The Cruel Prince

Ying Yue can very much remember how in love she was with prince Wang Jian. Betrothed to him at birth, she was raised and molded to love, cherish and be his perfect wife. He was everything to her, Ying Yue loved prince Wang Jian the way she's supposed to, expected to, and trained to.

He's the love of her life.

Prince Wang Jian adored her just the same, he married Ying Yue when he's eighteen and her at sixteen. As soon as they're both at marrying age.

The two was a picture perfect couple during the early stage of their marriage, but there's something off about this union, this marriage was bound by curse and never meant to last. It wasn't supposed to happen because prince Wang Jian came from the cursed southern kingdom of Wang.

They were the cursed clansmen who fought and protected the land from an army of demonic entities who'd been enemies with the kingdom since the beginning of time.

Months after the wedding, the prince grew restless especially after sundown. His nocturnal savagery became evident when the shadows are long, and the darkness is thick.

Most nights he yanked himself from sleep covered in sweat, trembling and terrorized by nightmares that chased him.

He spent most nights awake patrolling the room as he grew more vile, irritable, and angry each day. He turned into a savage feral prince opposite of the tame and gentle prince he once was.

The Prince became evil and sadistic much to Ying Yue's surprise, but she overlooked it, she turned the blind eye for the sake of the prince she loves. Ying Yue loved prince Wang Jian no matter how vile and evil he became.

Before long, the cruel Prince picked up a concubine much to every one's surprise. It broke Ying Yue's heart. She had not anticipated being replaced so quickly.

The prince acted cold towards Ying Yue as if he could no longer tolerate her being around. Ying Yue did not let this affect her.

Ying Yue thought it was just a matter of time before the prince return to his old self and everything will be back to normal. But things didn't come back to normal, it only got worse as the weeks and months went by. The prince turned more vile as if he became possessed with demons he bowed to destroy.

Ying Yue did not understand the prince at all, even though he declared a new concubine. He continued to share her bed and made love to her night after night with relentless passion ignoring the other woman entirely.

He was seen with his concubine at daytime but shared the bed with Ying Yue at night. Most times, the prince acted fearful and as though he was trying to hide her from someone. He wanted to fool someone else believing he had a different lover other than his wife.

The prince was a constant change of mood swings that Ying Yue doesn't know which prince is going to warm her at night. He was either hot or cold, never in the middle and this confused her where she grew as desperate to understand him.

"Jian..." Ying Yue whispered during one of her sleepless nights.

"Do not speak to me." The cruel prince hissed.

Ying Yue ignored his hiss and bravely draped her long slender arm around him. For a short moment the prince was calm, he appeared to soak her affection until the feral in him awakened.
