The Technique of Desperation

"I want you gone" he tells me as I stop. "Or I will make you disappear" he threatens as I bite my lip, drawing blood and still feeling this pain throughout my body.

And I knew that in that moment there was nothing else in the world that I hated more than Elijah Knight!

"I could care less what you want" those courageous words part through my lips with such force as a bullet. "I'm not leaving" I tell him my plan as he sighs.

"You Sanchez's have such a painted fury" he says as he turns away from me and pours himself a drink, into a crystal glass as I stood there. "But you always seem to lose to the Knights" he blurts out as he takes a swig and I scoff.

What did he mean? How did I lose to Nathaniel? And how did my mother lose to the asshole that was standing in front of me?

"I didn't lose" I confess to him as he cackles, causing his own deranged smile to emerge onto his face.

"My son ran you over sweetheart" he says as he lifts up the drink and toast to my pain.

"But I think you forgot one thing" I emphasize to him. "You son lost more than I did in that accident, and he caused it" I tell him as he smiles at my seriousness.

"What my son lost doesn't matter" he says as that feel like a stab through my heart. Poor Nathaniel was just a simple pawn for his father and couldn't even remember that. "It came at my advantage" he snidely says as I sigh through my pain.

"Then why are you doin go this?" I ask him, simply curious to whether this monster was lying, if he did care the slightest about his son or it was all the crippling truth.

"Because my son doesn't need someone to gain leverage over him" he confides as I stay, my feet frozen to the floor. "And you and your mother were the biggest problems in this town" he says coldly as anger surges through my body at his dark confession.

"Now one of my you are gone and you are the last string to tie" he tells me as he brings the envelope back to me, opening and revealing the three wads of cash. "Now I ask you again" he says, "How much are your memories worth?" He ask me as I nod my head fo his ridiculous question and push his hand away from me.

"Far more than what you value your son!" I combat angrily as I see his hands clench at my words.

"DON'T BRING MY SON INTO THIS!" The mayor commands me as he furiously kicks the chair separating us to the other side of the office as I gasp.

"YOU WERE THE ONE THAT BROUGHT MY MOTHER INTO THIS!" I scream to him as I walk closer to him, tempting my luck. "Don't think for a second that you a spotless human being!" I tell him as I point my finger at his face, looking into his dark, terrorizing eyes.

"I never promised to be a perfect human being" he says coldly, responding to my words.

"And neither did my damn mother!" I state. "I'm not naive or dumb, I'm know what business you had with my mom" I finally admit to him as his eyes perk up. "Her laundering money for you because you had something that could burst her world. Because you had dirt on her that she took her to a early grave" I blame him as he sighs, uncomfortable with my accusations. "So what was it that was so mind shattering?" I ask him as he hangs his head.

"I want you out of here!" He tells me agains as I snicker at his wants. "If you take this money now and run with it you could ask your father yourself" he tells me as I realize he knew my unfortunate biological father.

"You know who my father is" I make the sudden connection. "Henry Burket" I blurt out his name as it feels good to have the man stand in front of me empty of blackmail against me. "I'm glad for Zela's father" I snarl to myself as his smile quivers at my sisters name. And it all added up.

"You are still so naive" he tells me through a smirk. "I think you forget one thing-" he says as I cut him off, finishing his own sentence.

"That you have a mole dishing to you everything that is happening in my life. I thought so" I say, surprised at the truth. "It's Zela" I say aloud, "Isn't it?" I ask him as with a slight nod tears fill my eyes as I try to fight them but their useless.

"If you leave now you will save yourself a whole world of pain" he threatens as the tears trace down my cheeks. "And if not I always have the option to make you" his threats inciting so much hate.

"YOU TOOK MY SISTER" I scream as I approach him. "YOU KILLED MY MOTHER!" I continue to scream angrily. "BUT YOU WILL NOT TAKE ME AWAY!" I yell to him as I slap him across the face.

"I let that slide" he says as I raise my hand to slap him again, in hope of the ignorance fading from him. Hoping for him to have some sympathy for what he took from me. But instead he catches my hand and tightens his hand around my wrist. "Only because I would hate to hit a high school girl" he tells me as I snicker.

Wasn't what he did to me much worse than any physical pain he could inflict on me?

"But I won't" I say as I pull my wrist from his hand and back to my side. "You have no idea what monster you just created" I let him know as he chuckles.

"A girl like you is not even close to any kind of monster" he criticizes as I clench my fist at his words.

"A woman that's left with nothing is much scarier than any man down on his luck" I warn him. "Just wait and watch what I will do" I dare him as he smiles.

"I'd have to have a worthy opponent" he snickers at my threat, his arrogance showing as I pick up the chair by his desk and hurdle it towards the door with every angry bone in my body.

"And you know have one" I meet his words as the study room doors open as I walk out.

Although I try to keep my calm, embodying carelessness but I can't. As I arrive to the terrace, and I finally break down. My knees falling as my dress surrounds me and my tears engulf me and the realization that my sister really did betrayed my kick in, as the tears only flow more.

"Hello?" I hear someone say, almost sounding like a question. But I can't keep myself from crying. "Are you okay?" Someone ask me as I don't care anymore. I only answer with a nod to the stranger.

"Um...…can you please leave?" I ask as there is no movement behind me, only stillness.

"What's your name?" The voice ask aloud to me as if I'm going to be honest it took me time to pull away from my thought and say it.

"Francesca" I shortly answer the stranger, my tears continuing.

"I'm Nathaniel" the stranger replies as I turn around in astonishment, seeing his familiar face again. "Do I know you?" He ask me as that all to familiar feeling of fear fills me up again.
