Sightseeing

On the last day of their business trip, Alisha and Zeriel had successfully signed off on a crucial contract. It didn't take them much time, and with their work responsibilities complete, Zeriel wanted to make the most of their remaining time in the city.

Knowing it was Alisha's first business trip, Zeriel wanted to show her a glimpse of the local culture and landmarks. "I know these few days have been quite tough on you, since it's our last day here, allow me to show you around the city what do you think?" He asked her as they moved closer to the car, "I'd love to," she replied excitedly. They embarked on a short sightseeing tour, exploring the unique architecture and bustling streets. The city came alive at night, with vibrant lights and a lively atmosphere.

As they walked through the lively streets, Alisha's eyes sparkled with joy as she caught sight of street food vendors. Her curiosity piqued, "I want some Zeriel" she suggested they stop and indulge in some local delicacies. "I'm starving"she declared Zeriel, however, hesitated. He had reservations about street food, considering it unhealthy and unhygienic. "You can get for yourself alone" he replied as they walked towards the elderly man selling the grilled meat.

The elderly man welcomed them and mistook them as couples. They exchanged knowing glances and shared a laugh, used to this assumption by now. "No, we're just colleagues on a work trip," Zeriel replied with a friendly smile. Alisha nodded in agreement, adding, "Yes, we're here to explore the local culture and collaborate on a project."

The elderly man nodded understandingly and began to prepare their orders. As he skillfully prepared the grilled meat, Zeriel and Alisha engaged in small talk, discussing the city's landmarks and hidden gems. The vendor's passion for his food and the city was evident in every word he spoke.

Finally, their food was ready, The vendor observed their enthusiastic enjoyment and commented, "You two seem to share a strong connection. It's great that you can travel and work together."

Zeriel and Alisha exchanged a glance, appreciating the friendship and professional bond they had formed. "Yes, we're fortunate to have a great working relationship," Zeriel answered with a grateful smile.

The vendor smiled, pleased to see their camaraderie. "Well, it's wonderful to have good friends who can rely on each other. Enjoy your meal and make the most of your time here!" They thanked the vendor and found a nearby spot to sit.

As they sat together, Zeriel and Alisha reflected on the many times they had been mistaken for a couple during their business trips. They had learned to embrace it, understanding that their supportive relationship allowed them to work effectively.

Alisha, eager to experience the authentic flavors of the city, convinced Zeriel to give it a try. "Here try some" She playfully nudged him, wanting to share her excitement. Zeriel, unable to resist her infectious enthusiasm, relented and decided to give in to her request.

With each bite, Alisha savored the explosion of flavors on her palate, relishing in the local spices and aromas. Zeriel cautiously took his first bite, surprised by how delicious it was. The combination of spices, textures, and aromas left his taste buds pleasantly surprised. He couldn't help but feel a sense of joy and newfound appreciation for this aspect of the city's culture.

As they continued their nighttime stroll and indulged in the street food together, a camaraderie began to form. Their inhibitions melted away, replaced by shared laughter and the simple joy of experiencing something new together. With each passing moment, Alisha and Zeriel found themselves growing closer, discovering new layers to each other's personalities.

As they finished trying the street food, Zeriel and Alisha were making their way back to the car. Alisha felt a sudden thirst and decided to go get water. Zeriel kindly offered to go and get it for her, but feeling guilty for inconveniencing her boss, Alisha quickly decided to cross over to meet him without watching for any potential dangers.

In her haste, Alisha nearly collided with a guy on a bicycle. Unfortunately, she lost her balance and fell down, resulting in a sprained ankle. Zeriel heard the commotion and rushed back to her side.

He was filled with concern for Alisha's well-being. He rushed over to her, his worry evident on his face. Alisha slowly stood up, battling through the pain, but it quickly became clear that she couldn't walk, let alone leap, with her injured ankle. Adding to her misfortune, her heels had broken during the fall.

Zeriel's anger dissipated as he saw Alisha's pain and realized it was an accident caused by her concern for him. He gently lifted her off her feet and carried her in his arms, careful not to cause her any further discomfort. Alisha felt a mix of embarrassment and gratitude, appreciating Zeriel's immediate support during her moment of distress.

Zeriel carried Alisha back to the car and instructed her to wait while he quickly returned to the vendor to purchase the water she had wanted.

Realizing the severity of her injury, Zeriel quickly improvised and went to a nearby pharmacy to get some ointment for Alisha's sprained ankle. He returned and handed her the water. With gentle care, he applied the ointment, "It will hurt a little," he said, trying to alleviate her pain as much as possible. He assured her that she would be fine and that he was there to support her. "You need to stop being so clumsy " he teased her.

As Zeriel drove back to the hotel, they engaged in a lighthearted conversation, attempting to distract Alisha from her discomfort. Their initial frustration and worry were replaced by a bond that grew stronger in the face of unexpected challenges.

Upon returning to the hotel, Zeriel carried Alisha up to their room, ensuring she was comfortable before tending to her sprained ankle. Gently, he wrapped it in a cold compress, offering soothing words of reassurance as he did so. Alisha couldn't help but admire his caring nature, finding solace in his presence.

With their tension diffused, a more relaxed atmosphere began to fill the room. Alisha and Zeriel engaged in small talk, distracting themselves from the day's events. Their conversation gradually turned lighter, allowing them to momentarily forget about the accident and enjoy each other's company.

As the night wore on, exhaustion took over their bodies and the weight of the day's events pulled at their eyelids. Alisha thanked Zeriel once more for his kindness. Zeriel tucked her in bed and bid her Goodnight and headed to his room.

Alisha felt within herself that Zeriel seemed to have changed a lot, "I prefer this new Zeriel  to the previous cold distant man I met before" she whispered,  her thoughts kept creeping in as she flashes back to all the sweet caring memories of each moment in their trip. She finally yawned and drifted off to sleep.
