1 THE DEATH OF ADRIANNE

"Arrest the Queen! Make sure that she won't get away. This is the order from the high council!"

A deafening voice echoed through out the castle as they looked over for Adrianne, their Queen. They received an order from the council, a group that consist of 12 memebers.

The guards started to search over for their Queen. It was hard, especially that they know how smart and cunning the woman was.

That's why they made a concrete plan first. And that was to deceive the Queen into thinking that all the person around her was loyal to her.

"Where is she?" A girl asked, curiousity was lingering on her voice.

And as she entered the room while panting for air, a man wearing a soldier's outfit entered with a huge smile showing in his face.

"Your highness, the Queen has been captured."

***

It was a thunderous night. The wind was blowing coldly, and the lightning was striking the ground. The trees were dancing with the sky as the wind blew them like a bunch of feathers. Yet, no water was falling from the sky.

Adrianne looked at the full moon standing almighty in the sky. The visible bright light of the moon shining the crowds was enough for her to see all the faces of those who betrayed her.

Not minding the cries of the people cursing her to death. She rolled her eyes, looking sarcastically at all the people waiting for her to be dead. Couldn't they wait for her death or did they really have to burn her body first?

Both of her hands were tightly tied up in a long hardwood. Her legs were resting on a bunch of overlapping branches. Fiery flames surrounded her. The flame was slowly burning her skin as thick black smoke circled around the burning woods.

She couldn't believe that such petty ways will be the reason for her death. Couldn't they make it in a more classy way? Like a good-old-fashioned guillotine perhaps? She wasn't a witch after all, no need to burn her to death.

But even in the face of death, she remained calm and steadfast. She will not give them the satisfaction they wanted to see. Smiling widely, she roamed her eyes around and looked at the people standing right before her eyes. They were saying their cries of displeasure.

"I hope you rot in hell!"

"This is nothing compared to the things you have done to us!"

"This is the perfect ending for you!"

"Die! Die! Die!"

"For the freedom of the people!"

"For the Kingdom of Quirrene's peace!"

"For the freedom of the Kingdom!"

"For the new King and Queen!"

She couldn't contain the laughter that bubbled up within her. Those fools, did they think that she will just let them treat her like this? Laughing loudly, she looked at the people who were staring at her.

Their body was stunned in place, hearing the Queen's unbothered laugh. They were scared. They saw the rage, the fiery anger burning in those pair of red eyes, sending a weird feeling through their entire body, in a way that they immediately took a step back, away from the burning ground.

No one noticed how the sky went dark. The moon brightly shining high in the sky earlier was now nowhere to be seen, as if it was hiding behind the clouds.

The animals that were scattered all over the palace seemed to have run away from the people. The birds were flying away from the thick black smoke that was rising from the burning queen.

"You fools! Do you think that death could even stop me?" She laughed loudly, looking at the faces of the scared people who were having fun to see her suffering earlier.

"I swear in the heavens! I will return and will make you pay for your blasphemy! None of you can escape the vengeance that I will inflict as it will hunt you until death. Protect your family and your children as I will come back to them again!

Even if it's not today or in the future generations, I promise to make your lives a living hell! Even the netherworld can't do anything to stop my retaliation!

I swear, Dear Princess Angelica and your dearest Prince. All of you will all pay as everyone will burn in Hell with me." She grinned, saying those words with such loudness that everyone could hear it even in the distance.

She would make sure to make them pay for what they had done. Blood for Blood. Life for Life. She wouldn't forget the promise she made as death was the only rightful punishment for those people who made her suffer.

The people were surprised at what their Queen had uttered. That was the only time they found out the weight of the punishment in exchange for what they have inflicted on the Evil Queen.

Their hearts were covered in fear for their family, their children, and future generations to come. And one thought flashed in their minds. It is a decision they know was right. They couldn't let the Queen die tonight.

They can't let the curse take place, but before they could possibly do something, a poisoned arrow flew through the air and embedded itself in the queen's chest, right where her heart was. Queen Adrianne immediately died as the huge fire finally consumed her body.

The people couldn't do anything but look at the fire slowly reaching the heavens. Even if the Queen was already dead, they could still hear her thunderous laughter. It was continuously repeating in their minds. They couldn't help but be afraid of what the Queen had said.

No one mistakenly had forgotten the curse as they know that it will truly come after them. The vampires know how powerful the curse was, especially if the life of the person who said it is at stake.

They don't know the exact date when the Queen would finally return. All they could do was to wait and pray that someone would protect them and those people who received the deadly curse.

Yet no one noticed the man hiding in the dark, holding a bow and an arrow in his hands. He was looking from afar, observing the death of the Queen. His eyes were filled with sadness and sorrow as he watched the fire slowly spreading upwards.

And this is how the story started... By the death of the Evil Queen.
