The Ball

Lily was in a café struggling to finish her assignment which needs to be submitted tonight. While she was so into her laptop, the news in the television has caught her attention making her stop typing on her laptop and she was focusing on the television. It was a news about the Crown Prince.

"I, Augustin as a representative from the Royals, would like to announce a very big news to the citizen of Kingdom of Stella. The Crown Prince are looking for his wife to be and therefore, all girls are invited to The Ball to meet the crown prince. The girls can dress up beautifully because you might get chosen to be his wife. The ball will be held at the Royal Hall, this Wednesday at 8pm. Good luck."

Once the news ended, most of the girls in the café were squealing in excitement.

"Kyaa oh my god! I'm so gonna dressed up nicely!" shouted one girl.

Meanwhile, Lily who was sitting there, trying to process about the news. *wait, Ren is looking for a wife?* thought Lily. "Maybe I should go and he probably remember who I am~" thought Lily happily as she continue with her assignment.

A few days later, the day to The Ball is finally here. The day most of the girls in Kingdom of Stella has been waiting for. Today is the only day all of them could meet the crown prince. Most of the girls dressed up beautifully in a dress with their own styles. As for Lily, she decided to go with a simple look. White and silver long dress, as for her hair, she let down her long wavy hair. Thank god she has her best friend, Amelia who can help her with the makeup.

"Beautiful" said her mom while leaning against the door.

"He is so gonna notice you." Said Amelia and that made her chuckled.

"Well, I do hope he remember me… it's been so long~" said Lily.

While the three of them were talking, her father was waiting for her downstairs to send her and Amelia to the Royal Hall. After she bid her mom a goodbye, both of them leaving the house in excitement.

Once they've reached the Royal Hall, both of them were amazed by the lights, the Royal butler guarding the hall, and much to their surprised, the get to walk on a red carpet. Just like a celebrity. "Well, today is the day to feel like a princess~" said Amelia making Lily smile.

"Yeah~" smiled Lily. Then, both of them walked on the red carpet and entered the hall together.

Once they entered the hall, they were amazed again by how grand the event was. There was a big chandelier made from crystal hanging at the centre of the hall, buffets, the royal catering was holding a tray offering them some drinks and snacks. Those big and long red curtains on the window, the big staircase which the Crown Prince might be walking later looked so expensive and grand.

"Wow… we are really in the Royal Hall." amazed Amelia. While both of them were still in awed, an announcement has been made. Which the Crown Prince was about to arrive in the hall.

"Oh my god, I can't wait to see your long lost friend!" said Amelia loud enough for only Lily to hear.

"Let's welcome, our Crown Prince, Ren Nicholas Leonardo." Announced Augustin. With that, the crown prince were making his grand entrance looking so handsome. Most of the girls were starstruck by his visual. He was wearing a white royal suit, with red sashes around his upper body, his hair was perfectly combed to the back. He was walking with a smile on his face looking at the girls while as for the girls, trying to make themselves looked pretty to get his attention.

As for Lily, she was watching him from not too far from the crowd with a smile. *Finally, after so long.*thought Lily. While she was so lost in thought remembering her childhood moments with him, she noticed that the crown prince was looking at him. With that, her cheeks turned pink feeling so shy. All she did was bowed gracefully to him and give him a smile. Then, the ball has started.

Both Lily and Amelia spend most of their time there sitting on a table looking at the people dancing. Some of the girls are waiting for their turn to dance with the Crown Prince. While Amelia was too busy pleading Lily to have a dance with him but Lily refused to. Scared if the Crown Prince wouldn't remember her and thought of her as a stranger.

"I don't think he remembers me… can we just go home?" asked Lily. "Lily, no. we came here because you wanna meet him. And now you're just gonna go home without saying hi?" said Amelia in disbelief.

While both of them were talking, Ren who was busy dancing with all those girls forcing his smiles and excitement. Different girl has different characteristic and none of them caught his attention. All of them are far from his ideal type. While he was dancing, he noticed Lily and Amelia was sitting on a table not too far from him. He was staring at Lily till the girl in front of him had to call him for a few times.

"Your highness, are you alright?" asked the girl.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine. Would you excuse me?" asked Ren and left the girl alone.

Then, he suddenly begin to walk towards Lily. While Amelia was talking to Lily, she was too surprised to see the Crown Prince was walking towards them. "Oh my god, Lily!" called Amelia and told her to look behind. Once she turned, she was too surprised to see Ren was walking towards her and he let out his hand in front of her.

"Shall we dance?" asked Ren with his charming voice making all the girls squealed.

Lily was surprised with the sudden action, took his hand slowly and reply "Y-yes, your highness." Said Lily.

With a smile, Ren took her to the centre and they both dance together. "B-but, I'm sorry, I don't know how to dance…" whispered Lily. And that made Ren chuckled. "That's alright, I'll lead… don't you worry." Said Ren. Once the music started, Ren was leading the dance and thankfully, it was not too hard for Lily to catch up with him. Instead, both of them were dancing gracefully looking at each other eyes.

While Ren was dancing with her, if felt so different. It feels like she's the one he has been looking for. Both off them couldn't stop looking at each other talking to their own thoughts. Lily wanted to bad to tell him she was Lily but somehow she can't. As for Ren, he keep on smiling while looking at her. Once the music stops, both of them were still holding each other hands.

"The music has ended…" said Lily.

"Yeah." Said Ren. "The dance was amazing, thank you." Added Ren with a smile while holding her hands gently.

"No, thank you, Your Highness." Said Lily and bowed, letting go of his hands slowly and left the centre giving the other girls a chance to dance with him.

At night, once the ball has ended, Ren who was still wearing the suits standing in at the balcony in his chamber staring at the stars in the night sky. While he was so lost in thoughts, his butler called for him.

"Your highness, how was the ball today? Do you find one?" asked Augustin. Ren remained silent for a while, thinking about the girl he was dancing from start till end just now.

"Yeah, she was someone I know. Someone I've been waiting for. I choose her." Answered Ren as he turned his back looking at Augustin.

"May I know which girl, Your Highness?" asked Augustin.

"The girl who was wearing the white and silver long dress. The one I dance from the start till end. Her name is Lily Valentina." Answered Ren.

"Understood." Bowed Augustin and left his chamber.
