1 Chapter 1: Being Found

(Y/N) was abandoned by his parents, from the age of two, he was raised by wolves. They seemed to care for him, including him on their hunts because of his ears and tail they saw him as one of their kind. That is until a hunter, not of Grimm but of animals found the now young man in the woods without clothes on. His teeth looked like those of a wolf too, he snarled at the man as he approached.

"Looks like I've found myself a faunus bastard" he aimed his rifle as you looked at the moon. He fired his gun, then stood in terror at the monstrous wolf-man in front of him. A loud howl could be heard as you ripped the bullet out then grabbed his leg dragging him further into the forest. You may be wondering what happened to the wolves, well less than a year before this Grimm came and started killing his family. Beowolves tore them apart, you got angry and transformed, but unlike most times, it was during the light of day.

A camera on a nearby building caught the whole thing, except for your transformation, and within the hour Ozpin got the call of a wolf-boy that killed someone in the forest. Suddenly, Atlas bullheads came down as officers tried to tranquilize you. After enough shots to take down a wolf you started to feel drowsy, then fell to the ground. Ozpin came to see you personally to see you, a boy strapped to a gurney.

"Ozpin he killed someone, a hunter for game, as far as Atlas is concerned he's ours" Ozpin looked at him and said "No, he's just a boy please let me take care of him" sadly a captain told him "It's out of your jurisdiction now... I'll tell them what you said, but until Atlas agrees..." he sighed realizing this boy may never learn how to be a proper person. Suddenly, Grimm arrived on the scene Ozpin noticed the boy's nose start twitching, his eyes shot open. Your bones cracked and malformed becoming more wolf-like by the second.

Your transformation complete, you broke free of your restraints and tackled a Beowolf about to attack the Atlas Captain. After literally tearing the Grimm apart piece by piece you howled as you reverted back into your more human form. Ozpin caught you as you passed out from exhaustion, "He doesn't want to hurt us, he just felt threatened by us... as any animal would be... though he seems to have some sort of deep hatred for Grimm... that I can appreciate" you snarled in response.

He judged you were about thirteen, "He'll be under my care from now on understand?" Ozpin took you back to Beacon, into his headquarters and taught you everything he knew. It was rough at first, only snarls, but after three years of hard work, you learned basic English. He even gave you two swords, one steel the other made of silver, one helped you against human threats, and the other well... burns Grimm and you when you transform. Ozpin asked you why you hated the Grimm so much every day hoping for an answer, most of the time you'd just sit and stare quietly, or you'd tear up and whine. Until the day before the next year of Beacon started "(Y/N)..." that's what he named you after that day, "why do you hate the Grimm?" you sat and said nothing "T-they... w-were my family... t-the Grimm... k-killed them" you said stuttering and pausing just long enough for tears.

He held onto you and said "I love you, son" you smiled and said "I love you too, dad" he smiled then told you "Get to bed, you have a big day tomorrow" You walked somewhat weirdly after being on four limbs for most of your life. Qrow came to visit Ozpin but you could hear them talking "How is (Y/N)? I'd like to think of him as being family also" he looked towards your room, "It seems we have an eavesdropper" Qrow turned and said "Well it would certainly explain his choice of clothing" you and Qrow would spar during the summers. Though Raven his sister was more of a fashion influence to you than Qrow was.

"So (Y/N) Ruby and Yang are coming here tomorrow, so keep an eye out for them okay" you'd heard about them all your life, but never actually met them.

The Next Day...

This was the fortieth night without transforming, it seems Ozpins anti-semblance medication is working. Yet you could feel the creature scratching, growling, and pacing inside of you. You had your crest stitched onto your jacket. Ozpin came to wake you up, "(Y/N) it's time for school" you put your clothes on and went down the tower. You went to the entrance greeting people, but some people looked at you weird like they thought you were just some freak. Then you saw them, Ruby and Yang, you'd only seen them in pictures Qrow showed you. They saw you and waved "Hey you must be (Y/N) our uncle Qrow talks about you," Ruby said.

Yang added "I also hear you're pretty strong, we'll have to hold a match at some point" you stood silently, "A what?" she looked at Ruby and she smiled "a match, it's like sparring" you then nodded your head in agreement "Sure, I'd like that" just then you smelled something that drove you wild, "I-I'm sorry, do you smell that? it smells like cat" they laughed, causing you to look at them "Are you okay? did the cat get you?! I swear I'll get that cat!" you ran off to find the cat. The scent led you to this girl with black hair, "I smell a cat, you wouldn't have one would you?" you started sniffing closer, then you realized "You, are you a cat faunus?" she held your mouth shut.

She looked at your ears, down to your tail, then suddenly felt the sharp teeth nibble on her hand. "S-sorry I've just never met a cat, my family told me they're dangerous, but you don't seem dangerous" she sighed then sarcastically replied "Well, your parents sound like a pair of real great faunus'" causing you to laugh "No... I never knew my parents, I was referring to the pack of wolves that raised me in the wild, until the age of thirteen" she looked you up and down then said in a seductive voice "Sounds like you're a real animal, huh?" you tilted your head and said "What do you mean?" then she looked around and said "Meow" suddenly those feral instincts flared up again "*growls* must... chase... cat" she gave a scared look as she ran into the ballroom. Ozpin saw you and you saw him, you stopped and stood at attention, sweating from thinking about chasing that cat girl.

"Right well back to what I was saying..." you sat there and heard him say and you quote 'Long speech, speech, more speech, yes even more speech' after that, you went to begin the Beacon Initiation Test. You arrived at Beacon Cliff for the first part of your test. Ozpin mentioned the dangers and possibility of death during the initiation, advising the students not to hesitate to destroy everything in their path to success. It is also explained that once in the Emerald Forest, their partner for the next four years would be the first person they make eye contact with.

They will then head north to an abandoned temple to find and return one of the relics. It was also stated that the students would be watched by staff members, but that those watching them would not help because their job is simply to observe.

The students were then launched one at a time into the Emerald Forest, using their own landing strategy to land safely. Upon your landing in the forest, you were alone. Along the way, you were faced with attacks from different types of Grimm all over the forest. Ozpin warned you about this, he told you Grimm would be there and it may force it out, but you still persisted.

You were getting beat down by a Beowolf and an Ursa, even with all your training you couldn't focus on two at once. "Stop!" you shouted but to no avail, everyone watched you with worry. The Ursa picked you up then body slammed you as if you were nothing, then the Ursa swiped at you as the beowolf crept closer. Your eyes flashed yellow for a second, you tried to fight it, but each moment of pain made it harder, the thing that pushed you over the edge was the Beowolf jumping on you giving you a strong scent of Grimm and as if that wasn't enough it had just clenched its jaws on your shoulder. You transformed without wanting to... you went blind. The entire area was then shaken by a very loud howl.

When you woke up, everyone was gone, you just hoped no one got hurt because of you. Your clothes are fine by the way Ozpin accounted for this and made sure the clothes could expand and contract based on build. Sadly, everyone had already found the pieces which meant you went beserk for nothing. Ozpin announced each team based on the relic they retrieved. He names and appoints a leader to each team. "(Y/N), Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, Yang Xiao Long" Weiss and Blake were upset, until they saw your tail wagging all anyone could say was "Aww" you smiled as you walked over to the dorms, opening it for your new family.
