Marikit's POV

"Where have you been, Marikit?" Asked mom, following my trance the moment I passed behind her.

"Ahm," I trailed off. What shall I do? I am at a loss for words. I can't even explain to her what had happened.

"You left your food on the counter. You know we have cats, Kit." She snapped, too disappointed with me.

"I'm sorry, mom," was the only line I said.

"You're acting weird lately, Kit. Do we have a problem here?"

I rolled my eyes and hastily whirled around to face my mom. She's annoying, I must say. Was it because of what Dominatur did to me?

Mom looked at me, whose arms were crossed over her chest, with a threat on her eyes. I rubbed my temple and shook my head. There's an urge of bursting out at the pit of my stomach. I was losing my temper. I failed to understand myself.

"None, mom. I was just having a good time with myself." I explained but she didn't seem to believe me.

Mom stepped forward towards me. She held my eyes, daring me to compete with her.

She leaned forward and I bent my body back, pulling my face away from here. She was stiffing me, trying to detect an unfamiliar scent.

"You smelled like a man, Kit." She commented. "Was it your boyfriend, huh? Is he the reason why you had to left your food unattended just to see him secretly?"

My eyes widened at her question. I was starstruck. She knew me well. I didn't like having a boyfriend and exes because I was still in high school. Besides, they were just pain in the ass. I hate possessive, clingy and territorial boys. They were suffocating.

"Of course not!" I hollered. "I-I mean, no. I just needed some fresh air."

"Hmm," she narrowed her eyes on me. "You're not lying, are you?"

"Mom!" I whined. "I am not lying."

Dominatur was not my boyfriend! Sounded gross. He was dangerous, ruthless and brutal. Loving him was beyond my imagination.

"I need to rest, mom. I'm really tired," I said, bored. I dropped my shoulder for her to believe me.

She sighed in resignation, bringing down her arms.

"Okay. You better sleep now." She nodded in approval. I just gave her a tight smile and walked past behind her. I was really tired. My body was draining fast. I can feel my shoulder burning.

I locked myself inside my room. I can still feel something burning in my shoulder. I tried to touch it but it just made the situation worse.

I ran towards my mirror. It was just simple, enough to fit my upper body.

I slid my shirt down, just enough to reveal my shoulder. I gasped silently when I saw a red spot on it. I leaned closer to the mirror, gaping. There was a canine-like mark on my neck— where the collarbone and shoulder met.

"What..." I parted my lips, gulped once and breathed in. "Where did I get this?"

Why did it feel like burning? And whenever I tried to touch it, it just made my skin feel like an ember being washed out with cold water.

I took a deep breath and decided to do some research. I can't be mistaken. Dominatur was the beast I met in the forest. He was the leader of the pack— a pack of lycanthropes. He was the mind of the said attack which people thought was an ape attack.

I programmed my laptop and proceeded to the website. I searched for a lycan history, its background, potentials and weaknesses.

Silver, Moon phases and Wolfsbane— three of their weaknesses. Who would have thought silver is one weakness? Silver like an element?

I rubbed my temple. It's been throbbing since I came here. I glanced at my wall clock and found out it's already eleven in the evening. I wasn't used to sleeping late at night.

I closed my laptop and decided to sleep. It was handful for me. My body was draining fast, and my mind was exhausted.

I woke up with the sunlight poking my face. The familiar pain was felt on my shoulder. It looked like it was the worst thing that ever happened to me.

I scrambled out of bed and went to the bathroom. I took a quick shower and changed into a sports bra and shorts. Today would be the first day to search for my grandmother. I would not let another day pass without doing anything.

I grabbed my bag and fastened it around my back. I wished today would be successful. Just one glimpse of hope so I would know I was holding on for something. Something that I knew would never bring me down.

I snatched out of the house and started running. My first destination would be where I came from when that happened. I could not recall but I would do my best.

I found a green forest a few meters from me. I looked up at the tall trees. This looked familiar. I could not be mistaken. I padded through it and got lost in the middle of nowhere.

Dominatur's POV

I watched Marikit enter the forest. I trailed her from behind, not making any noise that would startle her.

How brave of her to walk alone in this forest. All eyes were on her but she didn't seem to notice it. She was busy tracing the remnants of where she came from. She must have remembered this place so vividly.

"What shall we do with her?" Leenard asked me from behind.

"Keep your eyes on her. You don't know what she will do just to find what she was looking for."

"She will find out soon that her grandmother is your hostage."

I remained silent. I was looking forward to that day she would find out I had her grandmother. But if she would decide to fight against me, I would give her a fair fight.

I felt another presence behind my back.

"Gale has been waiting for you, Dominus," a rogue announced.

The corner of my lips coiled the slightest bit. What did she want from me again?

"Tell her I'm not coming home today," I told him.

"You know Gale more than anyone, Dominus. She won't stop until she gets satisfied."

I licked my lower lip and stretched my head side to side. I could not wait to see what would happen to Marikit. She was so determined to have her grandmother back even if it would cost her her life.

"I'll be right back, Marikit," I said mentally.

I went back to my throne and there I found Gale pacing back and forth. When she saw me, she marched her way towards my direction.

"Where have you been, Dominus? I've been waiting for you here for an hour already!" She yelled at me.

I smiled at her. "Darling, why are you acting up? You look troubled."

I could sense the anxiousness and distress within her.

"I'm in trouble, Dominus. My father found out my relationship with you!"

I blinked, unfazed of her statement.

"You have been warned by your father yet you chose to defy him," I stated.

"But I love you, Dominus! I don't care whether they like you for me or not. I can fight against all the odds if it's for you!"

I walked towards her, just enough to stand squarely in front of her. I ran my fingers through her hair and leaned closer to her. I sniffed and the mixture of honey and milk filled my nostrils. It was the scent that my soul wasn't looking for.

"What do you want me to do, darling? Tell me anything," I asked gently. I caressed her cheek and she closed her eyes.

"Save me, Dominus. Let's run away from here! If you have to kill my father to stop him, then do it!"

Amazed, I smiled sweetly at her.

"Your will be done, darling," I said with a smirk.
