Involvement  

When my mother and I finally returned to the Pack, my father greeted my mother like she was a savior. 

At the same time, he posed a difficult problem for my mother. She needed to arrange Susan's wedding in two days.

This was because my father had received a message from the royal family. The royal army would pass our Pack and stay for two days, and a member of the royal family would be accompanying the army.

My father wanted to invite the royal family member to the wedding ceremony, which was obviously something my power-hungry father would do. He had no other purpose than to curry favor with the royal family with this move!

After much persuasion on my father's part, my mother had no choice but to assume this heavy responsibility. Naturally, I became my mother's helper. She wanted me to learn some skills as a Luna from her at the same time.

"We'll show that god*mn Jack that you can still be a good Luna, even without your wolf!" 

My mother didn't know that my wolf had appeared. I wasn't going to tell this fact to anyone just yet. I was sure everyone would be surprised when the time comes!

The wedding preparations proceeded methodically under my mother's guidance. I had to help my mother with all sorts of problems every day, and I was so busy that I didn't have time for a short break.

As for my sister, Susan, she only struggled with what jewelry to wear and what style of bouquet to choose. She was only tasked with how to look beautiful on the day, and all other trivial matters were pushed onto me.

This was the first time I was involved in wedding preparations. Adding on the fact that I simply didn't have time for a break, I even forgot to pass the wedding ring to the best man before the wedding ceremony!

D*mn it!

Now, I had no choice but to knock on the best man's room door with the wedding ring box in hand.

However, the person who opened the door was the groom, Jack!

He was stunned for a moment when he saw me, and he stared at me silently for a few seconds! 

I looked at his familiar face, and the wound in my heart tore open again. The Jack before me looked more mature than before, and he looked so radiant in his gorgeous satin coat! 

"Annie?" Jack's eyes sparkled with surprised glee. He approached me and sniffed my hair. "You've changed!" 

"I only came to give the best man the wedding ring!" I hurriedly retreated, but Jack grabbed my wrist and forcefully pulled me into his arms. 

"Annie! Don't you know how much I've missed you?" 

"Let me go!" I struggled. "Jack, it's your wedding day! Please watch your words and action! I don't want to have anything to do with you anymore!" 

"Annie, are you sure you won't be my mistress?" Jack obviously wasn't going to let go of me as he tightened his hold on me. "Do you know that I always think about what we used to do while you were gone? I can't forget you!" 

"Jack, we're done!" I said, enduring the pain in my heart. "You should stay true to your Luna!" 

"Annie! Please forgive me!" Jack gave me a sincere look and said, "Except for the title of Luna, I'll give you everything you want! Please, come back to me!" 

I smiled bitterly on the inside. 'What you can't give me was the only thing I wanted!'

"Let me go!" I said indifferently. "Unless you want all your guests to know you're molesting me, you better let go! Otherwise, I'll scream!" 

"I won't let any other man have you! Never!" Jack said fiercely. "I'll tear whoever it is to pieces! I swear I will!" 

"D*mn it! Jack, what the hell are you doing?!" 

At this moment, Luke, the best man, walked over. He was Jack's cousin. When he saw the scene before him, he frowned deeply and berated Jack in a low voice, "You're still thinking about another woman at this time? The royals are about to arrive for the wedding, Jack! You'll never guess, but the esteemed guest today is Prince Ian!"

"What?!" Jack exclaimed, and his hold on me loosened instantly. 

At this point, Jack's attention was no longer on me!

Having escaped Jack's clutches, I hurriedly shoved the wedding ring box into Luke's hand, then turned and ran towards the banquet hall where the wedding was.

I stood in the banquet hall before the royals' arrival and listened to the women chatter around me. Most of the discussions centered around Prince Ian, of course. These women were all excited about the prince's arrival, and the one who chattered the most passionately was Susan's good friend, Helen.

"Oh, I heard that Prince Ian is cold yet charming. He has the most beautiful looks in the world. How great would it be if he was my mate? Even sleeping with him for one night would be worth it!" Helen said, her voice filled with longing for Prince Ian.

Just as I walked past her, she took a step back accidentally, and the water from the goblet in her hand spilled over me.

"D*mn it, Helen!" I cursed as the pale, yellow liquid soiled my dress. This was one of my best formal gowns!

"Annie, you better watch where you're going!" Helen said to me haughtily, then turned away to continue her discussion with the other female guests.

Helen was really alike to Susan in shirking responsibilities.

Now, I had no choice but to return to my room to change into a clean dress and hope that I wouldn't be late for the ceremony. 

'Hmph! So what if it's a prince?' I sneered inwardly as I ran back to my room.
