1 Chapter One

Trippin' out

Spinnin' around

I'm underground, I fell down

Yeah, I fell down

I'm freakin' out

So where am I now?

Upside down

And I can't stop it now

It can't stop me now.

Once upon a time ago in a faraway kingdom known as Orva, their lived a King and a Queen who were known throughout the land for their kind and gentle nature. They welcomed everyone who came into their castle with open arms. Their land and kingdom flourished greatly with their people being united. They lived a peaceful life.

On the coldest night in winter, the Queen welcomed her first child into the world. A girl. Graced with Alabaster skin, the faintest of freckles gracing her cheeks and nose, a full head of beautiful curls that would grow into long gorgeous locks with age, rosy lips, and beautiful brown doe eyes. The King and Queen were filled with joy. Their love for their daughter growing with each breath they took.

On the day of her first birthday, the King threw a glorious party to welcome their daughter not only to the Kingdom, but to the world. For one day when her parents have passed, she will inherit their castle and become Queen.

People from all over the land came to celebrate and witness the small child that had drawn the attention of many. Many gifts and offerings were presented to the family. Clothing, objects, jewels, jewelry, money. It was all offered to the tiny child. Their princess. Their future Queen.

All was well as the night had grown. People dancing, eating, and drinking away into the night as the celebration continued. Or so they thought. Once the clock struck Midnight and the moon was at the highest point in the sky, a darkness fell over them. A chill settling in and an eerie silence following after. Their once peaceful night was about to turn into a nightmare.

Without any warning, a purple mist formed in the middle of the ball room, growing upwards for a split second before disappearing as it revealed a beautiful, yet deadly witch. A cruel smile gracing her lips and her eyes glowing a soft purple, she approached the King and Queen.

"What a beautiful child you have. Such a rare beauty." The witch purred out softly, eyeing the tiny girl before her.

"Ezra. You know you are not allowed here. You were banished long ago. Please leave." The King ordered out gently, his body going tense and palms sweating as he watched the witch closely.

"Oh I will your Highness. After I bestow a present upon your precious daughter." Ezra spoke, a sinister smile forming on her lips as she picked the tiny child up and cradled her in her arms. A small gasp escaped the Queen's lips, her body moving forward on instinct to protect her child, only to be stopped with a cold look from the witch.

"Now my dear child. What shall your gift be? Oh I know. On the night of the full moon on her 21st birthday, the princess will meet her demise. The moon will bleed red, the sky in total darkness, and everything in sight will burn to the ground. The Kingdom will crumble. No one will be able to save her. She will bare the mark of the curse even in the after life." Ezra cackled out, her hand glowing a mysterious black as she brought it up to the child's forehead, placing two of her fingers on it as the black formed itself into an upside down crescent moon.

The King and Queen watched in horror, guilt wracking through their bodies as they just stood there letting Ezra place her curse upon their daughter. They knew they couldn't fight her and if they made a move, she would easily escape with their child. Or worse, kill her. They were helpless and felt like failures. This wasn't how it was supposed to be.

"Here you go my Queen." Ezra drawled out sarcastically, placing the child in her mothers arms before taking a step back. "Enjoy what little time you have left with her." She cackled out before disappearing in a smoke of purple mist.

Silence.

At that moment, the Queen broke down into tears, cradling her daughter close to her chest as the King consoled his heartbroken wife. Why? Oh why did this have to happen to them? They were a peaceful Kingdom who did everything they could to make themselves and everyone happy. They didn't deserve this and they would do everything in their power to break this curse no matter.

"Don't worry, Dear. We'll fix this. I swear." The King said softly.

Over the next couple of years, the King searched high and low for anyone who could break this curse. Sending out troops left and right to any source or lead he had but only to come up empty hand. Every witch and warlock, good and bad, had heard of the curse Ezra had place upon the princess. Meaning that no one was willing to help the King. No matter what or much he was offering. Ezra was a force to be reckoned with and was not to be messed with. Those that knew of her valued their life. It was no easy task for the King.

And of course as the years passed, the princess grew into a beautiful woman despite the crescent moon that now graced her forehead. She was loved by everyone in the Kingdom and land despite knowing what laid ahead for them. Of course as an adult now, she had become increasingly self conscious of the mark on her forehead. She would hardly leave the castle and when she did, she made sure that the mark was covered at all times. She was confused as to why she had such a thing on her and always found herself messing with it. Her parents never explained why she had it. They would only tell her that she was special and was born with it. As a child, she was content with that answer. As an adult now though, she knew her parents were keeping something from her and she was determined to figure it out.

And now as she reached the age of twenty, she was becoming restless and anxious. She felt a foreboding feeling constantly following her around and when she closed her eyes all she saw was flames and something in the distance that she couldn't make out. It terrified her to no end. Was she losing her mind? She didn't know. All she knew was that she needed answers.

And answers she got.

One chilly night when she went to visit her parents, she stopped just outside their study, getting ready to knock when she heard her father speaking to her mother. He sounded so sad and defeated.

"I've done everything I can to protect our daughter and yet I have failed. No one is willing to help us break the curse. They're terrified of Ezra. She's too powerful." He spoke out, causing the woman to tilt her head in confusion at the mention of this so called curse.

"You haven't failed my love. We will figure something out. We have a little over a year left to set her free. There has to be someone out there that can help us. I refuse to give up on her daughter. I won't allow her to die. I refuse to let it happen." Her mother spoke confidently.

Curse? What curse? There was no way that she was cursed. It was a lie. She refused to believe it but the mark on her forehead told her differently. She wasn't born with it. She was cursed with it. And now it would be her demise. She refused to let this happen. She stood there for a moment, contemplating on what she should do before coming to a decision.

With a broken heart and tears running down her face, the princess did the only thing she could do at this point. She left. Left her home and parents behind. Taking only what she needed with her. She wasn't going to let them suffer anymore. She was going to track down Ezra and have her remove the curse no matter the cost.

With a bag slung over her shoulder, the princess left in the midst of the night, taking one last peek at her home before disappearing into the darkness of the forest where she would start her journey to find Ezra and end this once and for all.
