11 FOR THE SAKE OF HIS PEOPLE

Truth be told, it wasn't just Grinia who was waiting for the day when they would finally have their first Crown Princess. Other kingdoms around the world were also waiting for the event in the kingdom of Grinia.

The other Kingdoms knew about how the people of Grinia believed in the Moon God, and knowing that the person chosen by Moon God would eventually obtain the title of Crown Princess, they were very excited to witness it.

That was why they were willing to make the long trip from their kingdoms to Grinia, and Grinia was also preparing to welcome their guests.

The people of Grinia had worked hard for this important event. Not only did the people inside the palace prepare the palace to look beautiful on an important day, but the people outside the palace also didn't want to lose and tried to clean their surroundings as best they could.

Just look at the market, and you wouldn't see any trash there. And if you look at the factory, you wouldn't see the thick, suffocating black smoke because the owners had reduced their activities.

Now, Grinia's air, water, and land were clean, and that was the result of the hard work of the people. It was because the people were excited to welcome their Crown Princess.

Unfortunately, the person who was about to get the title 'Crown Princess' suddenly said that he didn't want to become the Crown Princess. The ceremony would be held tomorrow, but the brown-eyed boy had the heart to destroy the people's dreams.

"You can't do that, Elen," King Gerold finally replied, trying to win over his son's heart by calling him by a nickname. "If you don't want to think about us, then you should think about our people. They have been waiting for the Crown Princess for a long time."

King Gerold sounded like he was begging, but maybe he was. Maybe he just couldn't imagine his son wanting to back down at the last minute.

"Is it so important to have a Crown Princess? Is it because the Crown Princess will bring prosperity to the people? But, don't you remember that I'm not the real Crown Princess, Your Majesty? Do you think the Moon God is stupid? Do you think he will give blessings to our people even if I agree to become the Crown Princess?"

Elennora was being sarcastic because he thought his father's idea was ridiculous. They might be able to fool people, but could they fool the Moon God?

This time, King Gerold seemed to hesitate before replying, "We have forced you to appear like a girl in the past eighteen years, and we have also deceived our people that you will become the Crown Princess. During that period, the Moon God came down several times to guide us, but he never mentioned our lies. I think it's fine as long as Grinia has a Crown Princess."

King Gerold was looking for an excuse, and Elennora thought it was ridiculous. "Then, you can ask Princess Frederica to be the Crown Princess, Your Majesty," he replied carelessly.

"ELENNORA!" Again, Queen Richenza was furious to hear her son's answer. "How can the daughter of a concubine become the Crown Princess of this kingdom? That's ridiculous! Moreover, the concubine's daughter is not His Majesty's first child! We can't follow Moon God's instructions by making her the Crown Princess!"

The Queen of Grinia was furious, but Elennora remained calm as he replied, "I and Princess Frederica each have one criterion that meets Moon God's requirements to bring a better future for Grinia. I am indeed His Majesty's first child, but I am not a girl. On the other hand, Princess Frederica is a girl, but she is not His Majesty's first child. Princess Frederica and I are on the same level, Your Majesty."

Once again, Elennora dared to go against the Queen's words, and it made the Queen speechless.

Seeing how Queen Richenza finally couldn't respond to Elennora, King Gerold sighed before trying to persuade his son again, "I've known you for many years, Elen. You have a soft heart, and you love the people of this kingdom so much. I know you've changed after knowing the truth, but I trust that you wouldn't want to hurt your people."

"..." This time, Elennora couldn't answer.

He had indeed started to change a few years ago since he felt that something was wrong with his identity, but he did have a warm and tender heart.

He rarely left the palace because the King restricted his movements, but whenever he went out to visit the commoners, he always felt warmth every time he saw the smiles of the people.

He would be in the carriage, and people would line the side of the road waving at him. They would shout, "Long live, Your Highness the Crown Princess!"

Even before officially receiving the title 'Crown Princess,' Elennora could feel the love of his people for him. Those people weren't as lucky as him to be born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and they could only rely on fate to be able to live a good life in the kingdom.

The Moon God promised them that they would have a better life with the Crown Princess, and they put their hope in the Crown Princess for their future.

Now Elennora couldn't make a quick decision. Even if he felt mistreated by his parents, he knew that he could not disappoint those who put their hopes on his shoulders.

Even if he didn't like pretending to be someone else, he would choose to do so as long as he could give the people of the kingdom a better life. The images of people smiling at him flashed across his mind, and he felt even more sure in his heart.

Hence, the pink-haired boy finally decided, "For the sake of the people of Grinia, I will take on the responsibility of becoming the Crown Princess."

And both the King and Queen smiled broadly after hearing their son's decision.
