Chapter Three

“Whoa? Arwyn, I think they often do fencing,” said William,

“Well, I don’t really know the reason for their weird hobby, maybe they want to sell swords? anyway, because they and I thought that today we had no more customers,

as you see now, they do their weird wild hobby, I sip this,” answered Arwyn, raising his body with a look of indifference,

Then as soon as he put down the glass on the nearby table, he picked up a dagger on the table and threw the dagger at the wall with a short and thin crack in its center on the most distant corner,

and surprisingly, the point of the dagger lodged in the center of the crack,

“Wow! Arwyn, that’s nice,” said William with surprise,

“Thank you very much, well, these days, I can’t stop doing my special wild hobby, throwing daggers & other diverse weapons which are good to throw,

and actually, sometimes I also do fencing, haha! you know, it’s a dangerous world,”

“Oh?”

William directly gave both of the sacks to Arwyn, and instantly opening those sacks one by one, Arwyn examined those pearls and seashells for a little,

and as soon as he finished examining, he took an iron key out of the pocket of his breeches and unlocked the drawer of the office desk, he took out two small gold coins and two smaller silver coins from the drawer and gave them to William,

“Thank you very much, Arwyn,” said William, directly putting those coins into the pocket of his breeches with pleasure,

Directly opening the front door, he left the shop, and at the same time, holding the doorknob of the open door, Arwyn looked out the outside to check whether next visitors would approach the shop or not,

then while he looked around the street, soon, he found a well dressed 31-year-old half English half Egyptian man shouldering a luxurious linen bag approached the shop, he directly welcomed the man in courteous terms,

“Welcome to the mermaid pearl, Sir, thank you very much for your visiting,” said Arwyn,

“Thank you very much for welcoming me, Sir, I’m a jeweler George Wilson from London, I want to purchase many elegant pearls to make a double-strand necklace,” said George,

“All right, Mr. Wilson, this way, please,”

Arwyn took him to the display case filled with many diverse pearls and ornamental seashells, and looking through the glass of the case in detail, while George looked around those various pearls each in different colors & shapes in the case, soon, Arwyn called Forest and Arran,

“Forest! Arran! we have a customer now, Mr. Wilson needs many elegant pearls for a double-strand necklace,” said Arwyn,

“All right!” said Forest,

“We’re coming!” said Arran,

Both of them threw those swords to the floor and directly ran to the display section in their hurry,

“Welcome to the mermaid pearl, Mr. Wilson,” said Forest,

“When you choose your favorites, let us know, please,” said Arran,

And a little later, George gave a look to Forest,

“All right, Sir, what kind of pearls do you want?” asked Forest,

“Well, I like this one and those ones,” answered George, pointing his index finger at a big pear-shaped pink pearl first and lastly a plate of eighty small round white pearls,

“Excellent choice, Sir, you have an experienced eye,” said Forest,

And at the same time, Arran took an empty, small velvet sack in pearl white with the logo ‘The Mermaid Pearl’ embroidered with silver thread and a wide silk ribbon in pearl pink out of the nearby wood chest on the floor,

and at the same time, Arwyn took those pearls out of the display case, he put those pearls into the sack and Arran tied it with the ribbon,

and at the same time, George took a tiny sack of gold coins out of the bag and gave the sack to Arwyn,

and instantly holding the sack, Arwyn opened it, soon, as soon as he finished checking the sum, he thanked George,

“Thank you very much, Sir, here are your pearls,” said Arwyn, handing the sack to George,

After George instantly put the sack into the bag, he directly looked at them again,

“Actually, my friend recommended here, do you gentlemen remember the Egyptian jeweler? Ahmed Mostafa from Cairo, he said that this shop sold many diverse pearls with high quality,” said George,

“Of course Sir, we remember him, because he also purchased lots of pearls and a big seashell,” said Arran,

“So would you please send him our gratitude?” asked Forest,

“Of course, I will,” said George,

George directly looked around those pearls in the display case one more time,

“Your shop has many diverse, multicolorful, and beautiful pearls, I’m very impressed, I mean it, and can you explain these pearls in detail?” asked George, looking at Forest,

“Of course, Sir,” said Forest with confidence,

Directly approaching the bookshelf on the nearby corner, he took a roll of paper filled with explanations & paintings of diverse pearls

from all around the world out of the bookshelf and put it in the center of the glass of the case in front of George,

and directly pointing his index finger at all those pearls on the paper & in the display case one by one with confidence and knowledge, he explained,

“- Abalone, The most colorful of all pearl-producing mollusks, these pearls are found in rocky, coastal waters around the world. though fairly plentiful, these rock-hugging snails rarely produce pearls, when they do, the cause is usually an inner shell or intestinal disturbance, -9

- Conch, conch pearls are calcareous concretions produced by the queen conch molliisk, strombus gigas, which is found in various areas of the Caribbean, although conch pearls occur in a range of colors, the pink is usually the most desirable. -10

- Melo, also called Melo Melo, are non-nacreous pearls produced by a large sea snail called the Melo Melo. These exceedingly rare gem pearls have a smooth, glazed surface that sometimes bears flame-like patterns similar to a Conch Pearl. -11

- Pinctada Maxima pearl, is formed when the oyster secretes shiny layers of calcium carbonate to coat irritating particles or parasites lodged between the mantle and the iridescent inner surface of the shell, which is called mother-of-pearl, -12

and - Quahog, is a non-nacreous pearl comprised of fibrous aragonite and organic matter, it grows in Mercenaria mercenaria, a hard saltwater clam native to the New England coast, Quahog pearls each have diverse and gorgeous violet and purple colors. -13

- Scallop, scallop pearls are exceedingly rare occurrences, these non-nacreous calcareous concretions are produced by any member of the Pectinidae (scallop) family. -14

and these Pteria Penguin pearls, Pinctada Radiata pearls, Pinctada Margaritifera pearls, Cassis pearls, and Blister pearls also have diverse shapes & sizes and various colors,”

“All right, that’s amazing, I really appreciate your explanation in detail, Sir, and I’m also glad to know that you gentlemen are selling pure pearls,

because a week ago I read the report that some swindlers sold fake white pearls made of glass, ceramic, eggshell, and seashell,” said George,

“We read the report, too, Sir, and you can trust us, we only sell 100% pure pearls, we hope you don’t worry about that anymore, please,” said Arran,

“All right, I trust all of you, and one more business, do you gentlemen know some good jewel shops selling other kinds of gems in this area? because I also need many beautiful diamonds, turquoises, sapphires, and aquamarines,” said George,

And instantly approaching the bookshelf, Arwyn took a roll of the map of England out of the bookshelf,

“Of course, Sir,” said Arwyn, spreading the map in the center of the glass of the case in front of George,
