The puppet spell

Anna stared at Dominic as if looking at an idiot. Her legs rooted to the ground.

"You... don't know?" she asked, tilting her head to the right in a slow motion. Her face seemed confused at his reaction. She scrutinized the expressions Dominic was showing and realized that it was either confusion, hatred, or fear. A frown showed up, creating a deep furrow on her brows.

"Seriously?" she asked in disbelief.

"Here I am contemplating on how to get to you, and yet, you have no idea about your weakness? Heaven! Did no one in your lineage tell you? Your chest, right where your heart is. That's your weakness," Anna huffed, tired of preaching.

Her eyes were locked on Dominic again. When she saw his never-heard-of-that-nonsense kind of expression, she laughed.

Dominic stared at the laughing woman while trying to summon his power for the nth time. The urge to kill her was getting stronger the more he listened to her gibberish. However, some parts terrified him. He believed she was lying, but the fact that he couldn't summon his power proved her right.

Was that really his weakness? If it was indeed the truth, why no one from his lineage told him about it, or perhaps, they also weren't aware of it? Then...

Dominic cursed as he looked at Anna in terror. Who was she? he thought, trembling.

Anna saw Dominic's expression changed many times. It made her sigh at his lack of knowledge. She had thought of many countermeasures if he attacked, but the reality was funnier than what she had imagined. The man she reckoned as powerful appeared to be a weakling in disguise.

Sighing, Anna looked at the clear sky before looking at Ruby, who was still unconscious. Finally, she stared at Dominic. She wished she could spend more time toying with him, but her time was limited. This place might be far from the mansion, but that didn't mean no one would come here.

"It's time for the next plan," Anna muttered as she walked towards Dominic, who at the same time tried to run away from her. However, his weak body inhibited him from moving fast, so Anna quickly caught up to him.

"An eye for an eye," Anna whispered in Dominic's ears as she dabbed her forefinger to the blood that was flowing from his chest. She used them to write strange characters on his chest.

Dominic tried to struggle, but he was so weak, he could only watch Anna violate his bare chest.

"W-What are you doing?" he asked, struggling with every word. However, all he saw was her mouth twist into a sardonic smile.

Anna shook her head, sighing afterward.

"You're really... sigh. Seriously, you're the worst powerful bloodline I've ever met. You're so uneducated, stupid, and naive. What am I doing? You're asking me a stupid question, don't you know that? Heck! I'm casting a spell on you, in a primitive way. Oh wait, your face is saying that you don't know this method..." she paused what she was doing and glanced at Dominic. She scoffed when she saw the incredulity in his eyes.

"I bet you kissed me a month ago just to bind me with the longing spell?"

Dominic's eyes widened again. He was shocked. How did she know? Indeed, he kissed her a month ago for that purpose.

"Y-You remember! You were lying about losing your memory!" Dominic was livid. He looked at Anna as if looking at a demon.

"Beep, try again!" Anna stuck her tongue out. She laughed when she saw his lips twitch in anger. "You know for that kind of spell, you can bind someone just by touching them."

Dominic gulped a mouthful of saliva mixed with his own blood. He thought of what she said and realized that the prerequisite to cast a longing spell was skin contact. Due to its lewd nature, he thought the way to cast the spell was through sexual acts. Now that he thought about it, she was right...

Anna saw the inner conflict reflected in Dominic's eyes but decided to ignore it. She noticed that she was running out of blood to complete the runic inscriptions on his body. With a grin, she dabbed her finger inside Dominic's wounded chest, causing him to yelp in pain. Finally awoken from his stupor, the man screamed angrily at her.

"You-you're nothing but a normal human being. You could do nothing to me! You want to spellbind me, in your dream!" Dominic spitted blood just to finish this sentence. However, when he saw Anna looking at him as if he was the dumbest person on earth, he coughed blood again. This woman was infuriating!

Anna sighed again for how many times, she couldn't remember. As someone who once possessed a power that could rival heaven, Dominic's naivety, and idiocracy made her want to cry.

"You know, anyone born in a powerful bloodline will know at least a few of the forbidden secrets. Like a spell that a human could use even though they don't possess any of the powerful blood," Anna started preaching again. Although Dominic was a disappointment, she loved the shock expression on him.

"As long as I have access to your blood, I can do anything," she glanced at Dominic and winked at him when their eyes met.

Dominic couldn't believe his ears. Anna, the person whom he had trained to become his slave, actually knew about powerful bloodlines? No, she knew way more than that!

