1 Chapter 1 The dark man

In the slightly dark room laid the man of power. He gave orders and made the law. He was feared. Whatever he wanted was his and he never backed down from a challenge. The room was spacious, shady, and daring. The furniture was black under a dim Chandelier just hanging above it. No one dares to interrupt his alone hour, for there are consequences attached.

He laid on the large bed with his eyes shut. His ears are as sensitive as to hear the dripping waters from the fountain in the garden. His dark hair parked up man-bun-like rested on the silky mattress, and his peach lips slid shut. His white shirt was the only thing that glowed in the shady room as his arms that parted laid nonchalantly on the bed. There was a slight thud on the door. It was a knock. Someone had interrupted his sleep.

Who dared?

His eyes slid open. They were dim and dark in the shadows. He was up. His steps were as swift as his heartbeat. He sat on the dark furniture and waited for the door to slide open. Bennett walked in.

BENNETT WALKER- Nicholas Ross's personal butler

He walked in fear for he knew what he had done. He knew what his master was capable of and was ready to face the consequences. He stood at the door with both hands crossed forward and his face bent down.

"Walk to the light Bennett". Nicholas ordered. His voice was deep and commanding. Bennett did what he was told. His head was still bent down. He had never stood so close to his master before. He shivered in fear.

"Speak". Nicholas ordered again. Bennett found himself stammering as he fought to find his voice.

"T-two em-employees h-have c-come to see y-you sir, they s-said i-i-it w-was urgent". Bennett managed.

"Mere employees interrupted my sleep?" Nicholas spoke calmly and dangerously.

"I-I-I'm so sorry sir, b-b-but they wouldn't leave". Bennett trembled.

"Interesting". Nicholas said with a lifted brow. He was curious. "What nerve!" He stood up with power, Bennett moved back in fear and kept moving backward as Nicholas walked closer to him. His breath hanged as his master gripped his right shoulder. Lips arched as Nicholas saw the man standing in front of him trembling in fear. He loved seeing them like that. He enjoys every single bit of the expression they layout when they're scared.

"My dear Bennett, let's go entertain our brave guests, come now, we can't keep them waiting now can we?"

He said in a very devious sarcastic tone. A whimper escaped from Bennett's mouth, he knew what Nicholas meant by entertain. He had seen so many cases, it wasn't a very pleasant view to watch. Nicholas frowned as he walked out the door. His mood swings were just impeccable. 'He had probably thought of the torture for those poor employees'. Bennett thought as he walked swiftly behind the expressionless and ruthless man.

Nicholas walked into the wide dark hallway with Bennett directly behind him. They both walked to the elevator at the end of the hallway as Nicholas entered and Bennett walked passed him to stand behind.
