Something like defiance in her eyes mingled with growing anger. "Now you must go! Take a look at yourself like this. Don't you even have a bit of etiquette left?"

Then in a movement so sudden she didn't know how to react to it, Taizong reclined on the bed drawing her body on top of him.

"Kiss me," he said.

"What?" Emika practically gasped of shock—so brazen!

"Kiss me. I think I might be the jealous sort."

She rolled her eyes. Why would he be jealous? 

"You have been drinking... You need to rest."

He was drunk, yes, but his thoughts were not all yet scrambled. "Just one kiss," he insisted, "just one."

She would kiss him—then perhaps he might leave. Thus, she pressed her lips lightly upon his. As she was about to push herself away into a more upright position, his hand came to the small of her back and would not let go.