Dominic was going crazy just by thinking about it. No! He must be crazy to believe the nonsense she talked about.

"Y-You are cursed! You're cursed!" Dominic screamed, hoping that someone would hear him. However, he forgot that the garden was quite far from the mansion.

"Y-You… You better stop this. I'm a Nobleblood, I'm the most powerful human in this world," Dominic pursed his lips, trying to stand the pain he was experiencing. He had so much anger towards the woman who was now staring blankly at him.

"A Noblebloed?" Anna was surprised that she had no idea how to react.

In her past lives, she hadn't got the chance to meet a Noblebloed, the bloodline known in the history book as the strongest.

Looking at Dominic, she shook her head from left to right, denying him. No way was he a Noblebloed. How embarrassing would the Noblebloed be if they knew that a human managed to trick one of them to submission? Anna shook her head again. Seeing this, Dominic coughed out blood due to so much anger.

"I-I am a Noblebloed. D-Do you think you can go against us?" he gritted his teeth, trying to threaten her.

Anna suddenly laughed. "If you insist," she said, laughing again. "But, I do hope your other family members aren't weak and stupid as you," she spoke, blinking innocently.

"Erm, forget about that. Let me tell you about the spell I'm casting on you. It is the strongest spell among the slavery spells. Since you put the longing spell in me, let me put a spell from the same category in you. Let's see, how about the puppet spell? What will it do? Oh, did you ask me? Well, it'll renew your soul into the kind of soul the caster wished for. Do you know what I wish for? Someone who is obedient and willing to do anything for his master," a sweet smile appeared on Anna's face.

Hearing this, fear struck the poor man…

"No! No! Y-You're a demon!" Dominic forced the words out of his mouth. He knew of the puppet spell, but it was long gone. If this woman wasn't a demon, then nothing else could describe how she knew of the spell.

"Well, just think of me as a demon," Anna giggled as she began chanting the spell. The strange characters she wrote on Dominic's body glow red and floated above his body.

Simultaneously, Dominic felt his soul go into a rampage as if trying to resist the spell. Alas, it could only struggle for a short moment before accepting its fate for some renewal.

Dominic's eyes went to Anna, hoping that her melodic voice would stop, but the smile lingered on her face, extinguished the only hope he had left. "Who are you?" he asked before his consciousness faded to the infinity of darkness.

"Someone you shouldn't mess with," Anna replied as she watched Dominic's eyes shut. After a while, she saw his eyelashes fluttered as if trying hard to open them.

"Dominic, open your eyes," Anna commanded, and the man opened his eyes. His face that was full of anger was now looking emotionlessly at Anna.

"From now on, look through his memories and imitate his life. Two days later, meet me again. Your job is to report everything to me."

"Yes, master!" Dominic saluted.

"Call me Anna. Heal yourself and then undo the spell on Ruby. Then, only you can leave," Anna waived her right hand to dismiss Dominic, who was now her puppet. However, Dominic stared at her with puppy eyes.

"Master, this Dominic is stupid, he doesn't even know the spell to heal himself," Dominic complained, and Anna facepalmed. Seriously?

"How did he heal himself previously?" she asked, curious.

Dominic closed his eyes, trying to look for the answer. "Master, he consumed something called the 'healing potion'. It could cure any type of injury. He has it… ahh here," Dominic searched his pant's pocket and took out a small bottle. It was a bottle that contained a red liquid. Frowning, Anna took the bottle from him.

"He's so foolish. Why didn't he drink this earlier?" Anna felt her world crumble. Dominic had set the highest bar for the most stupid, idiotic possessor of a powerful bloodline in her record.

"I'm taking this," she said and taught Dominic the spell to heal himself. Dominic chanted the spell silently and went to undo the spell that was cast on Ruby.

"Master."

"Anna," she corrected, glaring at Dominic.

Dominic scratched his head, smiling sheepishly.

"Anna, should I wipe her memory?" he asked, pointing towards Ruby. Anna thought for a while before giving him the signal to do so. She wasn't going to risk anything. It wasn't the right time for Ruby to be involved with people like Dominic.

"Oh, and wipe her memory about us kissing," she added, unaware that Dominic's lips twitched upon hearing that.

'You're really a stupid man,' Dominic thought while hitting his own head before looking at Ruby's memories, erasing the current one and the one Anna had explicitly mentioned.
