Chapter 9
Time to know
It's dinner time for the royals. All came together to eat in the dining room on this wonderful night. Everywhere was silent as they obeyed the table manner of not speaking while eating.
The king had been watching his daughter silently, wondering if she was already told about her destiny. At this moment, he couldn't wait any longer, curiosity got the best of him and he had to break the rule of not speaking while eating. He is the king, such rules can't be over him
King Klein: (wipes his mouth with a napkin) Aly my dear, I've you been told about the prophecy?
Alysia: (wipes her mouth too) You mean the prophecy of Light and death. The one by which light has to fight death from arbitration?
King Klein: (a little tensed) Yes dear
Alysia: Yes. I have heard of it Dad. I got to know of it during history class
King Klein: You mean, you haven't been told anything by anyone?
Alysia: (a little confused) um. No.
I got to know of it myself
King Klein: (speaks to himself) that means postinur hadn't talk to her yet
Okay, my dear
Alysia: Why ask Dad?
King Klein: Um just wanna Know if you know that already (looks tensed)
Queen odessy who had been watching father and daughter conversation decided to speak, seeing how tensed her husband is
Queen odessy: Yes. My daughter. You are old enough to know about that kind of history dear. I mean, Lydia knows it, and you're coming of age, not bad if you know it too
Alysia: Oh, that's understood. (Smiles at Lydia who was just watching them as if there's a show in front of her)
King Klein: (mouths a thank you to his wife, who nods In response) Well, how's your meal, Lydia dear
Lydia: I'm enjoying it, Uncle, it's delicious (smiles broadly)
King Klein: Good to hear
Alysia: Thank you father, thank you mother. I'm satisfied. (Rises to leave)
King Klein: Eat some more, Ally
Alysia: (giggles) I'm okay Dad. (Walks to peck him) I'm just exhausted and need to sleep.
King Klein: Alright, my darling
Queen Odessy: Um, I'm waiting for my peck too?? (All laugh)
Alysia: (pecks her mom) Love you momma
Queen odessy: Love you too (kisses her forehead)
Alysia: Goodnight Dad, goodnight Mom, goodnight Lydia (bows)
Queen Odessy: Night night sweetie
King Klein: Sleep tight
Lydia: Sweet dreams (Alysia leaves them)
Alysia goes to her room and sees Postinur waiting
Alysia: Postinur, Hey
Postinur: Hey too
Alysia: I'm exhausted!
Postinur: Feeling sleepy?
Alysia: Not really. I just left the dining because the air around was kinda tensed
Postinur: How tensed
Alysia: Dad asked me if I hadn't been told by someone about the prophecy. Like was he expecting me to be told something?
I would have asked him but mom cut in and said it wasn't bad for me to know. But by Dad's expression, I knew there was something more
Postinur: Well, there is. And I'm the one expected to tell you
Alysia: (looks confused) Uh?!?
Postinur: Yeap, Your dad knows about me. Infact, I was made to guide you and protect you till your destiny is fulfilled
Alysia: what destiny
Postinur: (looks at her and breaths out) That you are the girl in the prophecy
Alysia: What?!? You're kidding right! Tell me it's one of your jokes!!
Postinur: Aly..
Alysia: So, you mean, you died because of me but still had to remain in the world in order to still stay by my side always? You mean, your destiny was to protect me??
Postinur: Aly, my destiny is to protect you and yes, that is why I'm still on Earth.
No need to feel bad Ally, I love being by your side always (Alysia looks at him in disbelief) trust me, Ally. It's like an honor.
Sit on the bed (Ally sits, postinur sits besides her) Hold my hands
Alysia: Postinur, my hands will pass through you
Postinur: Not if I reveal myself and become visible
Alysia: Wait. (Alysia rushes to the door and locks it and locks the windows too) I don't wanna take any chances (postinur smiles and becomes visible)
Postinur: Common. Hold my hands. I wanna take you back into when and how you were born
Flash back
Today is another day of the daily activities of the kingdom. Maids are doing the chores and working round the castle, guards are doing their jobs, the king in a meeting with the court.
Queen Odessy sat down in her room, staring at the window and looking at the trees dancing and waving happily to the cool breeze of the late winter morning. Tears trickled down her cheeks, her mind drifted in her own thoughts.
King Klein entered the room, saw queen Odessy crying and hugged her quietly, tapping her to keep calm, but queen Odessy sobbed louder than before, the king himself became sober. They were sad because of something that has been missing for about fifteen years of their marriage. A child, to make their smile real and their life complete.
After several minutes of cuddling, king Klein raised Queen Odessy's chin and kissed her soft lips. He wiped her tears and smiled at her, he just got an idea!
King Klein: my dear Odessy, I just thought of something that will take away our sorrow
Queen Odessy: tell me, my beloved king.
King Klein: why don't we ask the seer to ask the gods of a child for us?
Queen Odessy: no, Klein, there is always a consequence to that, I don't want to take risks
King Klein: Odessy my love, we would have to bear the consequence, whatever it is, I am tired of seeing you in pain. I am sure we would be able to handle it
Queen Odessy: (sobs) okay klein. We just have to do it. I want to carry my own child, I want to give you an heir(sobs)
King Klein: Odessy, stop crying, it hurts! Let's call for the seer(wipes her face with his palms). I love you, my Odessy
Queen Odessy: I love you too my Klein
The decision has been made. They would ask a child from the gods and bear the consequences attached to it.
The next day, They met with the seer who told them that the child they would have in 10 months time, will be the princess of the Prophecy, one of the descendants of the god of light. They promised to help her with her destiny and love her unconditionally
