother was too, somewhere in the palace.

"I will not let you," she said, balling her hands into fists, "kill or transform anyone else."

"Anyone else?" The Queen repeated. "You mean-"

"I mean you won't hurt any more humans." Emilie stated confidently, and the Queen simply stared with disbelief. The room was quiet as a pin drop until soon, they could hear the sudden, loud thumps coming from the large, wooden door.

"What- "

"Surprise." Said Emilie with a wide grin, and the door collapsed as tens or perhaps hundreds of people barged into the marble room, raising their fists and yelling furiously of their outrage. And all of them were holding large, shiny blasters that no doubt would shoot out-

"Electrical charge." Gasped the Queen. It was for the first time that she was rendered as completely and utterly speechless.
