I lost Her

Lord Damascus finally fell asleep after the crying and all. He was already down with a headache and high temperature. Aurora had called in a physician who had sedated him and treated him. She sighed seeing how he was.

She knew this was bound to happen. The young lady was the Prince's and not for anyone else. No matter how he rejects her (though he didn't) she would still be his.

The morning sun shone brightly into the room, blinding Otis who had opened his eyes at that moment. He instantly shut them back before he groaned. He stood to his feet and walked to the window, dragging the curtain to prevent the ray of sunlight.

He went into the bathroom to freshen and wore the cloth that Aurora had placed on the sofa. In his white shirt and black khaki, he looked spectacular. He wore a long lengthened coat and paired it with black shoes. Who wouldn't love this handsome Young Lord?

"Good morning," muttered Aurora when she saw Otis come down the stairs.

"Thanks for caring for me, Rora," said Otis with a wide smile.

"Welcome, take a seat," said Aurora.

The both of them were too close that people usually thought they were lovers. How ironic, they weren't.

"I hope you are going to make use of your brain. Don't go around looking at Moon with longings filled with affection," mumbled Aurora.

"I lost her and I don't think I can give up on her," uttered Otis which made Aurora grit her teeth.

"You should give up. I am advising you as a friend would do, Otis. You know Harvey isn't just anyone. If he's interested in Moon, then there isn't anyone or anything that will take her from him," said Aurora.

No matter how close they were to the prince, it didn't mean he wouldn't ever punish them.

"I think he is," said Otis as he forced a slice of apple down his throat.

"He is?"

"He knows Moon they know each other. He was angry about the betrothal but when he saw she was the one, he had been happy," said Otis.

"Then that gives you the answer, he is interested in her," mumbled Aurora.

"But she isn't interested in him. She hates his guts. She doesn't want a whoring husband," said Otis, and Aurora glared at him.

"No matter what, you shouldn't ever call him that. You are aware that it was circumstances that caused it," uttered Aurora to which Otis scoffed.

"She isn't interested in him, but she might be interested in me…" murmured Otis and Aurora shook her head. If this was how love could turn someone, then she'd never want to fall in love.

"Ok? She might be. I laugh, Otis. You know she hasn't ever and wouldn't ever be interested in you," said Rora as she sipped her strawberry juice from the cup.

"Be positive."

"You are clearly saying you are going to make the future Queen of Ashbourne cheat on the prince with you? Your imagination has gone wild, Otis," said Aurora

"I know. All she would do is tell the Prince and everyone that she fell for someone who certainly wasn't the prince," uttered Otis

"And if the Prince still doesn't let her go?"

"Then, I'll elope with her," mumbled Otis.

"Damn. Just eat and go to work. I wonder how much distance you will cover from here to the palace. I hope you don't get sacked," said Aurora.

When Otis was done eating breakfast, he left in his carriage and got to the palace after an hour and a half.

But before then, Prince Harvey had taken the duty to wake his Moon. He had tapped her on the shoulder, causing Moon to whine as she had forgotten that she wasn't in her home.

"You should get up," Harvey said, and instantly, Moon jolted from her slumber. She pulled the duvet on her chest and glared at the prince.

"It's quite disrespecting being in a lady's room without an invite," said Moon

"I am in the room of my soon-to-be bride, so there isn't anything bad at all," said Harvey without an ounce of shame.

"Well, My Prince, this bride of yours is uncomfortable," said Moon, emphasizing the 'Prince'.

"It's Harvey for you," said Prince Harvey. "The maids will dress you up. Come down for breakfast, I'll be waiting." Harvey uttered before leaving.

"God!" exclaimed Moon when she saw the maids enter her room.

They beautifully dressed her, making her look like a bride, even though she wasn't one yet.

The dresses she had brought from her father's house were placed on one side and surely, the possibility of her wearing them was thin as her wardrobe was filled with dresses.

She got out and was led to the dining hall. It'd take some time for her to know her way around here.

"Good Morning," Moon greeted as she bowed and knelt a bit.

"Morning, my love. Come," said the Queen.

The King smiled at her and the rest returned her greeting. She sat beside the Queen and the person who was a chair away from Harvey sat opposite her, smiling. She had smiled also and took her eyes off him when she saw how Harvey glared at her.

"You should taste this. I specifically made it for you," said the Queen as she directed the maid to place a fully marinated chicken on her plate.

Moon's eyes widened. She had always complained of how luxurious they were living, but this, this was too much. The Queen gave her a full chicken to eat. How would she eat it all?

"Thank you, Your Majesty, but I don't think I would be able to down these all," said Moon awkwardly.

"You don't have to, just taste it and tell me how it is," said the Queen with a wide and bright smile.

"It's good," said Moon with widened eyes.

Her definition of Royals wasn't the way it turned out to be. This Queen of Ashbourne was superb.
